My initial impression of this practice was very high. I really like Dr Di Umoh's caring manner. I…read morehad gum surgery twice. The first was osseous surgery, which went well. My only issue was the heavy meds they prescribe as a matter of course. Another friend mentioned that too. I did not need the oxy pills and I never intended to take them, which I did not. The second time, I had gum grafting done. Again, during the surgery, Dr Di was very caring and professional. My follow up appointment was about six weeks later, and I still was having lots of discomfort and had another adjacent tooth that was numb. That was a very difficult appointment, not because of the doctor, but because of rough handling by the two assistants. I also have never regained normal feeling in the roof of my mouth (the donor tissue site), and it has now been over two years. I was told after the surgery it might take up to a year a year for the nerves to heal. I wish there had been more review of possible complications and negative potential outcomes before surgery. I don't recall seeing an informed consent form or discussing that with anyone on the team.

It is such a pleasure to write an awesome review, and this may be one of the best reviews I have…read moreever written. I had a tooth where the crown came off probably ten+ years ago and after many attempts to glue it back in place, finally it came out and was out for probably seven or so years, during which it became infected periodically, but I did not have it extracted, as I was advised many times over the years. Fast forward, my wife and I moved to the Annapolis area a few years ago and we had to find all new doctors. Dr. Miele was recommended to my wife to do a complex procedure that should have been quite painful, but my wife told me that Dr. Miele performed magic, as her procedure was painless and perfect. Dr. Miele sets the bar to the top as an incredibly warm, compassionate and extremely professional doctor. I think the warm and compassionate traits are somewhat rare in the medical field, my wife and I are truly lucky to have found Dr. Miele. Now, to my procedure, magic! Yep, that's about all I can say. It was the second to the back, top tooth, close to my sinus and tricky to extract without any complications. Dr. Miele, again, demonstrated warmth and compassion, while being a top doctor in her field. These are a lot of words to say that my wife and I recommend Dr. Miele, if we could give 15 out of 10 starts we would. Now, all this being said, the office staff mimics Dr. Miele, they are easily one of the best teams we have ever met. We would also give the entire office 15 out of 10 stars.

I do not recommend! I trusted this office with my child, and she now has to have her tooth…read moreextracted because of poor practice. Aside from that this office does not return calls, does not fill prescriptions when they say they are, and cancels appointments on a whim. They also gave me an attitude when I asked for my child to be covered when they were doing multiple X-rays during her procedure. When she had trouble and jaw pain because they didn't file the filling to her bite, our calls were not returned. When the nerve died in the tooth due to his poor practice ( according to a specialist), they canceled our appointment and said to go somewhere else via text message. Based on other reviews I don't know how this place is still open. If it was an option I would give them a zero out of 10.

I had Dr. Saoud install three implants. The process took a year and a half due to intense pain…read moreafter having two teeth pulled to make room for the implants, waiting for bone growth, numerous delays waiting for materials, lack of communication from the dental office, and some procedures having to be repeated. The implants were finally completed last June. A few days later, I began suffering from face pain which I attributed to sinus pain. Three visits to an ENT and a sinus CAT scan could not find a reason for the pain. Then I saw allergist and had allergy testing. No problem was found. I then thought that maybe there was a problem with the implant and saw Dr. Saoud who took an X-ray and assured me there was no problem with the implants. About a week later, the bridge that attached to the implant unexpectedly fell out. Immediately the pain I'd been experiencing for six months disappeared. I then realized that the pain was most likely due to something with the implants. I found another dentist who checked the implants and found the implants were loose and at an angle rather than being straight. He tightened them and reinstalled the bridge. No more pain. Six months of suffering because of the implants were not sufficiently tightened. If I had to do it again, I would go to a dentist who specializes in implants. I have decided to stay with the dentist who quickly found and corrected the problem.

My first visit was ok, the office staff is very nice but Dr Smith never looked at my mouth at all, He looked at the screen that his tech had uploaded pictures he had taken. He joked and laughed with 3 other people on his staff about the "bio-load" in my mouth. I am a registered nurse and knew exactly what he was saying. I should have walked out of the office at that point and I am sorry I did not. I was told my bill will either be $200 or $400 for the initial visit, depending on how they chose to bill. (???) I had to pay out of pocket on that day and then they billed me THAT same day for a biopsy that was done over a month later! They billed for a future service. Who does that? The biopsy was finally done and I was scheduled for a follow up the month after that. I called for the report a week prior to the appointment (3 weeks after the biopsy), they didn't have it. I called the day before my follow up, still didn't have it. I asked how we would have a follow up with no results? His dental assistant looked for the results and called me in the evening after the office had closed sounding like he was perturbed at my asking for the results of MY BIOPSY, he gave me the results and cancelled my follow up saying we didn't need to do any more. But I am still having an issue. The results were "precancerous" and I now have a wound were he biopsied that is not healing well. As of today, none of the bill has been covered by insurance. I have a new wound in my gum and my initial issue I went in for was never addressed. My mouth is sore and so far I am personally out over $800 dollars, which I paid up front, for nothing to have been resolved. I actually suspect fraud possibly taking place with their odd billing practice, and as for the doctor, very unprofessional and he likely caused more issues and he helped in no way. I spoke with someone in the office about my bill which CareFirst has denied, I asked why I was told they are in-network. I was told that sometimes the people at the desk will say they are in network (???). That is kind of a big mistake to make. I went in with high hopes that Dr. Smith would help with my issue, he did not, but I did get a big bill and a "free" tooth brush! Unless he decides to change and behave like a real doctor, don't waste your time or money.
