Hooray for Pizza! At the time of this review (not sure if it's still on-going, but this review was posted October 2025) Cibo has 50% off of all pizzas on Tuesdays! This was a great deal, and their kitchen (at least their pizza kitchen) is open concept so you can order your pizzas and watch as they're all made from scratch, tossed into the oven and then served! We'd ordered a few pizzas including a chicken pesto and what I remember as a pepperoni and hot pepper pizza, as well as a cheese pizza and something with hot sausage. Overall everything was cheesey and delicious and the servers had excellent wine recommendations. The server was amazing and gave us a small focaccia on the house for that long wait. The apps and food were all enjoyed. The consensus is that the food was good enough, but pricey for what we got. We cane here for their "Tuesday Half Price Pizza" and enjoyed the ambiance, food and the service. The restaurant is beautifully designed and spread through multiple sections. They also have 4 dining rooms for private events. You can watch the chef making pizza in front of you, if you're sitting on the top floor. They provide a great customer experience. We tried "Mozzarella di Bufala", "di Nicolino" and "Mortadella". You can add parmesan cheese or pepper to your pizza. The food was fresh and delicious. Came here for my birthday dinner on Saturday and they were able to accommodate a last minute reservation for a table of four after a miscommunication with a previous restaurant. The hosts were very nice and had us seated promptly. The music was good, it was a playlist of current pop music that changed to a live DJ at 10pm. I was seated at a table right by the bar and was greeted by the server almost immediately. She poured me a glass of water and took drink orders. I ordered the Cibo sangria with white wine. It was refreshing and not too sweet. To start, we got two orders of the arancini and one order of bruschetta. The arancini was so delicious! Such a crispy exterior that provides a nice crunch. The melted cheese in the middle was to die for, and I like that the marinara sauce was on the side to prevent the arancini balls from getting soggy. The bruschetta was nice but could have used a bit more of the balsamic vinegar. Some of the bread was also a bit charred. Other than that, the tomatoes tasted really fresh. For my main, I ordered the pappardelle. Oh my goodness, I can't stop thinking about how good this pasta was! The slow cooked lamb ragu blew me away. The lamb was so tender. I only wish that there were bigger pieces of the lamb. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. I did add some crushed red pepper flakes to my pasta which I think really enhanced the flavours of the sauce. I definitely recommend ordering this dish. I finished off the dinner with a Nutella pizza. It's essentially Nutella spread on pizza crust topped with banana slices and chopped hazelnuts. This is a good option for sharing as it is a huge dessert. You can't go wrong with Nutella! The only issue I had was the server did not check up on our table very often unless we flagged her down. I was also disappointed as she brought the dessert out to the table with the candle on it for my birthday but not everyone was at the table. One of my guests was in the washroom and she still brought out the dessert with the lit candle. My water glass was also empty for a significant portion of the dinner and it was almost impossible to order second drinks. When it came time to pay, someone else was taking care of us as our server had actually left for the evening. Overall, I love the food and the atmosphere at Cibo and I will definitely be returning to explore more of their menu! read more

