AWARENESS: My son and I recently stayed at MCAS Miramar and as you may (or may not) know, I enjoy my cigars. When I saw Royal Cigar was located not too far from the bases main gate, I made it point to check it out. NARRATIVE: Walking in to the lounge, directly to the right behind the main door you'll find their humidor with lots of smokes to choose from. Just prior to going in to the humidor, I was greeted by David, who explained a little about the lounge and their bar set up. After grabbing a few sticks, I may my way towards the backdoor area where there was plenty of plush, large leather seats. David came over shortly and asked if cared for an adult beverage and I settled for a sour beer. Royal Cigar Lounge has a very casual atmosphere and what made my time there so enjoyable was not the cigars I purchased but rather, the one on one, polite, and very knowledgable conversation David and I had during my short stay. You can have a great store. Filled with lots of great cigars and alcohol and peace but, what changes the ordinary to extraordinary is that extra of a good host like David. SCENE: Royal Cigar Lounge is located in Miramar right off of Miramar Road. The lounge is surrounded by really good eateries and the Royal staff doesn't mind if you dine in the lounge. Just remember. This place has become our go-to Sunday hangout. The cigar selection is excellent--tons of quality options at really fair prices--and the vibe is exactly what you want from a cigar bar. Relaxed, comfortable, and never overwhelmingly smoky. The seating is super comfy, which makes it easy to settle in for a while, and the customer service is top-notch. Huge shoutout to H and David--they always take incredible care of us and make everyone feel welcome without being pushy. If you're looking for a spot to kick back with friends, enjoy a great cigar, and actually be comfortable while doing it, this place delivers every time. Highly recommend. read more

This is a cool cigar lounge. Small but ample enough room. Great service, super friendly. Little on the smokey side and libations limited to beer and wine, but great selection. Cigar selection is excellent and the bartender was attentive. Enjoyed a couple of beers and relaxed. They allow you to bring food in and there are a few options right next door. Pizza, tacos, burgers... This was my second visit and I'll likely be back next time I'm in the area. read more

Me and my friends have been coming here for years and are usually waited on either by David or by H. These guys are awesome plain and simple. They have a fantastic wine and beer selection on tap and also have one of the best cigar selections I've seen locally. For years I've been an Oliva and an Ashton guy, but these guys have a solid selection of Padrons, Davidoffs, My Fathers, all of which I've lately become more accustomed to. Their humidor is massive and very well maintained. The quality of service you'll receive here is outstanding and you'll find yourself being offered another glass of wine or beer as you approach your final sips of your current drink. The attention to detail for your experience is impeccable and these guys have never left me feeling disappointed. There is a reason me and my cigar buddies have made this out to be our go-to cigar lounge in North County. It's not the closest to where live, but damn if it isn't the best that's worth the drive to get to. read more

Very comprehensive and well stocked humidor. The owner and staff could not be more helpful or informative if they tried. Now that are kids are grown the neighborhood dads needed some excuse to meet up . The Royal Cigar lounge is just perfect. I highly recommend this establishment. read more

A hidden treat, great customer service by David as he was very attentive and took his time with us. Celebrating with a perfectly paired glass of wine and cigar, while we caught a game after a massage. Not overly priced, 2 cigars, 3 glasses of wine for $65. Came down to spend weekend in Carlsbad and looked this place up. Love a great cigar lounge and Royal Cigar Lounge was a hit! Great cigar selection, "H" was super friendly and great to work with in selecting cigars! We just loved him!! The lounge has great selection of beer and wine and this girl enjoyed champagne while her man smoked his excellent cigar and cold beer! All the Sunday football games on the TV's to enjoy too! If you're in the San Diego area.... You gotta go and enjoy this Diamond Crown Cigar lounge. We will definitely return on our next visit . read more

Beautiful lounge with an ethereal atmosphere. Beautiful giant walk in humidor with a pretty good selection. Customer service (I unfortunately didn't get the Gentleman's name) was superb. I will definitely swing by again. Was very nervous about buying a few cigars when I did not have a my travel humidor and not projected to be at home for several hours. However when I rung my cigars up, the gentleman had placed them into a travel zip bag with a Boveda pack. I was instantly filled with gratitude. The only hit I would give is that the boveda pack used was a 72% RH pack and not a 65 for a small poly zip bag. But it's easier to dry cigars out than over humidify, so it's not a big deal. Again, amazing spot. read more

