So the shop is small but it has a pretty decent selection. It's a little cramped when you walk in but it's cramped because they have so many cigars everywhere... I'm a regular cigar smoker, thought I'd stop by since I was close. Where do I begin.. cigar boxes everywhere on the floor, the shelves are half empty and the place is very dirty. The signs in the business are not legible and poor lighting. Don't waste your time and go to a clean and reputable place with friendlier staff. Once again this place has everything I need and more. The cigar selections are extensive and they always have plenty in stock. I'm not going to say I'm a cigar connoisseur yet, but I'm slightly ahead of some of my friends.......well not all of them. Nevertheless I've put together two starter kits for two of my friends. That's why I stopped in today to purchase a torch, ashtray, and cutter. As usual I was able to get everything I needed without breaking the bank. I also picked up a few sticks for my wife and I on a later date. I stop by the shop for the first time and they had a pretty good selection yard however the store was very small and they had one couch back of the shop facing a wall, and that was there "lounge" to relax and smoke a cigar. So if you need some cigars, they probably carry your brand, but they're more expensive then Casa de Monte Christo, and similar shops in the area. read more

I am not a smoker, never have been, of anything. Just lucky I suppose to never picked up the habit, but I don't judge. My boss however is a cigar lover, and I needed a birthday gift for him. I popped in, and was able to put together he loved. Nothing NOTHING about cigars, the lovely gentlemen helped me out choosing a couple of quality cigars, as well as a holder, a really nice lighter and a clip. M and I stopped by today to check out cigar shops in the area. We don't get up to Houston too often, so we looked forward to visiting. The parking lot is small, but we found a spot. Here is a classic case of not judging a book by it's cover. When we pulled up to the shop, it looked so tiny that the name "Emporium" seemed like an oxymoron. But inside, they did a great job of fitting a HUGE variety of cigars in very little space. The walk in humidor and wall units hold everything classic to new. They even had the rare Tatuaje Halloween edition cigars. Their cigar prices are the best we have seen in the Houston area!! The man and woman running the joint were friendly and helpful. They have lots of accessories: lighters, cutters, humidors, etc. They also offer a small smoking lounge in the back of the store for customers. This place has plenty of cigars to choose from - we couldn't even walk out without buying a few! read more

For the limited amount of time I've been going here (once every two-three weeks) I have always found the place pleasant and Hong to be VERY helpful in guiding me towards cigar knowledge. Their backroom is usually quiet and empty so one can enjoy privacy and a good long smoke. Definitely a good stop with out the bougeois feel. read more

Bought a lighter and had it for a week and it broke. Went to exchange it and they wouldn't saying that it not warrantied. They should say buy at your own risk. I can't believe exchanging a lighter for 10.00 would jeopardize me buying cigars from this store ever again. Buyer beware!!!! read more

This is a small but well stocked inside the loop cigar store. The lady that works there is very attentive and helpful. The cigar selection is excellent considering the store size. They provide good varieties of cigar accessories, even better than others stores around the city. They have cigars there that you do not find at others stores (E.g. This place was small, but great! My husband and i went over there and were pleasantly surprised at the service and the prices! I had previously purchased a box of 20 cigars for my husband and paid around 112.00 for them and was TOLD that i had received a super deal, because I had bought from a "wholesaler". -- but i did not receive any kind of special treatment and or price. BUT the Cigar Emporium was GREAT! We were able to purchase a little higher end cigar and at a count of 25 (vs 20) for 110.00 per box! and they also keep their cigars closely regulated at 65% humidity! We also purchased a very nice Humidor for my husband-only 109.00 bucks! and the guy who runs the store walked my husband right through the entire process! We are definitely going back to this place! and to top it all off if you go to their web site and sigh up, they will invite you to their vendor events each month! You can also go during happy hour events and smoke your tasty cigars in their back room and bring your own liquor! Yea for this place! read more

However, every time I come and I am browsing their selection, I get followed around closely like they are worried I might steal something. That is a very uncomfortable feeling. I read lots of good reviews about this place, which is what brought me to this store, but after my experience I will not do business there again. I typically buy a box of very nice cigars about once every 2 weeks. My average box is about $200 or so. After realizing the company I typically do business with was out of stock of my favorites I decided to hit the internet to see who had good reviews/prices. I went to C.E. to pick up a box and everything went very well. However, when I returned home to open the box of cigars I was very unpleased. Four of the 10 cigars were either torn or had holes in them--a sign that either these cigars are way too dry or their humidor is puting off too much humidity. I contacted the store and he told me to bring them in and he would make it right but they were closing the next day. Unfortunately, I told him I picked this box up for a golf round and I needed two cigars right away so I was going to smoke two of the best looking/feeling in the box--it was 8PM, they were closing and closed the following day (day of my golf round). They were terrible. We cut them off half-way and stopped smoking them. I took the whole box in, including the two that were cut, and showed him the issues. Instead of giving me an entire new box, which was what my assumption of "making things right" was, he picked and choosed which ones he would take out of the box and which ones he would leave in after I insisted the best two looking cigars were terrible. Long story short, I paid for 10 cigars, smoked 2 halves, and got 4 replaced. I'm stuck with 4 terrible cigars and two cigars that were already ruined when we smoked them. This is definitely not my idea of "making things right". Unfortunately for this business I will not do business here or refer business--I golf a lot and many business/golf buddies ask for recommendations. Instead, I will return to the original store that I continue to do business with and stock up instead of buying them when needed. C.E. had an opportunity to make roughly $400/month (say $5K/year) on my business but decided to short-change my refund. There are better stores out there who are more willing to fix a problem when they know good and well they sold you a faulty product. read more

Don't get me wrong I would love to do business with this place and buy a few cigars every once and a while but I don't know if its my race or not by the way I'm Hispanic, but I'm always followed like if I'm going to steal something I'm just there togive you my money I have more dignity than to steal I don't need to do that period but its just me others are treated great they always just look at us like we are doing something wrong and that's not the case.
