Where do I start...so today is my birthday & I thought why not try somewhere new. I'd seen some photos of Cibi & saw it had a 4 star rating and I thought why not, let's go! So I jumped in the truck with my wife & drove 45 minutes anxiously anticipating delicious food and a great experience. Unfortunately, well..., I could've gotten twice the flavor & half the price at Olive Garden. Keep in mind I think Olive Garden is terrible but it still would've been better. Honestly I probably would've had a better experience hitting a Sbarro in a mall food court. Let's start first with the service. Our waitress was training, today was her first day, so this by no means was her fault. However the lady "training" her was doing anything but that. She was not there to support the new girl who was doing her best. When the training waitress came over finally I asked her about a dish that stated it had Hen of the Woods mushrooms in it & she stated "oh, we don't actually use those mushrooms. It just says that. We use whatever we have laying around". Ummmm, what? I guess that should've been my first clue to leave but instead I went ahead and ordered another dish that stated it had pancetta. Now, I know, based on what I was just told about the mushrooms I should've expected what happened next but when my food was brought to me it had half cooked small cut bacon in place of pancetta. The whole dish tasted like mush filled pasta swimming in bacon fat. There was no flavor other than that and it was very one note on texture. Aside from the strong bacon taste it was very bland as well. Prior to ordering we were fed a line about how the chef is from Italy, and these were his recipes, etc... and assuming this statement was true my best guess is that the chef is here now after being exiled from Italy after trying to serve this there. What I actually think is true is most likely the original chef is no longer there, the restaurant at one time was awesome but is now failing &, the "trainer" waitress is potentially one of the last remaining original workers who is doing her best to hide that she has lost her passion for the place too. To be honest it was sad. The table next to us was also celebrating a birthday and we could over hear their disappointment as well. This was also there first time visiting Cibi & while I did not ask them I am sure that like us, they will not be back. I must also add I saw observed another couple on what appeared to be a date that was there before us , and had still not received their order when I left. The male had gone to to front desk and let the staff know he was still waiting. This is sad. Cibi would be a great candidate for one of those Gordon Ramsay or Robert Irvine restaurant rescue shows. Hopefully something changes soon or I see this place not lasting much longer. read more

I'd say for the all the hype of the owner being from Milan I'd give a solid 2 stars only, and that's a stretch. Had my all time favorite Italian dish (Casio e Pepe) and it was a total bust. Bread was good, water was cold. We were the only customers in the place at 7:30pm no reason for mediocrity. Not a fan. read more

This was our second visit to CiBi's. We went for Mother's Day. It was just ok. The service was extremely slow, but a worker told us that they were short staffed that day. It took us over 2 hours to eat, but we figured since this was Italian, we should just relax and enjoy. The pizza is very good and I love that they have fresh jalapeños! For this reason, we will be back. My spaghetti was cold. My son ordered cacio e pepe and it was fettuccine Alfredo...definitely not cacio e pepe. The lasagna was very good. If you're looking for authentic Italian, I don't know that this is it, however the pizza is worth the trip and time. read more