This made it extremely hard to see the menu and we had to use our phone flashlight to read (we looked around and we were not the only ones doing it). This Lobster Ravioli was creamy, simple, and filling. My only thing about this was that the lobster was slightly fishy. But, the sauce was delicious and paired wonderfully with the focaccia. I will admit, I found that that the ravioli was a little pricy for its portion. The real star of the meal was the focaccia. The experience was a horror fest! If I could give it a zero out of five, I would love to. We had a reservation for six people, and we were seated. They brought us a cup of water for the whole table.. until we asked for more. They took our order after a while of waiting, and then it took another 50 minutes to get our food to our table. This was already way too long considering the dining room looked nearly empty. It didn't make sense, but we wanted the food to let it speak. We got one wrong order initially, and that's fine. Mistakes happen. We let them know, and it took another 15-20 minutes to get to our table. They gave us focaccia bread as an apology for the wait. It was quite fluffy. The gnocchi was simple, nothing special, and it had 4 whole cloves that were not soft at all. The frittata was slightly tastier, but it was just a little bit undercooked. The pancakes were the tastiest, but they were dense. I assume that is due to the ricotta, but can't complain as it tasted pretty good. Better almost better than everything else. But then the polenta fries. If you ever go here, which I do not recommend, go for these only. After our service, we asked to see the manager, and he came over. We told him about everything and his response was "let me go check if what time the food was punched in." This was unwarranted. I understand wanting to see the truth, but it could have been as simple as not telling us, and going to check. I do not believe this person should be a manager at all. They do not know how to speak to customers at all. When he came back, he said "it took 45 minutes to get to you, not an hour, but would you like a dessert as a compliment?" Considering how long it took for the food to get to us, we decided to let it be as we just wanted to go to our next location. While waiting for the server to get to us, the same pizza that we did not order tried to serve it to us. We told them it was not ours, and they insisted it was not ours. They took it back when we declined, they seemed to be offended. A few minutes later, another server came with the same order.. I do not understand what happened here, but this server was much nicer. We ended up having to tip our server in cash, because we did not feel as the interaction with anyone else deserved our server to tip out to them. We had a company party here for a group of about 10 of us. We booked out a little private room with one long dining table. It was pretty cozy in there without seeming like you were super isolated. They had printed menus with our company name and the special menu that was customized for us that day. Food service was pretty thoughtful. Our dedicated waitress came in to check on us often and make sure we were ready for our next course. The standout items were the short rib and the polenta fries! They have a pretty good non-alcoholic menu although I do not recommend getting their no-groni which was a play on the negroni. It was actually awful lol and made using alcohol-free gin. The drinkers I was with all tasted it and confirmed it did not taste like a negroni at all. In our small room, there were 2 large screen TVs in there that were playing loops of all the celebrities that have visited and items on the menu. Best espresso martini I've every had (I've had a lot). I ate the fluffy ricotta pancakes. 10/10. It only comes with 2 pancakes, but they were so fluffy, and so big. Stepping into the restaurant on a cool afternoon and sitting on the upper level made the pizza oven felt so much hotter than it really was until we acclimated. Nice brunch menu with mimosas for $14 each or bottomless mimosas for $30, so no contest in that. Full regular menu was also available. We ordered and waited a long time for our meals to arrive. We observed other tables receive their food even though they ordered after us. We also saw another patron whisper there was a cockroach crawling on the banquette and Vicky chased it down and apologized profusely. Vicky apologized for the delay when the food was served. The ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote, roasted peaches with mascarpone were a fluffy and substantial serving. The frittata with blistered cherry tomatoes and caramelized onions was tasty. The eggs benedict were likely prepared first and sat for the rest of the meal to be made as the eggs were hard cooked by the time they came to us--and with eggshells as a crunchy surprise. We didn't have a chance to quietly tell Vicky about the eggs and eggshells until the end of the meal and said we should have told him earlier. That was disappointing. We asked for one last mimosa and were told they were not available after 3pm. It would have been nice to have been told that and if Vicky could have offered a refill just before 3. In my continual search for my Toronto replacement for my ultimate fungi pizza, the latest search brought me to Cibo on a Friday night. Luckily the weather was cooperating and we snagged the last seats on their narrow side patio. We had a drink and shared the fungi pizza. If you like the deep earthy flavours of mushrooms, this is the pizza for you. The cheese and mushroom pairing is perfect. The extra touch of truffle oil pushes the flavour to an extra level of delicious. Prices are expensive but I'm willing to come once in while for more fungi pizza. read more

Trust me when I say this, the place was jam packed. I couldn't even get a place to sit at the bar as we waited for the waitress to come seat us. She was awesome and accommodated my horrible planning. Moving on to the wine, I loved the selection. I'm really picky about my red wine and this place had a good Merlot and Pinot noir selection. I came here with a few friends for my birthday and we had an awesome waiter! He was super welcoming and friendly. The food was fine, I got the grilled octopus (pictured) which was not super memorable and I probably wouldn't get it again. On the plus, it wasn't super pricey. However, my biggest gripe with Cibo was their severely sub-par service when dealing with my friend's allergies. My friend had specified from the get-go that she's severely allergic to dairy products, and we were ensured that they would do their best. Great! However, upon eating her meal, there must have been some cross contamination as she began to have a reaction. Mistakes are fine, but the manager (or someone in charge) proceeded to come out and tell us that "there's no way there was any cross contamination", insinuating that my friend was faking (???) this reaction. It was super uncomfortable and quite frankly inappropriate and unprofessional. It's a nice atmosphere, and easy to book reservations at, but I definitely won't be back anytime soon due to this poor display of customer service. read more

