I completely agree with the above posting: They are unhelpful, have abysmal customer service, are rude and inconsiderate. They also give mis-information, i.e. guaranteeing a prescription will be delivered by a certain time and date and then not delivering. In my unfortunate case, this left me facing a weekend without this medication, which involves experiencing particularly uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. I have mentioned several times to the customer service reps the automated system doesn't work and I get silence. Got prescription for NEXIUM with 3 refills. First fill was charged $60. When I called to refill the automated system asked if I wanted it charged to the credit card on file and I selected the option for YES. They then charged me $160 for the refill WITHOUT telling me what the charge would be prior to me selecting YES. Their system does not tell you what the charge will be so BUYER BEWARE!! you will only find out once you look at your bank statement. I called to get the charge reversed be I NEVER AGREED to the $160 charge and they didn't want to refund my money. I spoke to a manager who repeated the same thing and would not budge. He even tried to sell me on the fact that 90 NEXIUM pills is a bargain at $160 and that retail was way higher than that. I looked up the price on other websites and it is much much cheaper. Absolutely not worth it. I have always had an issue when trying to use their "convenient" service. Sometimes they didn't bill my credit card when I provided the information, so I couldn't refill online and had to call them. Their hold time is always a minimum of 15 minutes, plus trying to explain simple issues to the person on the phone. Their most recent decision has been to cancel prescriptions, citing the doctor did not send them the prescription. That is a complete lie, I have watched my doctor send the prescription and Cigna's website lists that the prescription is current. How did they get the prescription information if my doctor didn't send it? I have decided to fill with a traditional pharmacy rather than wait weeks to get answers (which I have given up on, no one seems to understand how their system works over there.) read more

My husband has had a kidney transplant and is on several special anti-rejection medications. I have been trying to have one of his anti-rejection medicines refilled since mid December. (Today is 01/05) The specialty pharmacy had a problem with the prescription so - they didn't call - they didn't e-mail - they mailed a snail mail letter dated 12/19 to let me know. I didn't get it until right in the middle of the holidays and couldn't get the transplant center to get a new prescription sent to the specialty pharmacy right away. Talked to someone at Cigna specialty pharmacy who said as soon as he got the prescription from the transplant center he would call our local pharmacy to get it filled and would overnight the prescription because at that point Frank only had one day left of this important anti-rejection medication! Nothing happened. I called again 01/02 and they said they had definitely received the prescription and it would be overnighted that day. I told them he had been without his medication for a couple of days. We still didn't get the medicine he needed. Today we finally got a prescription in the mail and it was the wrong one! I called them up again and screamed at them!!! Said WHAT THE F... DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT HE NEEDED THIS MEDICINE DAYS AGO!!! Totally lost it and I do not often do that. So the woman I spoke with tonight got it called in to our local pharmacy and I picked it up within the hour. So what I don't get is why the hell don't most of the employees at a specialty pharmacy do their jobs without people like me having to lose their temper? I thought it was exorbitant and so I checked Costco prices (they do not take insurance plans) and found the total purchase to be $30. This insurance is new to me through ironicly a dialysis company. I have a kidney transplant and they wanted to charge me 180.00 a month for one medication. I have been on these meds since 2008 and not about to risk this expense, one good reason if you didn't look for answers a lot of people go through failed transplants because of costs like this. I have a secondary insurance for my condition but they will not bill them. Their solution was to call the company and beg for them to pay my copay. They are no help at all. Why this company that makes so much money went with an awful unhelpful company like this Is beyond me. I got my meds all these years through U of M transplant pharmacy which has helped me over and over through transitions so that I got my meds. I don't know what I would do without their help in situations. When they called cigna they were not helpful to them either with finding a solution of billing a secondary insurance. I don't call this insurance, I call it a disaster! A failed transplant, dialysis etc would cost way more then just a little help from a rx company. Cigna Home Pharmacy is terribly cost prohibitive for anyone on a fixed income, with ongoing health conditions. I 'm supposed to be on ten