Flight of Four
Ploy N.

Had a fun time trying a flight of four of their tasty ciders. The Vanilla Bean and Salted Caramel Berry were winners for me. Their Crunchwrap Extreme and Artichoke Spinach Dip were also delicous and freshly made. A very chill spot to grab drinks and hangout, especially outside when the weather is nice. The person behind the bar was also uber friendly!

As an out of town visitor, I was thrilled with the options I can't get back home. The service was very kind and helpful. We got a flight which was a great value. Highly recommend. The inside is very cute but a little small so seating might be hard at peak hours. Great table games to choose from!

What a fantastic idea, a Cider bar!!! I was like a kid in a candy store, walked in and ordered a flight of ciders to try (dry of course), the bartender was great, super attentive and very informative. Wish we had one of these in St. Louis!!!

The atmosphere was great, really laid and chill. The service was great, I asked the bartender for a recommendation and it was the right one for me. You can get a 4/6 cider flight and they also have food to order. We had a pretzel with their house mustard and that was really good as well. The music was just right for conversation. Will go back.

Tons of ciders on draft. Sweet, dry, spicy, fruity, you name it. Bartender gave some good, honest recommendations. Small, low key spot with 1 tv. 4 and 6 flight options. They have a few card and board games too.

Recommend the flight to get a nice sampling. Food is good. Can't go wrong w tater tots and spinach dip. Staff is super friendly. Nice seating indoors and outdoors too

This here was probably my favorite overall place to be while I was visiting Portland. I have to say that damn I have LOTS OF LOVE for ciders. When you walk in its quiet and the people are chill. They have food/appetizers if you want w/your food but we just kept the flights coming. They had music playing (80's at the time) in the background and the TV was on but muted. They had TONS of board games for people to play while they enjoyed their cider. This is a GREAT PLACE for a game night! I will always stop by this place whenever I am in the area again. Loved it.

Located in the Pearl district of Portland. Went during a summer day. Found the area to be good. No issues, or homeless people asking for money. Found a nice parking spot nearby. I saw several people looking for places to visit. Yes, Covid is over Hopefully. The place was slow but steady. This is a cider heaven. All types of good cider. Good relaxing place. You can get cider to go too. Also, they sale cool gear. It is not a boring place to visit. But again, the area is a safe place to visit. We also went to 10 Barrel brewery down the street. It was a awesome afternoon We will be back to the district.

We happened upon this cidery and were pleased. It's in the pearl district, so parking can be challenging. This location is very quaint. They have games to play and a good selection of ciders. They have some decent pub snacks to order, but definitely not a place for dinner. Luckily there's plenty of great eating spots within walking distance. Will come again!

Cozy and chill atmosphere. They had a few board games to choose from while we had our cider flight. Loved that they had such a variety of ciders to choose from. Food menu is quite limited, with just a few snacks. We had the tater tots and they were fresh and crisp. Overall, it's a nice place to grab some ciders and hangout with friends.

Nice, casual, comfortable cider bar. Friendly and competent staff are very accommodating- we made our visit a curated tapas session! They made everything in shareable portions for our group. So many ciders to choose from flights are generous and highly recommended. Reasonable pricing.

Three times Bitten then smitten? Mayyyybeeeee. it could have been just one. Writing this after my 3rd visit here... surprised that it's taken so long to post a review!! They are so very nice here, as well as astute. Sometimes I'm not sure of exactly what I want. On this visit I had an idea of what flavors I wanted on my tongue and had to put the burden on their team. Can I get some yummy? I wasn't disappointed. All the flavors! Dry! Sour! Hoppy! Requests lofty! They have all the cider here. I walk up and am overwhelmed by the options. If only I could drink it all... Great bunch of people working and great selection.... Go on in... you know you want it!

32 different draft ciders available! $19 for a flight of 6. Some basic board games are also available to enjoy. Apple Cobbler - Tasted exactly like an apple cobbler with notes of brown sugar, cinnamon, and cloves. Peach - Tasted exactly like a perfectly ripe peach; sweet and peachy. Guava Grapefruit - Not bad. Was hoping it'd be more tropical tasting. Asian Pear - This was my least favorite as it didn't taste like an Asian pear and was quite artificial. Jungle Juice - If you just want something "fruity and juicy", this will fit the bill.

Like plethora of others in the reviews have mentioned, you are met with security that's far from friendly. My wife and I were greeted by security who held up his hand like he was holding an invisible business card. "ID" is all he said. Sure, no worries, we are in our forties. Hand it over. He then proceeds to ask us about marijuana products on our person..... WAIT, WHAT? This is the Pacific Northwest, my guy. I've seen legit bongs on curbside picnic tables at other bars (Thunderbird on Foster). But this guy wants to peruse your bags trying to find weed. I lied to this securi-nerd, and waltz'd past him. I'm a grown adult, my legal toking is none of your business. Took awhile to get two basic beers. We were met with smiles by staff, but they didn't ask us if we wanted a drink or menu. Finally someone came over and took our drink order. This was a one and done place for us. It has this fake feeling of a PACNW dive bar. It didn't feel legit. It felt put on. Noticed a large table of locals wearing "OREGUNIAN" sweatshirts, and the vibe at this place is just way off. I felt like I was on the East coast--not the West coast. Again, who asks patrons if thy have weed on them with zero explanation? Every single music venue I've been to in Portland could not give less of a crap about your weed vape, so why does this pretend dive bar? What a weird, un-Portland like vibe. The ick is real.

On entering for lunch, the customer journey is unknown. We should not be an explorer without a map! In front of the stairs is a stand one would logically consult on seating. You would usually have a sign, which today should span languages, on seating. "Seat yourself" or see front-ofhouse person. But no, the stand in front of the stairs is not the front-ofhouse person. They are dedicated to providing utensils and napkins. How does a new arrival even know where the front-of-house person is? Restaurant 101. The front-of-house is behind the bar and not very attentive to new arrivers. New arrivers are your customers! That person is also the final bill person. By observation they seemed idle much of the time. Next, the upholstery of my seat was stained. Either clean it to invisibility or replace it. Any restaurant should check the condition of tables and chairs daily. At this level of restaurant, it is basic. We are not a dive. I was there for their loss leader crab sandwich special but ordered more, so I was not a loss leader customer. Bring a real napkin because a dish with small pieces will have small pieces fall out. The server from the kitchen brought small paper cocktail napkins. Instead I had to get a napkin and fork from the utensils and napkins cart myself. I guess, oddly, becoming familiar with where napkins were, thinking they were front-of-house, was useful in disguise! No refilling water. The dishes seem to be served by kitchen staffers. There was no checking on customer experience mid-meal or on billing. "Is/was everything OK?" Wow! I would have told them what I am writing. The menu was pretty standard today in items and price. I would say my sandwich was unnecessarily salted. I'm in favor of flavored by ingredients. I would say this is a fine hotel bar among many choices downtown. It is on the second floor, aside from the stains, pleasant, and there are public spaces in this hotel for meetups and meetings. But it needs a review of customer experience design, who does what, and the customer journey, stat. If Marriott is doing this nationally, they are failing. Good design is not expensive, it can operate at any price point. Maybe robots will improve things? None of the staffers should be blamed, it is design and management which are lacking.

Teardrop Cocktail Lounge - Charcuterie and cheese board

Teardrop Cocktail Lounge

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

We came to Teardrop Cocktail Lounge while visiting Portland and were genuinely impressed…read more The cocktails were excellent -- thoughtful, well-balanced, and clearly made by people who know what they're doing. One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.
