Stuffed banana peppers were so good that I forgot to take a picture before!

Good service, good food, great experience! So happy we stopped in! We started with the too many appetizers because the selection was huge! Smothered fries: they had a crispy breading that kept it's crunch even after the gravy and cheese sat for a bit. Loved! Stuffed banana peppers: I would come back just to have this as my main entree. It's spicy so be ready! Fried pickles: they are pickle spears, but too much breading, our favorite! They have a kids menu with was classic. Grilled cheese, chix tenders, mac n cheese bites. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the Uncle Charleys sausage sandwich. We were stuffed!

    Chicken broccoli alfredo, yummy!!

With 50 years of experience (he and his wife own this place), you can take advantage of the twilight of his career and the height of his experience. Flavio's is a dress-up sit-down fine dining experience. It was clean, with ample parking in its private lot next door. Lots of one-way roads so be aware of that. We arrived at 4:55. Could not go inside until 5:05. We had reservations. The place started to fill up to 50% capacity (10 tables total, maybe 20 could be fit if needed) around 6:30pm. Somehow we left around 7:45pm, even though our main course was finished at 6:30pm. This is an experience, not a quick bite to eat. There is a bar but you can't just walk in and go there. Everyone was seated in the dining room, which has two parts. My 79 -year old father was told that this was the best filet mignon in the entire United States and I agree that it is very well done perfectly medium rare at request with a crusty exterior and perfect grill marks. The seafood and gnocci pasta plate looked amazing but was enjoyed by someone else at our table, but it looked really good. Everything has an upcharge so expect to drop some cash. Get the Petite Syrah no 48 wine to compliment your dinner. You won't regret it. We had the seasoned potatos, it's OId Bay seasoning, similar to steak fries but made from a baked potato. Very nice. We had the broccoli, it was wonderful. I had the caeser salad, it was fine. Lots of cheese and anchovies are an option. We had it with our meal. Upcharge $5 ... People liked the italian dressing on their house salads but it was nothing spectacular or memorable. Upcharge $5 .. they also offer the classic "Wedge" salads as an option for $7. The standard marinara was nothing to write home about. My wife complained her Chicken Provencial was too sweet. Her side of penne alla marinara was boring. The gnocci was great though. Have the gnocci. For my side, I paid an upcharge of $7.50. The spaghetti or linguine or whatever it was was obviously a prepped reheat, whereas the gnocci were made on the spot, and the penne is the standard side so at least it was made that night. I had the puttanesca. It had too many onions, but the olives were nice. My default choices were penne or gnocci with marinara, or a potato (baked or "seasoned" as fried sticks). Dessert: We shared a piece of cheesecake with the table, and it tastes like tiramisu. I had to force the rest of it down since no one would finish it. It had a spongy tiramisu-like bottom and was flavored of lemons. I suspect it was made in house. My wife had the Spumoni. She liked it but didn't finish it. I had the Jamaican Coffee (liquor coffee drink). It was fine but overall not necessary to finish your meal and very sweet. We had the oysters (broiled). Good. I personally like them "on the half shell" but no one was willing. 6 oysters. We had the shrimp cocktail. Nice shrimp, great horse radish. 5 shrimp. We tipped well. Over 30% because how much longer this place will be in operation is anyone's guess. It's possible, if you are choosy, to spend less than $50 on your meal but we spent well over that each. Four people $313 with a lot of upcharges and top-end dishes, a bottle of Syrah, 1 beer, desserts and three apps and everyone got a salad (cost extra). Oh yeah the bread. It was fine. Reminiscent of "Mancini's" .. hard crust fluffy airy interior. Was not the most amazing bread but it fit the place.

We shared hot stuffed peppers with the amazing rustic homemade bread served with it and more bread was brought because we couldn't get enough of it! We had the following entrees. The on special tonight crab cake was huge and it was all crab meat, no filler but somehow she had it formed in the perfect crab cake formation. Delish. Also with a side of thin spaghetti. Two of us had the braciole atop a thin pasta. Out of this world delicious. And finally the veal Parmesan with a side of thin spaghetti was fabulous. We missed out on some of the homemade pies offered earlier in the night and shared two spumoni sundae looking creations! Anna came out to meet us which topped off our fabulous evening and we chatted about our Italy roots. She is absolutely beautiful and we said you look so fresh after preparing all this for us - she has an Italian secret I am sure! Class, kindness, and warmness accompanied by delicious cuisine keeps her patrons coming back. All staff were wonderful and we thank Gina for her attentiveness and fun. We'll be back! Anna's is on our top list! Price reasonable and worth more than the dollars spent. Thank you. Buon appetito!