First time coming here. I wanted to purchase a humidor for my boyfriend as a surprise. I had no clue on which kind or style to purchase. The person I worked with was really nice, they told me all about the styles and size options available. I decided to sleep on it for a few days and then went back to make the purchase. I decided on beautiful humidor with this Black and light beige grain pattern. I decided last minute to get him a cigar as well. They also helped me choose one as well, I knew the basics of what he liked. They helped me find the best one. The humidor is beautiful and it comes with a velvet cover to protect it. The humidifier is magnetic and sticks to the top of the humidor. It comes with a lock and key. The lounge itself is quite spacious and they have a pretty large selection of cigars. They also offer wine. He's very happy with the new humidor and the cigar. It was well worth the money for a diamond crown humidor. read more

To the few 1 star reviews I've read, I have to say a guy making a mistake at the register? Not forgetting to post COVID hours? Go stick your head in a car door and slam it hard, this place is amazing! Take it from someone who's managed and continues to manage a successful cigar shop, the customer service is 100% and effortless. Seats are comfortable, humidor as a great selection and the over vibe is spot on. What I like most is that despite having several televisions on, the volume is low or muted instead they have a variety of different genres of music playing. I enjoy a cigar from time to time. Usually opting to smoke it in the privacy of my own backyard. I have never had a cigar in a lounge type setting until a couple of weeks ago. Accompanied by a long time friend. We both decided to go to one. My friend having been here a few times before recommended Churchill Cigar Lounge. To be honest. I was a little excited. Cigar smoking is a luxury that I don't do often but relish when I have the opportunity. This time was no different. Those who smoke cigars. Know that cigars come in different sizes from a small cigarillo to a giant toro. Cigar tobacco also have different strengths and flavors. I always go by rule of thumb. The darker the tobacco the stronger the cigar. The same goes with a lighter colored tobacco. The lighter the cigar the less intense the tobacco. As far as the taste. Just like wine grapes. It depends on the climate the tobacco was grown, the soil it was in, the water used, the type of tobacco seed used, how long was the tobacco aged, etc. A lot goes into a fine cigar. It definitely is a art. The overall vibe walking into Churchill was of happy people enjoying cigars. Light conversation followed by laughing. Felt pretty welcomed as I quickly looked around. I was too young at the time to frequent bars when smoking was permitted. I kind of feel it was something like this. The lounge itself looks upscale with low comfortable leather chaIrs and solid round wood tables. Lots of dark wood and glass through out. A varnished wood bar with tall leather bar stools. Behind the bar is a wine drinkers dream with beers on tap from Guinness to Stella Artois to Alagash White. Great beer selections. The star of the show though is the walk-in humidor. The humidor is huge. It takes up about a third of the cigar lounge. The biggest I have ever seen. Every cigar you can think of at every price point. I felt like a kid in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The inventory is just staggering. Picking a medium Romeo Y Julieta and pairing it with a nice lager beer. I sat down and proceeded to smoke my cigar. One thing I didn't foresee was going to a cigar lounge. The decision was the spur of the moment so I didn't have my cigar cutter and lighter. No problem. They will cut and light for you any cigar you purchase. The customer service is stellar. Sitting there with my friend enjoying our cigars and alcoholic drinks. My friend had a glass of burgundy instead of beer. We talked, watched a little TV and got to know some regular patrons. Overall it was relaxing time and left happy. If your a cigar enthusiast and haven't tried this place. I highly recommend coming here. Support local business especially the good ones. Churchill Cigar Lounge is awesome. read more

Stop by for a nice glass of wine and a good cigar. What a pleasant surprise! The staff is very knowledgeable on cigars and wine. They have good craft beers on tap, who could ask for more? Heiko the host was on it attending to everyone with David behind the bar. The place is small but offers good quality wine and cigars. The service is incredible. The attention given to clients is on par with a five star resort. The atmosphere is relaxing and very comfortable. Nothing like kicking back with a nice glass of wine and a great cigar. Especially after a long day at work. This place is located at the heart of Miramar Road the clientele is professional with a few deadbeats like me. This lounge is the best in the state.. i used to live in the area. Moved to Vegas 5 years ago, their only competition would be La casa in Summerlin LV, if they were close. Royal has a great humidor and great service. The place is clean and has a large selection of wines and draft beers. For you amateurs Dave the manager can hook you up to your tastebud likings. Hicko is the wine expert. The owner Willie is always a great host and will do his best to get the cigars you like. If you are a visitor , stop by and relax.. If I am in southern Ca. I will always go there to renew my experience.. It never lets me down.. Thanks to all the staff and regulars it will always always be my 2nd home!!!! read more