different medications. Unfortunately, Cigna doesn't even discount half of them! They pay for "traditional" drugs (blood pressure, statins, diabetes...) but not others. Consequently, medications I desperately need for other conditions cannot be filled, because I simply can't afford them. Sometimes, there are no affordable alternative drugs to switch to, other time the alternative covered drugs simply don't work! Why am I paying for coverage that doesn't cover what I need??!!! I will choose NOT to be covered next coverage period, if our company keeps Cigna. The money I save not paying premiums WILL cover the medications I need to live a "normal" life. I will start with, the only upside to using Cigna Home Pharmacy is that the 90 day supply option is always somewhat cheaper. I've had one straightforward prescription with them in the past and filling that and reorder has always been easy. This review is mainly for my experience getting new medications filled from my dermatologist. Customer service SEEMS competent, but 90% of reps I spoke to are not. Took me 5-6 separate phone calls on separate days to separate reps to FINALLY get someone with a brain to get the order moving. I spent cumulative HOURS on hold with people only to find out they must have been filing their nails while I was on hold, because NOTHING they said they did was ever done! Issue was that one medication was discontinued/not covered so I said OK--remove it and ship the rest out. This was held up for multiple reason since the Friday before (now Thursday) and stuck in this "status" for 3 whole days. I was assured by 4 separate people that the ONE medication had been removed and the other two would be shipped out. When I finally called back the last time, she was naming the WRONG medication being removed and STILL told me about how the pharmacist was working so hard to find the other medication/alternative for me. I told her I had already been through this, I was told it was taken care of, and I just want the ONE removed and the other two shipped out. Luckily, I finally saw a change in my order online and I THINK it's going to finally ship out. This place is a total, total joke. I know incompetence is rampant these days, but it's unfathomable that they're allowed to operate like this with people's life saving medication on the line. read more

OMG, the worst pharmacy ever! They absolutely deserve every last one star they have received, and there are plenty. Unfortunately all of the Rite Aid pharmacies by my home have been taken over by Walgreens, and like Cigna, a horrible pharmacy. I decided to give Cigna another try since it is cheaper and I haven't used another pharmacy but Rite Aid in many years. Well Cigna did NOT prove me wrong. They are still as bad as ever. When I called I specifically asked for one prescription to be sent to me by overnight mail. You guessed it, I received every other medication but the one I needed most. They even had the nerve to send me AND charge me an overnight delivery fee for a prescription I didn't need! When I called I got their favorite excuse, we have not been able to get in touch with your doctor. Seriously! I had a feeling that was the lousy excuse they were going to give me, so I went to my doctor and had them give me a new prescription. However, according to Cigna my only way to get the prescription to them was by mail. So, you want me to wait another week or probably more to get my prescription? No thanks. I NEVER had to call Rite Aid to order any prescription. They always had them to me on time, even when I had to have a new prescription from my doctor, any doctor! They made contact with my doctor for me and would even let me know if I needed to see my doctor before another refill could be completed. If they were out of my prescription they would find it for me at another location. I will be looking for another pharmacy, just wish I could find one as good as Rite Aid! read more

My wife's employer no longer offered CareFirst Blue Cross/Blue Shield (CF BC/BS) as of January 1, 2014, and our only two choices for employer health insurance were Kaiser Permanente or Cigna, so she chose Cigna. We had CF BC/BC for a number of years which used Walgreens Mail Order Pharmacy and I really liked their service. On January 14th, I mailed a prescription order form and two prescriptions to Cigna Home Delivery Service. By January 25th, the web site was still showing "No Orders" for me. I thought perhaps it had got lost in the mail. So, on that date, I submitted an inquiry via their "Ask a Pharmacist" feature on their web site to see if they received my order and inquire about the status of it. On January 31st, I had not received a response to my online inquiry but it was finally showing on their web site that they had received my prescription order and it was being processed. This was much longer than what I was used to. I used Walgreens Mail Order Pharmacy when I had CF BC/BS. After mailing a prescription order to them, it would usually be on their web site within 3 to 5 days and I also would receive an e-mail advising that they had received it. I did not receive an e-mail from Cigna even though they have my e-mail address. I had to