They have a wonderful assortment of wines and not all local. For me, that's a good thing. Yes I love a Willamette Valley Pinot or a Washington Cabernet, but I get a lot of those when I'm visiting these areas, which I do frequently. At Muse you can enjoy a red from France, Spain, Italy, as well as local. Lots of whites and some bubbles, too. You can do a tasting of three half glass pours of your choice, or order a glass. Some nights they have tastings that they have preselected. Last night, based on Alex's recommendation, after telling him my preferences, I had the 2021 Crozes-Hermitage from Paris. It was a bigger red, but so smooth. Next I went with the Rioja Gran Reserva which was more fruit forward. Another winner. Their cheese and jam plates are fabulous, the cheese especially delicious, and pair perfectly with the wines. Have a feeling I'll be back frequently to this charming neighborhood wine since my friend works out next door, so it's a perfect meeting spot.

It's been a hot minute since I have had a cider from them but the cider I just finished enjoying was none other than Elvira's Currant Obsession. This was a currant cider and a type I don't believe I have had before. I have had currants before but it was when I was quite young and we had a currant bush in my grandmother's yard on the family ranch. We would grab some for a snack which was always good. I remember them being a tad tart. This cider in contrast us fairly sweet and while it was good I tend to go for more dry ciders. But Elvira was on the label and how can you not love Elvira? She's in season anytime of the year. But anyway the flavor highlights for a kind of less common berry is the red currant( or on the bottle it says Black Currant) , apple and sweetness. Tartness is there as well as dryness but it definitely is more subdued. And it makes sense since this is a berry cider. Indian and Thai carts usually get my Vote, but there is a hornet sushi cart and and I believe the Oaxaca Cart is usually open, along with others. They are women-owned, family-owned, and LGBTQ-owned. They have fun names for their wine like Drop Dead Red, Bad Girl Blanc, Wine Bunny Blush, as well as a Pride line (plus more typical malbecs, cab, pinots, etc). They recently accommodated an unusual request from me. I was able to pick up a couple bottles on a day they're normally closed. They were responsive via text and made it easy for me, making my bad planning into a non-issue. Super grateful for that!

There were six wines in the initial tasting with a bonus moscat. As I went through the six, I was impressed as each seemed to taste better than the last. I'm not a fan of sweet wines and was hesitant with the moscat. But it was "mild" enough that I told my wife that I could drink a glass of it. One thing to understand is that this is an urban winery. It is located in an industrial area--very much a unique setting for a winery. They make all their wines on site and source their grape a within a 4 hour drive. It is a cool spot with great wines. Very worth a stop.
