I needed a same day appointment and was stressing a bit because it was so last minute but when I called they were able to get me into a late evening appointment after hours which was a huge win. I walked in and the aesthetic of the salon was so cute and was greeted by my stylist, Lauren, who I soon found out was actually the owner - how lucky! She was so sweet, very communicative, gave advice on what she recommended for my hair and got straight to it. I did a really good deep treatment with steam which I've never done and is supposed to be really great to open up the hair follicles and I will say my hair was so silky smooth after! And most notable, she is the only stylist that has ever blow dried my hair and didn't burn my neck or ears with the heat. 10/10 experience overall and will be back. I saw the salon was closing and called 2 hours before to make an appointment. The woman on the phone was extremely kind and said Francisco would see me. He was a star! I entered the industrial like stylish salon, and he was wonderful from the start. It's my first day as a Camarillo resident, and I have found my long term stylist. She was able to fit me in today. I showed her a picture of me with shoulder length hair. She said, I'll start out longer and we can determine the length. I really liked that. Felysha shampooed my hair, cut my hair, checked in with me on length, styled it, used product on it, and VOILA!! I have a great haircut and it feels sensational!! Had one of the most traumatic experiences bleaching and dying my hair pink with Emmanuel. He never once apologized for ruining my hair, the breakage caused from over bleaching my hair and using 3 different shades of pink on me. Instead of just paying me back for the damage caused he expected me to go back and sit in his chair after I expressed to him how uncomfortable he made me feel. I've been visiting this salon based on a recommendation from a coworker for years. I see Nikki and I always get compliments on my haircut after my appointments with them. I went in for just a hair cut. I have an undercut that needed cleaning up. The woman doesn't use clippers, so she tried to cut the hair. It doesn't even get close enough to get it short enough for what I asked for and what a waste of time. I did appreciate the advice she gave on the style I wanted for the long part. Also, I had to listen to her ramble on about her animals or kid for the whole time with barely getting to speak too. My daughter surprised me with an appointment to see Nikki when I was visiting from out of state. The reason I mention that is because Nikki would definitely be my regular hair stylist if I didn't live a thousand miles away. Nikki listened to me and even though I was fairly vague in my request, she cut it exactly how it needed to be and I couldn't have been happier. And that massage while shampooing.... I'd go back just for that. The shop is warm and inviting. I love the urban decor. There are definitely other people around but the way it's set up, stylists aren't on top of each other and it really felt like Nikki and I were the only ones in there, just chatting away and making me beautiful. Y'all I gotta tell you, if you're searching for a new salon look no further; if your current stylist is just "getting the job done" then take your business here immediately; heck, the ONLY reason you should not schedule an appointment TODAY with The Loft Salon is if you're permanently bald... but honestly, even then it might be worth your time to come for the experience of just being here. This place has one of the best stylists on the west coast working for them and her name is Tara! She's been my go-to stylist for quite some time now and I literally travel from the heart of Hollywood (yes, at least an hour drive depending on traffic) just to see her, and for good reason. Firstly, she's one of the best at what she does, period. I drag myself there looking uglier than Sloth from the Goonies and after about an hour, and without breaking a sweat, I'm walking out of that place feeling like Brad Pitt on the red carpet. This woman knows her stuff and I can say this will all honestly because I have literally ZERO clue what a single name of any hairstyle is and I just tell her to do what she thinks looks good. But, being the perfectionist she is, merely being great at styling hair is not enough for her (see Second below). SECOND, Tara must've been a licensed therapist in a past life or something because once you sit in her chair you feel like you're at home with a family member. She's an incredible conversationalist, exceedingly friendly, has a very relaxing presence, and this alone will make you want to come back to see her again. I've been to many stylists from across the country (I'm not originally from these parts) and she is BY FAR the best I've come across at making you feel right as rain after you've left. So, if you're feeling down on your luck and don't REALLY need a cut, schedule an appointment with her anyway bc it's cheaper than therapy and she'll still surprise you with a great haircut on top of it all! All jokes aside though, she's an incredible person and stylist which is why I refuse to let anybody else touch my hair and am willing to drive so far to see her. She's also great at scheduling me on extremely short notice, albeit I would advise giving her the courtesy of scheduling ahead of time as common courtesy, but she has penciled me in a couple of times on a single days notice which I have yet to find anywhere else coupled with the talent and also while taking care of other clients. I mention this so you know that this woman is passionate about her job, loves her clients, and goes ABOVE & BEYOND to make sure that each and every person she takes on is 100% satisfied. Needless to say, I strongly suggest scheduling with her for your next cut. As per the salon, it's a beautiful place in a great and accessible location. Obviously, I'm a bit bias but I've seen the work of the other stylists and they're great as well. So if you can't get Tara right away there's no need to worry as they'll take good care of you as well. Very clean location, well kept, friendly atmosphere, and smiling faces all around. There's absolutely no reason I can think of as to why someone shouldn't go here. Thank you to Tara and all the stylists at The Loft Salon!!! Lauren is AMAZING! She is an expert at coloring and walking you through color options. When I first started going to Lauren, my blonde was brassy and not the right blonde for my skin tone.