Decided to do a second visit to this place and had the risotto with pancetta and the scarpinnocc de parre. Both were seasoned very well and had very good flavor. Very tasty small and elegant Italian restaurant in Fort Worth area. Staff was very friendly, food was delicious. Servings are portioned well not a ton but not too small either. The bread is amazing that crunch yum! Removing one star because we specifically came on one of the two days a week they list having the cheese wheel pasta carbonara (Fri / Sat) and they did not in fact have it which was truly the reason for picking this restaurant. We always head to Cibi for Restaurant Week lunch. Delicious and crunchy Piccolo Frito was our appetizer. Hubs had the Casoncelli Alla Bergamesco (pasta with prosciutto, pancetta, sage and pork shoulder). He savored each bite. I had the Scarpinocc Di Parre, a Bergamo-style pasta with butter lemon sauce, so creamy and satisfying. We shared caramel and silky, rich Pane Cotta to end our meal. Cibi is without equal. we have been there 3 times now. First time was very good so we went back with friends. I ordered the Pappardelle Tosco. For $26 I got about 10 pieces of pasta and a little bit of meat in a large copper bowl that dwarfed the dish. i complained to the waiter and his response was "It is very filling." Oh brother! Last night my wife and I decided to give it another go. We went in and and were told by a waitress they were having a wine pairing dinner and we could not be served. After a quick look around and numerous empty tables we told her "Thank you very little. we will not be back." Do not go there. 2 out of 3 bad experiences. We went to sample CiBi's brunch & lunch menus. Located in Willow Park, TX, I had to check the map! Ah yes, only about a 30 minute drive for me. So worth the trip. I'm sure it will be one I'll make many times. Every single dish was phenomenal! The ambiance was chill. These dishes are fresh, hot and made to please! I do not care who you are. True Italian hospitality had us full & satisfied in no time. Despite our best efforts to pace ourselves. Northern Italian must be my favorite. A more spicier and flavorful Italian cuisine. On Thursday I called at 11 am to order a family meal lasagna for a family gathering being held out of town. Lisa, the lady who answered the phone, said I could only order a family meal at dinner time because they were a lot of trouble to make plus she and the chef never get tipped. Ignoring her rudeness, I explained my situation, and she could have cared less. After a few minutes of contemplating my situation, I called back and asked how many lunch portions of lasagna would make a family size lasagna. She reluctantly gave in with an attitude of disgust towards me said they would make it. I thanked her and told her how much I appreciated her doing this for me. When I picked up the family meal, once again, Lisa had the same hateful attitude. We left the next morning with the lasagna in tow. When we were ready to heat up the lasagna, we unwrapped it and were very disappointed. As you can see in the pictures I was embarrassed and very upset. Pieces of burned lasagna plus 4 meatballs with a few spaghetti noodles. Unfortunately, we did not have enough for the family. When we returned, I called and again Lisa answered the phone. Her reply was I don't know what to tell you. Call the owner's wife. I did and that was a cluckity cluck in itself. I asked for a refund and instead received a gift certificate to come back. The food was good, but we did not get what we wanted. They advertised a pasta dish prepared in a flaming wheel of parmesan if you requested it in advance, which we did, but when we arrived it was not available. We specifically went there for that experience, which they advertised on their website. The staff was dismissive and frankly rude about it. We won't go back, even though what we did order was good - pricey but good. Mateo needs to up his game. We were extremely disappointed. There were a total of 4 tables seated including ours. Then the food took foreverrrrr. The lady came out with the first two entrees then 5 mins later with some meatballs for the table because there was an issue with our food. No apologies no conversation no nothing. Let me start off by saying up front I am a pasta snob. I am married to a born and raised Italian. I have been to Italy many times and had the wonderful experience of having an Italian mother in law who came to live with us many times for up to 6 to 9 months at a time. She cooked, omg how she cooked. Okay that being said here is my honest review of our date night at CIBI so if you don't want to read a pasta snob review scroll on by. I was surprised at the restaurant because after seeing videos of them preparing carbonara, my favorite, at the table in a round of parmigiano cheese I thought it would be bigger and maybe a freestanding place. It's in a little strip mall and is pretty small from what we saw. We were seated right away and given menus and ordered waters while we looked over the menus. First thing we noticed was that on the menu it says "No substitutions ". In my Opinion and knowledge of Italians you are not an authentic Italian restaurant and post that on your menu. I mean I can't even ask for spaghetti pasta instead of fettuccine pasta? Or I can't say no to the side and ask for a different one? And they do Carbonara as I mentioned but, and it's a big but, it's only for 2 people so if you and your dinner date don't want to eat the same entree it's off the table. So I couldn't order what I went to the restaurant to try. Moving on, we ordered the arancini for appetizers and were pleasantly surprised. The rice was cooked perfectly and was very close to what we would have In Italy but they use hard mozzarella like you would buy to shred at home to stuff it with so the cheese doesn't melt which is the whole thing with arancini. If they used fresh mozzarella it would be ooey and gooey and perfect. But alas it was not it was a very tasty ball of fried rice with hard chunks of mozzarella in the middle. For entrees the hubs ordered the Casoncelli alla bergamasca. He said the taste was great, sauce was good but the pasta which are like little dumplings, not exactly ravioli but close, were hard at all of the seams/wrinkles. And he likes pasta Al dente but this was a little hard and chewy for his liking. Here's what lowered the stars. I ordered the chicken piccata which on the menu states it comes with roasted vegetables or roasted potatoes. *add side spaghetti $10! I asked for the roasted potatoes and asked if by add side spaghetti they meant like a bowl of spaghetti with red sauce or did that just mean a bowl of spaghetti because spaghetti is a form of pasta it is not a "dish". He explained that they meant a bowl of spaghetti pasta with whatever sauce you want. I said how about if I just want a bowl of pasta with no sauce, so I could put it with my piccata because that's the way I've always had it with a side of plain pasta to soak up the piccata juice so he says yeah we can do that. But I say but I don't want to pay $10 for a bowl of plain pasta and he says yeah we can do that. So chicken piccata was good, not much sauce but good, roasted potatoes were like steak fries, nothing like expected but good and I got a bowl of plain ole spaghetti noodles. Poured them over the chicken and honestly the noodles were the best part. Cooked perfectly and with the saltiness of the sauce... yummy. Then came the bill and they charged me $10 for a bowl of spaghetti noodles! With nothing on them. No oil, no garlic, no sauce a freaking bowl of noodles. Next dessert. I love love love panna cotta and you just don't see it here much so I was overjoyed to see it on the menu. It was I think $8 and it came in a teeny tiny mason jar with a lid and it was maybe, and I'm being generous here, an inch deep. Like we are talking maybe 3 bites! It was amazing, but 3 bites for $8. Naw that in Italy would cost ya a euro maybe! Over $100 bucks for dinner for two before tip and we drank water. Didn't even have a soda or cocktail. One shared app, two entrees and two desserts. The pasta charge took off one star and the second was the hostess acting like my husband was weird for asking to possibly say hey to the chef who is also supposed to be from Italy. Usually he is greeted very nicely by other Italians at restaurants so that was the 2nd strike. The fact that the chef never came out was not the issue I doubt the hostess ever asked him, it was her acting like he was a freak for asking, she apparently doesn't know any Italians. So all in all decent food, not the best in the DFW area for Italian and for the drive and cost involved we wouldn't return. Wanted to love it but just didn't. read more