I've been coming here a lot more since Covid has slowed down and they're back to being open. It helps that David and H...are both great employees. Both friendly, and helpful when I'm lost in that huge humidor!! The lounge has an upscale, classy vibe, with comfortable leather chairs and all seats have a great view of the sports on the TVs. You see a lot of the usual customers there, and they're all nice. After having so many bad experiences dealing with Tom at Excalibur...it's nice to find an enjoyable place for a glass of wine and a stick. read more

Cleanest, well appointed indoor cigar lounge in San Diego. All are welcomed the same- doesn't matter first-timer or old-timer. If you're new to cigars you can expect excellent customer service and helping you ease in to a good cigar. Great selection in humidor which also includes a discount table for you cheap bastards (just kidding cheap bastards). Great wine and beer selection... and they're always doing something with food for special events. If you're hungry, there are some great food spots on the same lot that will deliver to your table. You can even get a great massage a few doors down according to a retired LE buddy. read more

I tried this place today. What can I say? I walked in the door and was promptly followed around the humidor being watched like I was there to rob the guy blind. Not cool. The shop: clean, upscale feeling, with a bar. Humidor: spacious walk-in no cramped feeling here. Clean. Selection: average. Overpriced. Way. Over. Priced. At least a half dozen lounges in the area where you can find the same sticks anywhere from $5-$10 less per stick! I suspect the prices reflect the environment they are looking to create rather than actual fair value. If you want to impress someone by spending a lot on a cigar, try this place out. If you're looking for a new spot to be followed around, try this place out. If you want a relaxed atmosphere with decently priced sticks look elsewhere. read more

One of the most welcoming places I have been. When you walk in everyone is friendly and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. From recommendations on cigars to craft beers and wine. They will ask you what your taste preferences are and make a recommendation for you. Dave is a plethora of knowledge and is constantly checking on you to make sure you are doing well. If you want a place to make new friends or meet up with old friends to catch up Royal is the place to do it. read more

This place is like my version of Cheers! Super mellow atmosphere, great staff and an incredible walk in humidor, this place is in close proximity to all of us corporate hacks in Sorrento Valley. They usually have a good selection of craft beers, wine, etc to enjoy with your cigar. Curiously enough it's next door to a kickboxing gym :-D Highly recommended spot to chill out after a long day in the office. read more

Then there's a door where you press a button, and it opens to bring you into the restaurant/bar. Inside, there's a mix of tables and bar seating, and they serve food in addition to having an extensive cocktail menu. The drink menu was definitely the highlight for me. There were so many creative and unique cocktails that really stood out. I'm usually not a huge cocktail person because I don't like overly sweet drinks, and it can be surprisingly difficult to find cocktails that are both original and sophisticated enough to actually sip and enjoy. They definitely nailed that here. I tried several: *Kasato Maru: This was so smooth and absolutely delicious. By far my favorite. You could really pick up the St. Germain elderflower and pear, and the flavors worked beautifully together. Definitely one of my favorites. *Sunomono: This was more liquor-forward, but still incredibly smooth. Definitely a good choice if you want something that lets the spirits shine. *Je Ju: Unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. It had a really unusual flavor that just didn't work with my palate, and my friend wasn't a fan either. I'm usually not one to send a drink back, but the staff was fantastic about it. They happily took it back and made me a completely different cocktail. *Softly Spoken: My friend ordered this one, and it came in a glass filled with small ice cubes. I tried it and thought it was really good, but it wasn't quite my personal preference. It definitely had more of a fruity flavor profile. The food looked absolutely amazing although we didn't eat here this time. There are still so many cocktails on the menu that I want to try so I'll definitely need to come back. The atmosphere is dimly lit, intimate, and full of character. It has that cool, moody feel that makes you want to sit back, sip a cocktail, and stay awhile. On 4/10/26, I went to Vape Smoke Universe to purchase a mod and was also sold batteries for it. After getting home, I realized the batteries they sold me were completely incompatible with the mod. I went back to the store to fix the issue, only to find out they didn't even have the correct batteries in stock. Had I known that from the beginning, I never would've bought the mod in the first place. I then had to go back home AGAIN to grab the box to attempt a return or exchange, and made a third trip back to the store--all because of their mistake. That's three trips and a huge waste of my time. Instead of properly fixing the issue, their "solution" was to deliver the correct batteries to me later, after I'm already off work, which is incredibly inconvenient. They sold me incompatible products, caused multiple unnecessary trips, and still refused to take accountability or offer any real compensation for the inconvenience. I even tried to exchange for a different mod (with about a $60 difference in price), and they still wouldn't work with me at all. The whole situation made it feel like I was the problem, when this all started because of their error. Very disappointing experience. After being a loyal customer for years, this is how they handle things. I won't be returning and will be taking my business elsewhere.
