Cool local cigar shop & lounge in Sherman Oaks. The Cigar House (#3) is a small inviting and intimate space with amazing customer service, selections and a beautiful layout. They have some great couches and areas to sit and enjoy a cigar, huge flat screens playing the latest events and that aromatic scent of flavors. The humidor room is fairly nice and even more intimate! They keep it at a higher temperature compared to other local shops, but this preserves the cigars in the best way possible. Being in the plaza lot off Ventura Blvd/ Van Nuys Blvd with places like El Torito, Dojo Sushi, New York Bagel, VE Station and Gyu-Kaku to name a few, the lot can be pretty oversaturated at times, especially on the weekends. C.H. sells cigar boxes and accessories at reasonable prices, but are slightly more than other shops, again the quality and upkeep speaks of this small business. The guy who runs the store is pretty friendly, often in a dapper suit or stylish dress fit. I've been in a few times now and never had one bad experience. Reading the negative reviews after having a horrible experience in the 30 seconds I was in that joint. I agree with all of them. I entered the business and 2 men just stared at me like I had 3 heads and was some how bugging them at the same time. By the time I got mid way into the business I'm Assuming the owner uttered a low hello. Then continues to stare at me some more. So I just turned around and left. I'm not going to spend money in a spot that doesn't have the slightest sense of customer service. It's shame becomes I love cigars and it's so close to my house. But oh well the hunt continues for a place I can call my hang out. read more

The staff knows their cigars very well! Always friendly and inviting and prices aren't too bad. Be prepared to spend about $25 to sit and smoke. They have a great assortment of accessories and can get you whatever you want in terms of those. read more

They sold me stale fake Cuban cigar for $35 - I told them it was probably fake and the cashier swore up and down and made ridiculous claims. She looked stressed and I don't try to make cigars a habit so I thought I'd try it . . . well I just tried it and it was stale and honestly I don't blame the cashier but whichever jerk runs this place and demands their employees resort to telling a first time customer they have Cuban's Again it's obviously the owners selfish, cheap and lazy thinking that pulls this kind of "business" If you go here don't buy into the "salesmanship" unless like me you have some pity for the employee. I went in today. No one was there but the employee. He sold me a dried up non burning Romeo Y Julieta for $15. Why screw someone over like that? Why not sell them a nice cigar? Is the $15 worth a customer that will never return to your store? I'm sitting outside cutting and relighting. I couldve gotten this deal at the local 7-Eleven. Been coming for years and after today's criminal experience I had at here, I will now never come back. As it proved that this business is shady AF. They tried to basically steal from me by overcharging me not once, but twice on the same cigar! Here's the full story. I grab two of the same cigars each listed as $12. When the young asian lady rings it up, the total says $55. I say that can't be right. She says it is but that I can go check. So I do and, sure enough they are indeed listed as $12 each. For now, I pass it off as she just made a simple mistake. It happens. And I proceeded to tell her from the humidor that the cigars are $12 each per the sign. She says okay. but when I come back to the register, she sneakily has it on the total page of the screen (where I can't see the itemization) and tells me it is $35 for both. How could that be, I say...they are $12 each. There I no way that tax is another $10! She assures me it's the tax. I say no way, let me see the itemization. Sure enough she had it as $16 each. Now there is no question... this wasn't a simple mistake. She definitely tried to rob me. Not once but twice! I let her know that this was disgraceful. And I ask her why she tried to scam me twice? Her reply, and this is no exaggeration but verbatim: "Just trying to run a business". Shameful. Which implies that this isn't maybe just her trying to skim, but that the management/ownership may be encouraging this. read more

Was visiting my friend in the Sherman Oaks Area. Really liked this cigar lounge, Owner is very nice and friendly. Selections of cigars are very good. Place is clean, ventilation was great. Didn't feel stuffy with smoke. Highly recommend it! read more

Not a great cigar place. Went in, nobody greeted me or was at the counter and had no help picking cigars. Lots of cigars had mold on them, weren't good, and clearly not properly stored. Every cigar is also overpriced by at least a dollar too. Try another place if you can. read more

This is the newest location of an established cigar shop owned by a nice family. I have been buying their Adwani brand cigars for years and all of my friends love them for their smoothness. This place is AKA Sherman Oaks Cigar. I'd been in there a few other times & the atmosphere was akin to walking in on a back room card game in a private bath house. The sentiment was always... less than friendly & welcoming. Fair enough. A "Hello" is always nice but I'll trade it for the convenient location. However, on my last visit (& I mean last) I asked if they carried a box of 5 of my favorite cigar, the owner told me they didn't carry the boxes of 5 but if I bought 5 he'd give me a 6th on the house. Sounded good- until he rung up the cigars and charged me more per cigar than he did 5 days earlier & considerably more than MSRP. LOL he ended up charging me MORE than If I'd just bought 6 individual ones. He thinks he got over on me, but for a few bucks he's lost my patronage. I'm sure it's no great loss to him but now I'm back to ordering online until I can find an honest local brick & mortar shop that appreciates my patronage. I'll pay a fair price np, but no one likes to be taken for a ride. read more
