What really stands out, though, is the customer service. The proprietor is top-notch, and every employee seems genuinely interested in making sure guests have whatever is needed. It's funny because you don't expect that level of personal attention at a self-serve pizza buffet. "Welcome to Cicis!" shouted at a deafening volume. If you ever visited a Cicis years ago, you probably remember that greeting. I know I'll never forget it. Cicis was founded in 1985 in Plano, Texas, by entrepreneurs Joe Croce and Mike Cole. The chain originated the concept of the unlimited pizza buffet, allowing customers to enjoy customizable pizzas, pasta, salad, and desserts for one low price. By 2005, the company had grown to more than 500 locations. Like many buffet restaurants, Cicis was hit especially hard by the COVID 19 pandemic and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January 2021. The company emerged from bankruptcy just a few months later, in March 2021, under new ownership by D&G Investors. Today, Cicis operates approximately 270 locations across 23 states. The Cicis closest to me closed during the pandemic, and I hadn't been back since. Back then, the buffet cost less than $5. My daughter practically grew up there. I'd take her and her friends for an inexpensive meal, and later, when she was in college, she and her friends would camp out at a table, eating pizza while working on class assignments. I also attended more than my share of kids' birthday parties there. I have fond memories of the unconventional pizza flavors like Buffalo Chicken and Mac & Cheese, the cheesy bread, and those hot cinnamon rolls. Fast forward to this weekend, when I was invited to another child's birthday party at Cicis. I was curious to see how much had changed. The biggest change is the price. The adult buffet is now $9.99, or about $12 with a drink. Beyond that, much of the menu was just as I remembered. The buffet still features unlimited thin crust pizza, a salad bar, pasta with marinara or a somewhat watery Alfredo sauce, and chicken noodle soup. Dessert remains the familiar lineup of cinnamon rolls, brownies, and dessert pizza. The pizza is average and my favorites are still the cheesy bread and the cinnamon rolls. Not everything has stayed the same. Thankfully, no one greets you by shouting "Welcome to Cicis!" anymore, and the Parmesan cheese now comes in individual packets instead of a shaker. The drink machine had run out of ice, and the employee gave attitude to the customer who politely pointed it out. After seeing that interaction, I didn't bother mentioning that the raspberry iced tea also needed to be refilled. On the positive side, the restaurant was clean, and the game room appears to have received a nice upgrade. Cicis remains what it has always been, an affordable place to fill up on pizza and salad. If you're looking for a budget friendly meal, hosting an inexpensive child's birthday party, or are simply nostalgic for the unlimited pizza buffet, it is good to know that there is still a Cicis around. read more

There was a flow to keeping the pizzas made and fresh that didn't stop our whole visit. Every request, every question was answered with care. Being generous with 3 stars as I really didn't enjoy my visit this time. Only 2 employees in the store, which I believe was the reason for my poor experience. Can't imagine only 2 people can work the register, make pizza, and keep the dining room clean. Hope this is not the norm, as Cici's will lose me as a customer. Limited selection of pizzas, slowly replaced, which were rapidly depleted by the many patrons in the restaurant. Something else I noticed, which could be do to chronic understaffing, was the dirty doors. I photographed the men's room door, but also the entry door was black with dirt from where people push to open the door. You can't go wrong with an all you can eat pizza buffet. For $8.99 plus the cost of a drink, you can indulge in any made pizza, pasta, soup, cheese bread, dessert, and salad bar. There is also a self serve fountain machine and sweetened/unsweetened tea where you can get refills, as long as you're dining in. The place was packed and noisy with a whole bunch of kids socializing and running around a bit like it was Chuck E. Cheese. After paying for the buffet, I managed to find an empty table, got myself a drink, and waited patiently behind these large group of kids to get any slice of pizza. As soon as a fresh pizza was put out, the slices were gone in 60 seconds...no lie, but the employees did a good job in keeping those pizzas coming out hot & ready. The pizzas were not labeled so I had to go by what I wanted visually. Each slice was tasty with a nice soft crust, fresh toppings, and savory sauce. I also got some pasta, which was al dente, and tossed it with a bit of marinara sauce. For the kids' entertainment, there is a small game room which requires tokens you have to purchase from a machine. If you don't feel like dining in, CiCis offers a variety of pizzas, wings, cheese bread, and dessert to go. Well after six slices of pizza, two pieces of cheese bread, a small amount of pasta, and three refills of soda I was pretty stuffed. When I saw an employee bring out a hot fresh pepperoni pizza, I really wanted a slice but I couldn't eat another thing. It's okay though, I'll be back to stuff my face again soon. read more

Had so much fun here. No culinary masterpieces, just snacky pizzas and creative doughy sweets. Feels like a Chuck E. Cheese for adults. The staff here were incredibly kind, and generous, fired up a mac and cheese pizza for me immediately, (that one really is delicious). There's a bit of the damp Chuck E. Spring break 2025 brought the kids to the only remaining Cicis in Broward County . We were greeted at the door by the owner Greg. What a fabulous owner Greg is so nice and informative. They featured about 15 types of pizza including cheesy bread and dessert pizzas. A salad bar was also included. The deal for the kids was 5.65 and included a drink , great deal these days . Nice big location with ample seating with discounts for seniors. A small game room amused the kids who had a blast. Got to give Greg and his Cicis 5 stars . read more

You can't even buy a bag of salad, peppers and beets for $4.99 !!! The food is not bad here. When you pay, you are entitled to one custom pizza which they will make and place in the buffet. Cici pizza - consistent options if you are hungry for unlimited pizza. Kid friendly. If you don't see what you want on the buffet - ask the team and they will make it for you. Nothing beats hot pizza slices. Manager asked us if we were looking for a specific pizza and they made it right away. We miss the early days of cici in Texas in the 90's. Our kids would get invited back into the kitchen to design their own pizza. I also miss several of the original dessert pizzas. The Pizza Buffet includes; barbecue pizza, pepperoni pizza, cheese bread, thin crust pizza, broccoli pizza and many different types of pizza. Then there is soup that you mix with ziti noodles that is quite good. Full Salad Bar. Free Refills in your Soda or Iced Tea. Dessert pizza, brownies. With how much gas is costing us to have a place to go to spend under $10.00 for a meal is a bargain. The assistant manager Matthew Flores helps and works the front end and does a great job that makes the pizza flow like a well oiled machine. We entered with a group of teenagers on break from their field trip. The msnager and staff were welcoming and friendly. The restaurant was clean and the buffet area was well stocked and kept presentable. The food is decent for a pizza buffet. They also offer pasta, salad, and tasty dessert options. They had a decent variety of options on the pizza line, but you can also order a small custom pizza if you desire another option. The teenagers were very happy and full. I visited this location for a second time on Monday, October 15th at about 11:15AM. I had another successful visit. Cici's is basic, and the price should tell you that. However, the food was great. One of my favorites is the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. It was absolutely delicious! I had several other great pizzas on the buffet, including some dessert pizza. I'm not sure why such mixed reviews. Went in today for lunch. The restaurant was super clean, bathrooms were clean and the entire buffet was packed with fresh food as if they'd just open. Sam has exceptional customer service and so does the cook Madeline (which made picture perfect pizzas). It's been a while since I've been to cicis and these ladies made it a great experience. For just a shift lead, Sam does everything perfectly. Great with customers that kept walking in the door, warm greetings and smiles all around. I absolutely will be back!