This was a difficult review. It's rare that a place falls short enough to get me into the 1-2 star range. To begin with, this was our second visit to CiBi...and our second disappointment. I try to avoid rating low based on a single visit if I can help it. We went there for dinner. The restaurant is small and simple. A nice place for a quiet dinner. I really wanted this second visit to be a good one...really, I did. We started off with the focaccia de recco speciale, which is listed as focaccia with prosciutto cotto. The bread was good, but it certainly wasn't like any foccacia any of us had ever had, here in the states or in 20+ years of visits to Italy. And whatever the meat was, it was unlike what we were expecting for prosciutto cotto. Prosciutto cotto is cooked where as prosciutto crudo is dried. The second is what most folks think of when they see prosciutto on a menu. Anyway, it seemed more along the lines of mortadella. I'm not a big fan of mortadella. It almost looked like bologna. I would have passed had I known that was the meat. On our last visit we had ordered the arancini as an appetizer and they were cold in the center. We weren't off to a great start this time either. Among the entrees we ordered were cacio e pepe and spaghetti bolognese. Unfortunately both were very disappointing. The cacio e pepe was swimming in a sauce that more resembled Alfredo sauce and there was no pepper to be found visually or via taste. The spaghetti bolognese was similarly disappointing. I think if it were just called "meat sauce" it would be more aptly named, but again, this was not what any of us would consider a bolognese sauce. Italian food is one of my favorites, and I have been traveling frequently to Italy for over 20 years so, yes, I grade it hard, especially when the prices are on the higher end of the scale as they are here. And I'm ok with things not being "true" to their Italian roots. I mean NYC Italian food is a lot different than Rome or Milan's versions. But if you are going to serve Cacio e Pepe, there needs to be some pepper. We really had hoped this second visit would be better. I doubt we will be back for a third. read more

