This place is 5 star! Every time I go which is once a wee for salmon or steak it is amazing.

Oh. My. God. This place is FABULOUS. We went for a birthday dinner with the family we were visiting. We first pulled up and I had very low expectations. But most entrees are $12-15. You get a salad before hand, your entree, a side of pasta, potatoes and a veggie. Plus they bring you bread before hand. Can't beat these prices ANYWHERE. All our food tasted amazing and we enjoyed all of it. Our party had no complaints whatsoever. We all scarfed down our foods! Our waitress was incredibly attentive and sweet. She even remembered my husbands family as regulars and remembered the last time she waited on them. We got in the car and said we needed to come back here!! read more

The food is good and our waitress did a good job. Things went wrong when it came to my take out order. Waited over an hour. When I talked to the manager she was rude and gave me the excuse of being busy and that my to go order was placed after a party of 15. Don't know how that happened when I placed the order when our drinks came and before that party was seated. I was offered a free desert, but declined. Appetizer came out at the same time as the entree but whatever, not a huge issue. The issue was with the pasta dish my husband and I both ordered. It was supposed to have shrimp, scallops and crab in it with a garlic oil sauce. The tiny scallops were like rubber, I couldn't even chew them, only 3 small shrimp and the crabmeat was MIA, at best a shredded teaspoon full at the bottom of the flavorless pasta. My cat eats bigger pieces of crab In her canned cat food. The cat food would probably have been an improvement over this dish. No owner or manager to be found. TERRIBLE service. The WORST. Our waitress spilled a beer on me. She then handed me a couple of paper napkins and walked away. No apology, no considerations or adjustments. All throughout our dining, this same waitress never attempted to clear any empty plates from our table. This restaurant was hardly, even busy. No checking in on us, and of course, no chances of getting any drink refills. As far as the food: PATHETIC !!! To start off, the dinner salads barely covered the plate. This plate was not much bigger than a saucer. It was comprised of just a few leafy greens, and one and a half cherry tomatoes. There were four if us dining together, and it was universally pitiful. My veal parm dinner was served on chipped plate, not a platter. The potatoes and carrots???, cover up more of the plate than did the piece of meat. Oh yeah the side pasta was a tiny cup of dry, luke warm penne. (You didn't have a choice) This is a business that a year ago, I would have highly recommended. I can now only hope, that anyone we had taken there, forgets about it. This owner obviously does't care about you or me. What a TERRIBLE SHAME!!! I accidentally bumped the One Star on the rating. The food was great, however the service was awful! It's possibly the worst service experience I ever had. We waited about 10 - 15 min for a table, which was fine as it was dinnertime on Sunday. We then waited about 15 min before our server came over to take our drink order. We had already had time to review the menu so we also placed our food order. Salads and bread came out fairly quickly, but that was the end of that. We waited over an hour and a half for our entrees. We ordered lasagna which is already made and just needs heated up. In that time our waitress never came over to check on us, walked past our table several times and never took dirty salad plates away or asked if we wanted more tea (we did). Meanwhile the other waitress in that section seemed to be bringing food out to her tables much more quickly. The young man seating people and cleaning tables actually came over to take our dishes, we asked him about desserts and he told us all of them and put our order in to go. He also told our waitress we needed our bill. Then another waitress brought our bill and took care of it. We normally tip at least 20% but she did not deserve it. So she got 10% and we gave the other 10% to the host who did more for us than the waitress. How do you ignore your table for an hour and a half! read more

I live in Pittsburgh and I come to Ford City to visit my Mother often, who usually enjoys cooking for me and my girlfriend. Occasionally we do go out and eat and this is where we usually go, we even had a big birthday dinner there for my niece. I have always had a very good meal and service. Their portions are generous and I usually take something home with me. I know that I will return and look forward to eating there again. I would give it a 5 Star but the place needs updated a bit. It is a bit dark in there, dark ceiling and dark carpet, but this will not stop me from eating there again. read more

Garda's did the catering for a wedding this weekend at our venue. They did a super job, food was set up on time and tasted great. The staff was wonderful, they did everything to make the bride and groom's day special. Wish all vendors were this dedicated. read more