keep checking the web site every few days. On January 31st, I also called the pharmacy to ask a question about pharmacy benefits. I couldn't get an answer from the web site because every time I clicked on "Pharmacy" under "Review My Coverage," I got two error messages: one said that the web page had not loaded properly and to refresh my browser. I did this to no avail. The second message, right below it, said that their servers were down for maintenance and to try back later. This happened 5 times in January, each and every time I tried to view my pharmacy benefits. I was on hold over 10 minutes before my call was answered only to be told by the lady that she couldn't answer my question. She said the number I had called was for the pharmacy and she could answer only questions regarding prescription orders, and their status. She said I needed to speak with someone in "Pharmacy Member Services." The number I called is the only phone number on the back of their prescription order form and web site for anything pharmacy related, and it doesn't say that this number is only for the purposes I was told. There is no separate number on either the form or web site for Pharmacy Member Services. There should be, with an explanation for each number is for. After being on hold for ONE HOUR AND 25 MINUTES, I finally got an answer to my question. But, not directly from anyone in Pharmacy Member Services because no one in that department every answered the phone. The lady who originally took my call has a friend in that department. They both are members of the professional networking web site "LinkedIn." The lady who took my call was logged onto the web site and she saw when her friend returned after being out of the office and logged onto the web site. So, she sent her a message containing my question, over the Internet, via LinkedIn, to get an answer for me. I applaud her initiative to get an answer for me the way she did, but seriously, what kind of way is this to run a business? I have no idea how much longer I would have been on hold if she hadn't done what she did, but that also says a lot about the Pharmacy Members Services department. The lady had time to log onto LinkedIn after returning to the office but couldn't answer the phone? On 2/2/14, I finally received a response from the inquiry I submitted on 1/25/14 about my prescription order. The response said, "we are waiting for your physician to respond to our request for clarification concerning your medication." This was only partially helpful because I submitted two prescriptions written by two different doctors. If I knew which doctor they were awaiting a response from, I could call his office and maybe light a fire under them to respond and find out what clarification Cigna needs. Also, this "hold up" in filling my prescription order was not showing up on their web site under my prescription order status, like it would have on the Walgreens web site. Unfortunately, I cannot go back to CF BC/BS, and the Walgreens Mail Order Pharmacy, unless I go through the government's health care web site and purchase insurance on my own. So, for now, I'm stuck with Cigna and my experience with them in such a short period of time has been abysmal. read more

You might even be lucky and get told " your prescription will be sent to you within 24-48 hours after processing" and no one seems to know how long processing takes. Even to speak to a manager she was a ditz, she wanted me to track my package once she notices that it ships out ( keep in mind the shipment it due to ship out free of charge overnight) why again I would need to track an overnight when I am assuming that it would show up at my door that morning. Needless to say no one can contact anyone anywhere at this so called ( dispenser area ) where they dispense you medication to even know when the heck it will be done. I would say never deal with them I have been waiting for a month and no one bothered to tell me it was on backorder. They have no common sense for peoples lives and that if it was them or there family needing there medication they would be up there butts calling and finding out where the heck it is. I have had similar problems as others have listed. We have been required to use Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy for the past 4.5 years. They have cancelled my order, mailed my medication to my mother-in-law's home in another state, "lost" my credit card information and multiple times held the prescription for some reason without contacting me. I am so fed-up with their service but there is no one to complain to. My doctor's office sent in my prescription electronically and they've held it for a week because there was no "signature". So, rather than calling me, they have faxed the doctor's office twice when their voicemail clearly states they will not respond to a pharmacy only to the patient (HIPPA, I'm sure). We've been through this before and they can't just pick up the phone, like my local pharmacy would, and say, "Hey, here's the problem." Now I'm without my medication and it'll be another week before I get after I call the doctor myself tomorrow, I'm sure. read more

