But as soon as i walked in, I knew I was in for a gem and it didn't disappoint. I had such a great experience at Cigar Cave! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel right at home. They were fun and totally added to the vibe of the place, even if they inserted themselves into our conversation. Their energy was part of some really dope vibes and good fun! The selection of cigars they recommended based on the flavor profiles we described was spot-on. They have hundreds of cigars as well. Close the door when you enter and exit to keep the cigars fresh. They also serve beer and wine in cool glasses, which was a nice touch. The place has a low-lit, smokey, and had an edgy vibe that just screams chill. The decor is really unique and adds to the overall ambiance. Plus, they'll even change the TV to whatever you want, so you can kick back and enjoy your time however you like. It's super comfy and relaxed. I would definitely recommend this spot to others but not too many because I want to make this part of my monthly routine. The spot wasn't very busy for being in Gaslamp at night, which was a little surprising. The cigar selection could've been better, they didn't have what we originally wanted, but we were still able to find a couple options we liked. There is a humidor, though my cigar started falling apart a bit, like it may have been on the dry side. Overall, it got the job done. I'd be open to giving it another try next time I'm back on the West Coast.

But, I do have to say I miss the old place of which had a sweet n comfy ambience. But this new place will do. And it's not far from the old location. Still has the generous, comfy leather seating and tables. And there are plenty of flat screens on a few walls for preferred viewing. It's not as spacious as the old place, but it's clean and cozy. Nathan was working the counter and was very welcoming. Mike came over to see if we needed anything. It's a friendly place. Parking is easily accessible right out front. Habanos is conveniently right off the 8 freeway between Old Town and Ocean Beach. Good to know when we're in that part of town!

R & L T has some good bundle deals and sales throughout the year. We encounter lots of kind and interesting folks during our visit in. The food is elegant, is presented amazing, and tastes great. I started with the Sweet Corn and Piñon Soup. I see why it was voted best soup for two years in a row. The thinly sliced corn bread adds an amazing texture in those bites. I had the Apricot salad (sorry I did not note the name and the menu was updated so it is not in any of the pictures) was fresh, crisp, and refreshing. I finished the evening with a Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with sugared dark cherry was very pleasing. I almost forgot the focaccia bread.. made daily, served warm and soft. A must have. The server had a couple of hiccups with an incorrect food order and totally separate billing issue (which by their reaction I would assume was an off night) but other food delivery staff and bussing staff were timely and professional. I would recommend reservations. I was able to secure a seat (due to showing for dinner around 4 pm or so), but the restaurant filled up nicely and hosted about 4 anniversary's and 1 birthday in my time there. Dress attire seemed casual but there is definitely a more elevated clientele so I would recommend a thoughtful outfit for the experience.