I have decided to give them a 4-star rating. Because on Wednesdays is there prime rib day. So I threw them a curveball and ordered from the menu and they were thrown for a curve they didn't know what to do. So if you follow the days of the week of the food that they serve you will very well get a great a great meal but if you want something that they are not prepared to make then you're screwed. So the dude manager offered me a $10 discount on my next meal. So I just told him I'm just going to stick with falsetti's Villa which I am used to and very happy with but I was hoping that they could meet their quality and I was very very disappointed. I have been there twice and had two awful experiences. Once before my senior prom, and 8 years later a friend convinced me that it was worth another shot, and I regret giving it that second shot. The food was very unsettling, like the flavor combination was bad. I think they add something to the sauce that makes it have that bad aftertaste that I didn't like. The pasta was mushy, the salad had hair in it, I did like the bread though. I think that this place is not worth the money and it's in a bad location. read more

This would have been a 5 star rating had we had a better waitress. Cora was our waitress and we were extremely disappointed. She got our drinks and order promptly but never came back to ask if we wanted a refill. We were there for almost an hour on one drink each. She also failed to ask if anyone wanted dessert before bringing our check. We are huge fans of the food here and our meals were excellent. Ugh!!! This place used to be so good now I will not be back. If you don't know what real italian cooking is than you will enjoy this place. Went on a Monday and not a lot of people but their was dirty tables everywhere. The pasta was over cooked and the red sauce is awful so much garlic. I had the vodka sauce it was mediocre. We had Garda's cater our outdoor wedding reception. The food was fabulous! Our guests especially enjoyed the make-your-own pasta bar. The staff was so accomodating to our needs. My husband and I live close by and used to go to Garda's or order take out at least once,,, sometimes twice a week. They always bring a basket of bread and garlic toast right after they deliver your drinks and also followed by your salad with their heavenly home made balsamic dressing. The bread is always fresh and served with real butter making it even more scrumptious. However, the garlic toast is usually dry and cold. My husband and I have joked and laughed about how they probably save the garlic toast off of other patrons' plates when they don't eat it. A few weeks back we went on one of our usual trips to Garda's. Drink orders taken, drinks delivered,,,, basket of bread in front of us along with our salads and yummy balsamic. I had a piece of the usual cold dry garlic toast with my salad. I love garlic toast so I can't pass it up cold or not. I then notice my husbands hand come up in front of my face and hear him ask "What is this?". I pull my head back and bring into focus the item in his hand. It's a piece of garlic toast,,, with a bite out of it!!! I automatically assume he is pulling a prank and as I am asking him if he is joking he is implying that I took a bite out of the toast to pull a prank on him. After a few seconds of absorbing each others comments we realized that neither one of us had taken a bite out of that toast. I will spare you the boring details after the realization that they had actually given us "recycled/upcycled" garlic toast but I do want to share their fix. They gave us our appetizer for free. SERIOUSLY?!?! First of all I don't believe we even stayed there and ate our meals after that. How stupid are we? Then we paid for them? Obviously we made a poor decision. But in retrospect I truly can't believe that they didn't offer us more than just a free $5.00 appetizer. I don't even care that they didn't offer us our meals for free. What I do care about is they didn't even try to offer an explanation to the bite out of the toast. They didn't even try to offer a fabrication of What happened. And no apology? This was one of the most awful customer service experiences and was the absolute most awful restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. Saving food off of someone else's plate and giving it to another customer is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. The lack of sincerity after the fact is mind blowing. The fact that this is obviously a routine act considering the waitress was not really bothered by it is so unsettling. What else may they be saving to serve to the next person? Take from this review what you will and make a decision for yourself however, I will not be returning to eat leftovers. read more

Food was very good but as soon as we entered I noticed how unkempt the place was. It was dirty inside and the carpeting was filthy and had a bad odor. Carpeting should have been replaced as it was beyond cleaning. Anyway mostly all restaurants today don't use carpeting as there are better flooring choices that clean easily from dirt and spills. Also the Windows, doors, tables and chairs were dusty and you could hardly see out the glass windows. There were 4 or more waitresses and waiter working there and they were not busy as there were only a couple of customers yet they made no attempts to clean the trash from the floor or do any of the work that obviously needed to be done. They were loafing at the bar most of the time. Glad they were not employed by me! In the past when the Garda family ran this restaurant it was clean and very nice place. Went to Garda's on 12/15 for lunch with my wife, daughter, & her fiance. Was surprised when the dining room was empty at 1:30pm & didn't expect much. Was I wrong. I had the Chicken Romano & even though the chicken was slightly overcooked, it was still very good. The portion was huge, which was good because I was very hungry. Everybody else's meals looked ample & delicious. Hope to go back next time we're up there. read more