The flavour was fine, though there was no seasoning. But, the skin should be crispy, not fatty and gummy. You sear it on a pan and then put it in the oven to seal in the juices and crisp the skin. For $35 delivered, this is a pretty bad flaw. The veggies were good, but very oily and there weren't enough carrots. One pocket held a mouthful of salt. If you want good free run chicken with tons of veg, Sambucas on Church still rules. read more

I don't like to give 1-star ratings but Cibo does not deserve anything more. I'd hate to see other people waste their money here when there are so many other great restaurants on King Street. As a party of 6, we made sure to make reservations ahead of time. For a Saturday brunch, we were surprised to see the restaurant mostly empty, with only 2-3 other tables. Yet, somehow so much went wrong. The glassware was dirty, chipped, and should not be used. Their cold brew espresso martini tasted like watered-down baileys. We waited an hour for our food - and when we were finally served, they got an order wrong and needed to be corrected. Not what you'd expect when there were no other tables to be served. When my friend asked what to do about the wrong meal that was brought to her, after checking with the kitchen, the server responded with, "the kitchen will throw it out anyway, so you can have it". Ironically, she, later on, comments that they "took care of" the mistake meal, as a favour. Oddly enough, as we finished our food, another server came by and tried to serve us a pizza that we did not order. We politely decline and told him it was not ours, yet, he insisted that it was. Again, we reiterated that it was not ours and declined. It seemed as though we offended him; this server was hellbent on it was our mistake. To my disbelief, a minute or two after, another server comes back with the same pizza (albeit, nicer this time) and checked with us again. Once again, we politely declined as it was not ours and reiterated what we had ordered. Embarrassed, he apologized and took it back to the kitchen. It sounds like the other server was convinced otherwise and had his co-worker to try serving it to us again. Nothing about this visit was sitting well with any of us. At this point, we just wanted to pay and leave. The busboy had come by to clear our table, as waited for our server to come by, so we could ask for the bill. Another 15-20 minutes goes by, while our server had passed by our table numerous times and ignored us before we decided to ask for a manager. Our interaction with the manager was no better. We shared our many concerns and when pointing out we had to wait over an hour for our food, he responds with, "Oh, let me see what time the food order was punched in" and returned to tell us, "Your order took 45 minutes to arrive after being punched in, it didn't take an hour but still a little long." WOW. Rather than approaching the situation professionally and apologetically, the manager on duty was snobby and condescending. After that interaction with the manager, it is clear why the rest of the staff is the way they are. Great service can make up for bad food, but great food can't make up for bad service. Cibo Wine Bar had neither. The food was mediocre, with some dishes being OK, at best. Cibo used to be good, once upon a time, years back. I should've paid closer attention to their recent reviews. It is pretty evident now, that they've gone downhill. Save yourselves the headache and a bad meal; There are many restaurants nearby where you'll get much better food and experience. read more

The space is also quite huge and when you enter, you are graced with the presence of their huge glass wine room. We were seated in the bar area, (we had a party of 5) at a tall table. I was kind of hoping we'd get a shorter table, but no mind. Our server took our drink order, read off some specials and then left us to mull over the menu. I ordered a Negroni drink to start and then we got a few appetizers with our food: * 2 orders polenta fries * 1 ordered funghi platter The polenta was delicious and the mushrooms were meaty and seasoned well. The bread that also comes to the table was so delicious. The drinks were good and strong, too! For dinner I ordered their seasonal risotto with vegetables and it was so creamy and cooked to perfection. They have a wide variety of pastas and Italian main plates and a lot of options can be made vegetarian and also made with gluten-free pasta. For dessert we split a Nutella pizza and the tiramisu. I visited this location on New Year's Eve for dinner. They were well-staffed and had plenty of tables for seating. Food came slowly but it's to be expected on a busy day. Part of the kitchen is open so you could see the staff working and some were not wearing a mask while preparing food so that was disappointing to see. The food was decent, but there are other Italian restaurants I would prefer to dine at.