Horrible service. I requested a supervisor and was refused! My refill order was placed 2.5 weeks ago by my physician. They, of course, have no record of the fax sent by my doctors office. They said they would contact my physician today. They did not. I contacted my physician and they re-sent the RX. Called Cigna tonight and guess what? They don't have it. When they finally do get it, it will be 15 days during which I have been out of my medication. I cannot wait that long and will, of course, purchase it myself which is EXACTLY WHAT THEY ANTICIAPTE! They are not incompetent, they are thieves. Period! And, they are foolish thieves, are owned and operated by CIGNA. Failure to provide medication, can result in huge medical bills. I have called twice now, for a refill on cholesterol meds. They claim they have not received anything from my doctor who has now faxed my RX twice. I called in a script, had expired, customer service person said no problem, I will call or fax your doctor. Two weeks later I receive a letter from Jeff Nielsen, R Ph. stating that they have tried to call and fax my doctor with no success. I picked up the phone and called Brittany and she said we have not received any calls from Cigna or faxes.. Brittany told me that they receive and send prescriptions via electronics system and they have not received anything from Cigna. When I spoke to Sierra at Cigna she would not let me speak to Jeff Nielson as he was the Chief Pharmacist and just a name on the letter. I am a prisoner of Cigna Home Delivery. If I could give less than one star, I would. I've used Cigna home pharmacy in the past to fill one prescription and it wasn't much of a hassle but this time around has been a huge problem. I called them upon receiving three new prescriptions in order to quickly get the process started. I was connected with someone who only read from a script and could not or would not answer my basic questions. Two of my medications they carry, but the other they do not. I asked if I could then have it covered at a local pharmacy since they do not carry it, but the woman on the phone did not answer my question, instead she read something off of her script that made no sense. I've received several letters from them after I thought my order was being processed that say there is an issue with the order. The most recent issue is they are interpreting the prescription my doctors faxed to them as being for four pills of each medication, not four refills. My doctor has contacted them twice now and I have contacted them now six times, some calls lasting as long as an hour. I contacted them today and after 30 minutes into the call the man on the other line said he couldn't hear me, proceeded to hang up, and then not call back with the number they have on file. I've been without my medication for a month now as they refuse to approve an override for me to pick it up locally as they process the order. I've gotten to the point where I would rather pay $100+ out of pocket, money that I don't necessarily have, for my medication each month then go through them to have it covered by insurance. What is the point of having insurance if they make it impossible to use? I've never experienced an issue as exhausting and down right stupid as this one. I do not understand how an insurance company who stresses health and wellness can subject their clients to such horrible service. There are people who rely on their medications to live a quality life. This pharmacy service is seriously endangering the lives of their customers and where will the blame be put if someone becomes ill or worse because this service fails to do what it's supposed to? read more

Healthcare provision in the U.S. takes a giant step backward when it comes to Cigna Home Delivery Pharmacy. You can't talk to them without a 45 minute hold-time (regardless of the time-of-day), your doctor can't e-prescribe because they don't yet have a system in place, you can't get the fax number for your doctor to fax-in a prescription ("fax number, sir? I'm sorry we don't give that out"), your doctor won't wait on the line for 45 minutes of uncompensated time, their on-line system simply doesn't have accurate prescription records for renewal and simply reject renew attempts for valid available refills, and finally, even when they finally agree to send you a refill, they don't always come through. Sadly, if you use this company, it's probably not by your own choice. Your employer picked it because, on paper, they are the low-cost provider. How did that happen? Well, when you don't actually acquire pharmaceuticals on behalf of customers and don't ship them anything, your costs are going to be pretty low. This is the worse idea ever, but now that we have the Obamacare all insurance benefits, or the lack there of are not to meet the needs of the consumer, but rather the wants of the big insurance companies. I have called Cigna Home Delivery 3 days in a row to get my prescription filled and even did all the work to get my Dr. to send what they need in order to get my meds more quickly. They have messed up the order 3 times. I have diabetes and cannot get my meds at my local pharmacy, but HAVE to go to this mail order mess. I tell