As cool as it gets. This local laid back very much Cigar Sanctuary, is open seven days a week as early as 11am in the city of Studio City, bordering Toluca Lake and North Hollywood. There's ample street parking in the area, vast majority of it, especially near 4419 Lankershim Blvd being metered. I've been around cigars for a bit and took up a social habit this year and have been learning a lot. I definitely lean more medium bodied, also how I like my wine as well as whiskey/scotch/bourbon, but have come across a lot of light, not to mention full bodied flavors. A nice Rocky Patel and a Balvenie 12 year neat, sounds like a good day. I've been in small handful of times now and the service is always friendly, personable and thoughtful. They're happy to guide you, answer any questions you have as well as let you explore. They have some of if not the best whole sale prices I've come across in the valley, maybe even all of Los Angeles. Great premium cigars, accessories and more. A lot of cigar folks gather in front with their patio chair and table overlooking Lankershim. They have a huge selection as well as a backroom lounge. Open until 9pm, Monday through Thursday. Fridays and Saturday they stay opened until 10pm. Sundays there hour are from Noon to 8pm There's Wi-Fi, a flat screen in the lounge, plus a fair amount of tables and chairs. Plague on this neighborhood. Nobody likes the guys that sit outside all afternoon, checking out girls walking and polluting the sidewalk with their smoke. Everytime I go past, I get stared at by these men for simply walking and I'm so tired of it. One day, I will cuss them out. Please, me and a lot of other neighbors in Toluca lake are begging for you to end this smoking patio that takes up the sidewalk. Nobody likes it. I live out of town, but used to live nearby this cigar shop for 5-years. Problem is, I never knew it was here (probably because I wasn't a cigar smoker at the time, lol). Anyway, I am in town for a conference and a friend of mine and myself look up a cigar place and BOOM! found Cigar sanctuary. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the whole store on the inside is a humidor. That's right--the whole store!!!! Everything is well laid out. More options than any small cigar store I'd ever been in. The store owner is the cashier and very helpful. I got a Romeo y Juliet no. 2. It was delightful. We were able to sit in the back area to smoke it. The seats were comfortable and the people who came in were friendly. Wish I had a scotch to go with it. POINT: this is a great cigar shop. Alrighty, where do I begin. I'm new to the cigar game and have been looking for a shop that is helpful and attentive to the customers needs. All of my other experiences have been me walking into a shop and there I see 3 or 4 guys sitting around smoking and not even acknowledging my presence. The Cigar Sanctuary is not like this at all. Sam was super helpful and helped get the items I needed. He made great suggestions and really listened to what I was saying. He gave me a tour of the shop and lounge and made me feel very welcome. Well HELLO! What a great find! Prices are the best I seen in California and almost as good as in Buffalo, NY. Sometimes, I think Buffalo shops have a Canadian Radar and all the prices change as I walk in. I overpay and then they laugh their ArSeSes off and change the prices back as I leave. Dunno - Just say'n. First time here, it felt weird. A few guys sitting outside enjoying an after work conversation and a relaxing evening. Why are the outside? I know it's Cali and weather is great but they usually have a lounge with some comfortable seat. Oh well, let's step inside. Inside, it was weird. Couldn't put my finger on it but a minute later, a light went on....OH!!!! The whole store is a humidor! Cigars in boxes lined the whole place. Plenty of stock for the proverbial kid in a candy store. I think they have a lounge in the back but I didn't venture as I was having way too much fun running around the shop. They have all the premium products and the store is so cool to step into. First trip - picked up a bunch of stuff for the weekend. Second time back, picked up a couple boxes to take back to home. Best prices I've seen for the Oliva-V-Melanio and Arturo Fuente cigars. With outdoor seating in the front, and a lounge in the back - there are ample places to enjoy your cigar here. I, however was in to buy gifts for the holidays. My friends and I were in the neighborhood and wanted to find a decent cigar shop to hang out in for a minute and ended up walking into and finding one of the best ones ever. The front entrance puts you right into a giant humidor. They have an extensive inventory of all types of cigar brands. I couldn't help but notice the large number of Arturo Fuente cigars in stock. They have the Hemingway 'short story' in both Maduro and Connecticut wrapper. These cigars are very hard to find and out of stock even online. They have singles available for purchase as well as unopened boxes. Given the large selection, we had many questions and the person there was very friendly, attentive and helped answer all of our questions. Complimentary coffee and water is available in the back smoking room filled with comfortable leather chairs and a TV. We'll definitely be back next time we find ourselves in the area. read more

This is one of my favorite cigar shops. It has everything you want. Hundreds of cigars, full room temperature control humidor, smoking lounge with comfortable chairs, television and laid back atmosphere. Sam and Luis are great guys that can provide recommendations for you from mild to medium to full body cigars, whatever your preference. There is limited parking in the back lot but usually street parking available in front. The only drawback for me is operating hours, should stay open on the weekends later to watch the evening sport games. If you're not interested In sports, you also can hangout in front for a relaxing smoke. This is a great place if you are looking for cigars. read more

I first spoke with Sam over the phone and he took the time to answer questions and help me get started with pricing before I ever came in. What really won me over though was when I finally came in (which was days after I made the initial call)... he welcomed me by name and was a warm presence shortly after figuring out that that I was the person he had the phone call with a few days earlier. As a woman, this is huge. So many times we go somewhere to get business done and the men can be slimey or flirtatious. There was none of this here. Great spot I'm glad my buddy Julian took me here. I picked up on some great smokes. I have been wanting to try some of the My Father cigars but couldn't find them. Cigar Sanctuary has a huge selection and I was shown some great stuff. I especially liked the Garcia & Garcia, and I loved that Connecticut by My Father. I also grabbed a Padron and a Herrara Esteli which I'm taking to Vegas! Great selection and the owner even offered to set up my travel case with distilled water. Nice place and very helpful. If finally happened! A cigar lounge in Toluca Lake! Saw the signs for a while but it's finally opened! Walked in and was greeted by Rene who proceeded to introduce us to the inventory. The entire store is a humidor which I like because all of the product is consistent and humidified properly. It also means that they can carry more product than the average cigar store that separates the humidors. The place is still growing so you'll see more improvements as time goes by. For example, they are going to install lockers and other amenities in the back. I was really impressed at how nice and tidy the stock was merchandised. Very good selection of Oliva brand which is my personal favorite! Rene was very accommodating and showed us to the back where the lounge is located. They have a big screen with satellite and the lounge rules state that majority wins the channel selection on the TV and I think that it's pretty fair. They look like they are going to make it a really nice little hangout for the local guys. Until now, the only game in the area was Vendome Liquor which has the V-Cut inside of the store. Their humidor is a hit or miss depending on if it's working at the time or not. They do have plenty of selection for cigar accessories but their cigar selection is pretty limited compared to the Cigar Sanctuary. The only bummer is that I've lived in Toluca Lake for the past 11 years and they opened up a few months after I moved out of the area! Boo hoo! Let's see how things develop at the Sanctuary over the next few weeks? I'm sure that we'll be impressed if they follow along the same path they have so far. Give them a try! read more

The humidor is massive and carries just about something from every cigar brand. The owner and staff are pleasant and helpful, which is surprisingly rare in the cigar world. Usually the owners are a$$holes and the staff just try to up sell or are condescending. The clientele is tolerable most to time, but it's LA everyone has an opinion about everything all the time.