I along with 5 friends ate at the restaurant on Saturday and my one friend ordered chicken parm and I ordered veal parm. When it was delivered she got mine and I got hers. We took a bite and new it was wrong. Waitress was not happy because we wanted our order right. She took them back and they were back in no more than 5 minutes. and the meat was cut like we had cut it and the veal was burnt. So we feel that they just took the meat back and threw it back on the grill and put some new pasta with it. We had to ask for refill on our drink. Service was about as bad as it gets.We were seated right away and given our menus. then we waited and waited 15 min we asked the hostess if they knew we were there .20 min the hostess came to take drink orders , but never brought drinks .We finally ordered and got our salads but had no silverware to eat with. She then brought forks and set them on the table in a pile for us to pass out, no knifes or spoons., we asked several times for knifes but never got them, our drinks then showed up followed by the food , I think we were into this disaster about an hour by now. The food was good and there was plenty of it , but we never got refills for our drinks. maybe they were short staffed or something but the place was only half or less full, several tables left without ordering we would have done the same but wanted to use a gift certificate. Oh just so you know there was 4 in our party not like we had a big group or anything. probably would have given them the benefit of the doubt if they would have acknowledged that they were having trouble and apologized for it read more

I always enjoy eating at Garda's. The menu selection is good, and I like the way they use a lot of fresh ingredients, vegetables, etc, when making the dishes. I'm told the prime rib night is excellent. Price is average, most dinners are between $10 and $15. The two criticisms I would have is the wait staff have usually been slow when I eat here and as another reviewer mentioned, the decor needs updated, it is dark and uninviting. read more

I'm a big fan of their favioli and their sauces are delicious, particularly the vodka sauce.The chicken marsala is wonderful. Portions are generous, staff is curteous, prices are reasonable.. We just came from Garda's and it was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. The place smelled musty and the bench seat was sticky. We got there and it took forever for our waitress to come and get our drink order. When she came back to fill our glasses, she spilled iced tea all over the table and didn't even come back to wipe it up. The place was not full but the waitresses were running around like they were busy. While waiting nearly an hour after ordering for our food, we saw one of the employees come out of the kitchen to watch tv six times. Finally fed up, I went to ask for a manager and was told that he was cooking food and ours would be out in just a minute. I told the waitress that we were't interested and just wanted our check for what we had already eaten. She got very rude and said, "Don't you even want it wrapped up?" No, and this is the last time we'll go back. We've been there before and while the amibance is much to be desired, the food and the service has always been decent. I understand that restaurants get busy, but at least let us know that you haven't forgotten about us and don't be rude. read more

we visit Gardas on a regular basis, always was completely satisfied and gave a very good reference to many. however our visit tonight was extremely disappointing from the start :( Our waitress Amy acted as if we were disrupting her as we asked if we could have a booth by the bar area as it was totally empty on that side. not a friendly attitude at all as if we were a bother to her. All other 3 booths filled up very quickly. They waited and had to ask to be waited on. When Amy brought the soup out it was very good however was spilt all over the bowl and on the dish. Took our orders and never asked what kind of vegetable I would like, brought me beans that I did not care for, I would have preferred broccoli. never asked what kind of pasta for my side and I asked for mashed potatoes and her response was we only have red skin potatoes. I got the roasted chicken and it was awful, Did not complain to her as she was already nasty, Our bread was empty and we would have liked more but by the time she came back we were done. I did leave her a tip, which normally is very generous but I could only bring myself to leave her 15% which she really did not deserve. Also there was a painting party going on which was very disturbing to all the parties at the booth that were trying to enjoy dinner. The painting party guests were very loud and then when they started all you could hear was the whole demonstration. Not very enjoyable dinner after a hard day of work and just wanting to enjoy and relax at a place we always enjoy. So upsetting, I normally overlook these petty things but was very disappointed overall. Was a horrible visit and could not stop thinking about it without letting someone know. I'm sure the owners would have been very upset to know their regular customers had to have this experience. read more