you this is only going to get worse as we get deeper into the Ocare. The insurance companies are going to charge more for less and those that have real medical problems will suffer more. If I could give them a negative -10 I would. I have had more than one issue with this company, after this prescription I will no longer use them. First screw up- last year- I called before ordering since I had a coupon, the operator said to make sure to put a note on top to say only 1 month due to coupon, so then they send me 4 months, us my debit card before my prescription card, and didn't use the coupon. second screw up- I called to tell them about this- it took them a week to get the money back to me- I said it took you less than a day to take the money out of my account but a week to put back. Then the rep said oh- we can get you automatic delivery every month- I said ok- since normally when I call I have to wait from 30-50 minutes anyway to get my prescription reordered and to make sure they only send 1 month instead of 3-4. However the next month, no automatic delivery- so I called and talked to a manager (Brad) which by the way was so manager in my ears, he was a smartass, and said your medicine is on automatic delivery. I said then why didn't I get it- his excuse, maybe it got lost in the mail, yeah right- dummy- if so it would show on my insurance that they paid. Never sent- so now another month later, which by the way I am out of medicine, they still haven't sent it. Called again today- talked to another idiot there- we will see if my medicine gets shipped out or not. I let everyone know about this company - about horrible customer service, long waits to get into talk to someone (it doesn't matter what time of day or week, always 30-50 minute wait), managers are rude. I know my Doctor doesn't like dealing with them, and said its the worse she has ever dealt with and she deals with lots of places who fill prescriptions. Their problem is that they have too many hands in the pot. Each order that CHDP takes, goes through way too many processes. They do not hold themselves accountable to the customer. They forget all too often that the customer is what keeps them in business If you are able to choose another pharmacy, I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, many businesses are choosing Cigna because they are competitive and want to lock down the market of mail order pharmacy, therefore they offer businesses fantastically good deals at a low cost. They truly do not give a damn about their customers or their employees. This is why the employees are so rude and miserable. The customer service reps are required to adhere to a certain metric in respect to handle time with customers. They only have like 420 seconds to take care of each base business customers needs. That is not a lot of time when you're talking about patient wellness and health. I always felt that each customer should be treated as gold and all of their needs should be met on just one phone call. Reps actually get fired and lose everything if they do not consistently meet those standards. They rush patients off of the phone and leave out key important details, which only prompts the customer to have to call back. It's a shame because so many of Cigna's customers suffer. Medicare needs to pull the plug on them too.They treat our seniors horrible. I worked there for several years and in several different capacities. I ordered my meds, and then began waiting to receive them. After a couple of weeks I called and was told my meds were being held, but no one could tell me why. I called my doctor's office and they intervened on my part. I was told it took more than 30 minutes on the phone to get it straightened out. My doctor's office assured me I would be getting it soon. It didn't come. I called Cigna again. They told me my meds were being held, but they didn't know why because my doctor did call and authorized. After a long wait on hold I was told my meds would be shipped overnight, but it wouldn't be mailed for three more days....WHAT???? In the meantime I have been without my meds for three weeks. Bottom line....my doctor prescribed medication. My insurance company, Cigna, demands I use Cigna Home Delivery and they refuse to send my medicine with no explanation. I've had pretty much the same experiences that have been commented on before. My doctor switched over to only doing electronic prescriptions and Cigna Home Delivery can not take electronic prescriptions. I switched doctors and decided to give them a try. My first set of prescriptions went through fine, but then I needed to order glucose monitoring strips. When I got the order, they charged me full price. I called to find out why and after 45 minute discussion with Presavia I could not get a solution to the problem. She initially told me that my deductable wasn't met even though she could see prior prescriptions that I only had to pay a copay on, then said that my out of pocket wasn't met. When I asked to talk to her supervisor - Bonnie was too busy to come to the phone. I agree with another reviewer in that I'd rather pay the higher cost of going to my local pharmacy than deal with them. read more
