This place has the friendliest staff and a great vibe. The coffee is great too. I go here for my morning coffee every time I visit the city.

A friend of mine told me about this cafe, so I dropped over here during the middle of my Sunday bike ride. Since I live about a mile away, it's much easier to get to places on my bike. This cafe is in a section where several other small restaurants and cafes coexist. I definitely liked the vibe of the area, and the cafe as well. It's rather small, and there's no clear signage to indicate your at the right ace, but o ce you find it, it's worth the effort. The have about ten tables inside of the restaurant, as well as, outside in front which is where I sat. We ordered two cafe lattes con me he almond, and it was pretty good. We also ordered a side of toast with marmelada (jelly) sauce. The have good WiFi and there wasn't any loud music going on, which could make it conducive for working. The Staff that I encountered were just ok, not super friendly by any stretch.

Cicatriz is a trendy coffee shop in a little circular area with other shops and lots of outdoor seating. Needing coffee in the mornings, Cicatriz's high online rating guided us to their coffee bar. My wife ordered an iced latte (they don't have decaf) and I a hot latte. We both loved the taste, the quality of beans and creaminess. If you like coffee, we recommend!

Roasted carrots with tahini yogurt, macha sauce & herbs / eggs with tomato salt / avocado toast

We came here every morning during our stay! They have smooth coffee and delicious food (get the braised short rib sandwich, the eggs with tomato salt, and the carrots with herbs+tahini!!!) that's served aside a cute fountain by a parklet. The people are friendly and were very patient with my very novice-level Spanish. We can't wait to be back and I think about it every day!

November 20th is a holiday in Mexico City, most restaurants closed early. My fiancé and I were stuck on were to go...luckily we thought about this place which we saw while walking... They have a very small food menu, the fried avocado sandwich was delicious...tons of bread if your watching the carbs lol. My fiancé ordered the fried chicken sandwich & wasn't impressed. And we both decided that the roasted broccoli had good flavor but it was served slightly cold & cooked way too long. Lastly we had drinks, now I'd say this should be the spot to chill and drink alcohol or maybe coffee(which we didn't try).

They have a nice selection of spirits too!

This is a great little cafe/coffee spot. They have a small but well curated menu of New American sort of dishes. The espresso is great. There's wifi and some outlets. It's located off s little plaza so there's a nice view as well.

This place is over rated. The latte taste like old coffee and the dinner was super expensive. Also became very sick not good.

Our goal was to score spots at the small bar. This place is small overall and if you want to have the tasting experience I suggest trying for a spot at the bar top. We spent some time at the small restaurant next door and enjoyed some great tacos and a quesadilla while we waited. The server let us know as soon as the bar opened and we dashed over to get our spots. We had a fluent Spanish speaker with us, so that was a huge help. Their Mezcal selection is organized by region and they were happy to consult on our preferences. Shots were generous and served with fresh orange slices, sometimes seasoned with a spice blend. We also sampled an ague fresca with ginger and tamarind that was great with the spirits. Music selection was crazy, obscure Japanese goth music maybe? It somehow went perfectly with the vibe of the place.

Just confidently walk into the storefront food shop with a large table and chairs and ten then you have a reservation! They were very friendly and waved us in off the sidewalk as we were a bit bewildered (and didn't have reservations; just hoping and praying). Once inside the dark, very busy space with a couple rooms, long bar and some booth seating, the friendly, English speaking, knowledgeable staff will explain the large cocktail menu (many which can be made without alcohol if that's your thing). There is a creative beverage for every palate and there is a section dedicated to collaborations with mixologists from all over the world. Will definitely return to sample several more of these unique drinks. And also the food, which were didn't try as we came after dinner.

It's considered the "OG speakeasy" of the city and focus on creative cocktails from around the world. We didn't realize that the storefront was a simple looking restaurant so we kept walking back and forth. The entrance to the bar was in the back leading us to a completely different space. We made reservations and it's pretty much required to have one to be seated. Depending on your table size you might also have to share a table with others but they also have bar counter space. Their main menu of 12 cocktails were all made by the bartenders there. Part of the menu also contained cocktails from other bars around the world. The end of the menu was rounded out with classic cocktails with a Hanky Panky twist. Our party of five ordered most of the 12 main cocktails and some of the others. My favorites were the il fresco (peachy and coffee-y), grand bazaar (most spirit forward drink they have), and hanky panky (fat-washed with cacao nibs and menthol from fernet branca). All of the drinks were great though. The hot dog was also delicious! When we left we walked out of a Modelo "fridge" which was unique. The space and the vibes really were the definition of "speakeasy" because it was such a cool space. The environment was so fun and we had such a good time here.

I say seated with parenthesis because most people end up standing here but we got lucky that a couple was leaving as we were right next to them after being asked our drink orders. It's kind of a weird system that they have and I think the staff didn't realize we didn't have our drink orders taken yet and asked the people behind us for theirs which was slightly annoying. It was a bit chaotic so I can see why it happened, but I do think they need a slightly better system. Anyways, the drinks were excellent and I love that they gave us a little small snack that included crickets (which I hadn't tried before yet). The vibes in here are really nice too. I love the dim lighting and the almost rock/clay atmosphere. The bathroom area is smaller than I was expecting but it was ok. I'd definitely return!
