The building was dimly lit at night from the outside on the Tuesday we visited and we weren't sure if it was open. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted and shown to a table. The server was friendly and had good suggestions for dinner. The cheeseburger soup was creamy and came out piping hot. Portions were large and satisfying. I really enjoyed the pierogi lasagne and there was enough to take home for a second meal. It was very buttery. My husband enjoyed the sausage and spaghetti. We took home a slice of carrot cake and unfortunately that was disappointing. The frosting was not cream cheese based as I would expect from a carrot cake. It also had a bland flavor without much spice. Otherwise, we did enjoy the visit and would recommend for the dinner service.

The entrance is very inviting. The parking isn't the best if you have a large vehicle or pulling a trailer. There is a large parking lot right across the street that is open. The wait staff seemed to be understaffed for the amount of people that are here. They did a great job for the amount of customers. We had Ravioli and angel hair spaghetti. The sauce was flavored well. The marina had more onion than I like but did taste good. The meat sauce was also flavored well. The spaghetti was a very large portion, the ravioli could have used a couple more. We got the triple chocolate and the carrot cake for dessert. Both tasted very good. Overall a great experience but not a perfect one. We will probably eat here again if we are back this way.

    Raw hamburger

This place has gone downhill. The last time I got a pizza here it was raw in the center and the veggies weren't even cooked. I called and complained and decided to give it a second chance. I got a burger with 2 orders of loaded cheese fries. One for me and one for my wife. I went to drop my wife's fries off at her work and they didn't even give them to me. I got home and took a few bites from my burger before I realized it was completely raw in the center.. I threw it out. The owner was very apologetic but someone needs trained before they give someone food poisoning.

Over priced for the quality of food. The service was slow and did not check to see if we needed anything else.

My wife, who's Italian, wants to take this +1 hour trip several times a year just to come here because it reminds her of the various "Mom & Pop" restaurants of her hometown in northeast PA. It sits in downtown DuBois with plenty of parking options nearby. The restaurant is good sized but it also does a lot of business so plan ahead on the weekends. The inside has a cozy/hometown feel with pictures of their family all over the walls. I don't think much has changed to the interior in those 20 years and that's okay by me. For this outing we opted for the antipasta salad, Italian wedding soup, veal parm and stuffed manicotti. Their dishes are more traditional italian (i.e. not olive garden) and they offer lunch, half, or full-sized portions. Their gravy has a good balance between sweet and savory. They also make a great fresh baked loaf of bread and they're happy to bring several to the table throughout the course. It was a special occasion so we closed out the night with their famous strawberry cheesecake. Service was excellent and the bill, with several drinks, was around $60 for 2. This is not a chain; it has character, it's not polished but it's a true gem of spot in rural PA. I'm glad places like this still exist!

Great place, highly reccomended.

Restaurant inside is like a diner; but the staff was friendly and helpful. We started with the breadsticks with cheese; served on a plate with garlic butter sauce, delicious. Served with marinara. Side salads fresh. I had the chicken parm, very good, chicken perfect, spaghetti not al dente but good, got a meatball added, good flavor. Aimée had the lasagna, said it was very very good. We'll be back!

We got to the place sat down and the table was dirty, I told the manager that it needs cleaned. He gave me an attitude but he cleaned it. And then we ordered food. The portions are smaller. The prices went up and the quality is not as good. My daughter ordered a Cheeseburger, it was burnt. We couldn't tell anybody about it because nobody ever came back to our table. We never received the bill. So I went up to the counter and told him we need the bill......After we ordered a food and After we got done eating. We had a stack of dishes about 2 feet in front of our table that nobody would take and the manager was cleaning all the other tables. I went up to pay for the food and told them to take the cheeseburger off. Because my daughter didn't like it. And he says well, that's too bad. That's how they make him here. After arguing with him for 10 minutes or so he said he'll take it off. Then I asked for a refill on my diet Pepsi, he said they don't have refills. I've never heard of a restaurant that does not have refills. And then I ask him well, just give me 2 Styrofoam cups so we could take our drinks to go. He said they don't give you drinks to go. He wouldn't give me 2 cups. I guess he's very cheap.i told him I don't see what the big deal is......I don't know what the story is at this place . I will never go back there again. We come up this way couple times a month because we have a house in the the forest..... a vacation home that is..and drive 100 miles to get here...if i want an attitude i would have stayed in Pittsburgh...but we will quit coming here. Heads up on rampant racism…read more.. Hi friends.. I haven't made a post on Facebook in awhile. This post is long, so please bare with me. This is important. I am so sad to share this... I have decided to make a post about an interaction I witnessed in Clarion, because I truly believe this needs to be heard & shared amongst the community, & simply could not stand for what happened.... On Saturday April 5th 2025 , at approximately 8:30PM, I was visiting Clarion & met a friend at Loomis Bar. I arrived & was greeted by the owner of the Loomis, Ron Pacsai. I made small talk with Ron, as I used to work for him as a bartender at Infusion Bar circa 2021- another bar that be owns in Clarion as well as Loomis Bar. After the small talk with Ron Pacsai, I made my way over to my friend. We ordered our drinks & some food. One of the bartenders at Loomis Bar informed us that it was free juke box that night & suggested that we should play some songs. Immediately, Ron Pacsai, the owner, interjected & looked directly at my friend & said in a disgusted tone "don't play any of that black people music" My friend made every attempt to dismiss his comment. But he went on to repeat himself two more times that he did not want my friend to play "black people music" After his third comment my friend finally said "excuse me?" Ron Pacsai: "you heard me, I don't want to hear that black ass music in my bar" My friend: "you know I have black children right? I really don't appreciate your comment" Ron Pacsai: "oh I know you do. & that is why I said 'I don't want to hear any of your black ass music' in my bar. & you can get the f*** out if you don't like that" My friend: (who has been a paying customer to him FOR YEARS): "Do you want me to leave then?" Ron Pacsai: "yes. Get the f*** out of my bar right now" My friend graciously exited Loomis Bar. But I decided to stay for just a few seconds longer to hear this next part. The lovely bartender, (the one who told us about the free jukebox night) BRAVELY said to her boss, Ron Pacsai,: "Ron, that seemed a little unfair to kick her out for (challenging) what you said. She did nothing wrong." Ron Pacsai: "I don't f****** care. You can leave with her" The bartender: "I need this job... Ron, my 2 month old child is black. You know that right?" Ron Pacsai: "I don't f****** care. I'll fire you right now for that." I decided to leave at that moment to catch up with my friend. I feel guilty for not interjecting. This was a blatant scenario of RACISM by Ron Pacsai. The owner of both Loomis & Infusion. Ron was fully aware that my friend has biracial children & chose to tell her that her "black ass music" was unwelcome. (Fun fact she just wanted to play some Simon & Garfunkel, & Tom Petty on the free jukebox.. not some 'black ass music' he was insinuating-- if that matters). I can say with full confidence that my friend in question is a pillar of the community, as are her children. I feel blessed to call her my friend. I am currently unaware if that brave bartender still has a job. I am not sure if Ron Pacsai fired her for only stating her feelings about his BLATANT racist comments & telling Ron she has a biracial child. I feel ASHAMED that this behavior still happens. I feel ashamed that this man was my boss. I am ashamed that this happened in the place I grew up in. I beg the Clarion community to STAND UP & SHOW that this behavior is UNACCEPTABLE. Please share this post. Please let Ron Pacsai know that his actions & behavior are UNACCEPTABLE. I am truly begging.... PLEASE SHARE!!!!!