Dinner for 4 Friday evening April 25. Arrived and seated immediately. Served focaccia bread, but waited 5 minutes to get olive oil and balsa vinegar. Ordered Merlot by the glass, and it was a nice Merlot, but not at $15/glass. Waiter told us about 2 off menu specials, one was lamb with arugula salad. I asked if I could get it with a Caesar salad, but was told no. We all ordered 4 different meals. One had chicken piccata who said was good. One had lasagna, also reported as good. One had the fish (Sea Bass) off-menu special and said it was good. All reported their meals were good, but nothing special, and certainly not great. I ordered the meat pizza, with mushroom and bell peppers as add-ons ($2 each). I also ordered the Caesar Salad. The salad was very poor, especially for $12. Very little bland dressing, no anchovy flavor, didn't even taste like Caesar dressing. Croutons were stale with no seasoning. No Parmesan cheese at all on the salad. The salad was not deserving even 1 star... unforgivable for an "upscale" Italian restaurant. Pizza was good, but they didn't add either the mushrooms or the bell peppers. They did remove the charges. Had to wait another 5 minutes for my second glass of wine. Again, pizza was good, but not special or great. Finally, it was a Friday evening & the restaurant was fairly crowded, but there were only 2 waiters; one man who waited for our table, and one woman. I felt sorry for the 2 waiters, but it's CiBi's fault. This was our second time to eat at CiBi's, both for dinner. The first time was a little better, without any problems with the orders. But both times the food was good/okay, but certainly not to be considered "upscale", and it is very pricey for the quality delivered. We will not be back again. My recommendation is to not select CiBi's for your dining experience. read more

Nice little place! This was our first time here. Our Horseshoer's wife recommended it and what a nice place. Good food well prepared and presented. Very fairly priced. They even gave us a free tiramisu! Definitely worth coming back. One recommendation would be to get some non alcoholic beverages on your extensive menu. We don't drink but love mocktails! read more

The first time we went the service was the worst if any restaurant. When we ordered wine the waiter wouldn't bring it and was adamant we needed to buy. Different bottle that cost more. We waited a couple of years and went back and the service was great. The food was sooooo good. Fresh hand made pasta. Nice wine selection. Quiet atmosphere. We arrived on a Friday night at 6:20 for our 6:30 reservation. We were greeted by a man I believe was the owner with a genuine smile. He said he had to clean a table and would be back. There is no seating in the entrance and we waited a very uncomfortable 10 minutes. I looked around and saw three tables that were clean but we just had to wait. The wine menu appears to be in Italian. Which is great if you're in Italy. I know a little about wine and I struggled to understand the menu. I ordered Nero d'Avola (Talent maybe) and my husband asked for tea. No tea! Only water and wine. Weird. Our waiter Luis was nice and attentive. We ordered the meatballs and a Polpette which is a supreme pizza. It was good but not great. As busy as it was I was expecting spectacular. The table beside us did have an exciting meal as the kitchen rolled out a big thing of cheese and lit it on fire. I'm not sure what was happening but it was quite the exciting show. We ordered cannoli for dessert and they were absolutely the best part of the meal. The meal was $66 before tip which is good. It just fell short for me. Small neighborhood restaurant where chef obviously prepares food with LOVE. Divine! We ordered the Caesar salad followed by Casoncelli Alla Bergman's which was Fresh pasta stuffed with beef in a delicious sage butter sauce with crispy prosciutto. I used my leftover bread to soak up the sauce it was so delicious. Don't leave without sharing the panna cotta.