So here we go: the restaurant is several generations of ownership. When you walk in, you will be greeted by very gregarious young lady by the name of Taylor and she is part of the family who owns the restaurant. The restaurant is very modern with open space seating. When you walk in, there is a gelato station right there. The Staff is very attentive very engaging and very accommodating to your needs. Let's get into the food. The calamari you see in the picture was heavily breaded and the oil it was deep-fried in was old, so it clumped everything together, and you got more of a burnt breaded taste than the ability to taste the calamari not good at all. I had the pasta Primavera that was cooked perfect and the spices were out of this world. It had some heat. I had their tomato salad with hot peppers and anchovies. The salad was good. My critique on this would be the tomatoes they weren't ripe and juicy as described in the menu. Would I go back yes but it wouldn't be my top priority, but worth a try.

Honestly they probably would have preferred Stove Top though. Green beans - very tasty but not great as a leftover Cranberry chutney - ok, I love the canned stuff but this was truly a hit. Rolls and butter - literally such delicious butter! Apple pies - they were more like empanadas. I was expecting mini round pies. The crust was amazing but the apples were a bit tart. The pickup was easy and seamless. Everything was packed well. Thank you! We can't wait to come in to eat soon.

Our waitress Ellie was attentive, patient, and helpful for our party of 9. She was even willing to give some of the guests tea bags from her own stash! Our group of 9 tried almost everything on the menu. They have a small menu with a few appetizers and main courses along with some desserts. Because we were a larger group, at least one of us got something on the menu. We also shared, so I tried many of the dishes! They gave us an amuse bouche, which was aracini with caramelized onions and peppers. DELICIOUS. I wanted more. We also got foccacia with an oil dipping sauce. The focaccia was denser than usual, but I loved it! Here's what we tried: [Sausage Greens & Beans]: A traditional Italian dish that was absolutely delicious. There was so much flavor between the panchetta, beans, escarole, and sausage. This dish was out of my comfort zone but so delightful. [Crispy Brussel Sprouts]: Man! These were good. They were perfectly charred and paired with a spicy sauce that took this dish to the next level. [Wedding Soup]: A little non-traditional since their noodles were much larger, but I loved the denser meatballs. [Caesar Salad]: My husband loved this dish! The croutons made the dish extra, and it was well dressed and slightly lemony. [Warm Mushroom Salad]: I hate mushrooms but I loved this. The rosemary smoked mushrooms were the star of this dish. [Shrimp Risotto]: This was so creamy and flavorful! [Chicken Marsala]: This dish was out of this world! The rosemary smoked mushrooms gave this dish a perfectly smokey flavored. The chicken was stuffed and accompanied with lyonnaise potatoes that were so crispy and delicious. [Roasted Veggie Rolled Lasagna]: Wow was this dish flavorful. The variety of vegetables were perfect, and the roaster red pepper ricotta in the middle was just what this dish needed. [Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie]: This was the perfect fall dessert. Apple turnovers, peaches, and pumpkin pie mousse. The perfection portion and not overly sweet! This restaurant made it to my top 5, and it was so delicious. All of the flavors were so complex! You need to try this restaurant or you'll really be missing out! I cannot wait to try more items on their menus as their specials and menu changes. Such a hidden gem!

My wife, who's Italian, wants to take this +1 hour trip several times a year just to come here because it reminds her of the various "Mom & Pop" restaurants of her hometown in northeast PA. The inside has a cozy/hometown feel with pictures of their family all over the walls. I don't think much has changed to the interior in those 20 years and that's okay by me. For this outing we opted for the antipasta salad, Italian wedding soup, veal parm and stuffed manicotti. Their dishes are more traditional italian (i.e. not olive garden) and they offer lunch, half, or full-sized portions. Their gravy has a good balance between sweet and savory. They also make a great fresh baked loaf of bread and they're happy to bring several to the table throughout the course. It was a special occasion so we closed out the night with their famous strawberry cheesecake. Service was excellent and the bill, with several drinks, was around $60 for 2.
