Though parking is plenty, it was hard to understand the layout when we first drove in. They still use a gravel/dirt/grass lot, which isn't a big deal, but the spaces of where we could park weren't immediately clear. I was impressed by the inexpensive options on their menu though and the portion sizes were big. However, those are the only good points. We ordered biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, and their Pig in a Pancake, which wraps a breakfast sausage in a pancake. The food was overly salty and my pancake was very dry. No syrup was brought out; we had to go grab it ourselves. Same with eating utensils, which they now use disposable plastic ware. Paper towels are on each table, the only convenience. Though the employees here are nice, they did the bare minimum and never checked in on us after bringing us our food. I'm sad to see that this place has gone downhill.

They give you a pager to let you know when it's chow time. Bring the pager to the kitchen window where your hot food will be waiting for you. I ordered the catfish and gulf shrimp. I t came with hush puppies and coleslaw. I added the fried okra as my side. My wife had the gulf shrimp as well and couldn't stop raving about it. Everything was delicious. My wife ordered a burger and devoured it without a single word. This is how I know she truly enjoyed it. I went for two tacos (they run about $6 bucks each) including the Pulled Hammy and the Mama Migas. Both were packed with flavor and spicy enough to keep me on my toes. Service was on point. Our waitress hustled even though it was a chill lunch crowd. The bar itself has this cozy (not wide) historic downtown vibe with brick and wood and all the kind of stuff you see in those hip Austin places people brag about. We've heard a lot about this place but have never been. Of course we think to ourselves "It's probably not up to the hype..." Well, we were very mistaken. Upon entering you realize it is just a plain, ordinary, local eatery. The food is probably going to be good, but not great. Then you remember you're in Downtown Bryan when you look at the menu pricing. Well... This place is DEFINITELY worth the hype. Yes, it's a regular ol' local eatery but it's so much better than average. The pricing of the menu is on par with the quality of the food here. I'd never say this place is overpriced considering what you get. And what do you get? Real. Food. Authentic, not stored in bags (at least it didn't appear to be that way), fresh, and of course TASTY! I got the Chile Relleno (always the first thing I get at any new mexican food place) and it was HUGE and full of flavor. That was NOT frozen. The tortillas were hot and wonderfully flavorful. The one thing that blew my mind was the guac. I am not a big guac fan but of course I have to try it. That stuff was amazing. So, go them! Was there for the first time and it was so good!! Really lives up to the hype! We had the beef fajitas poblanas ( recommended by our waitress) and they were super delicious, the best fajitas we've ever had! The tortillas are handmade and are huge! The staff was amazing, the hostess and busser were very welcoming and our waitress who's name I believe was Myra, always made sure we were doing good, super nice and attentive girl! The restaurant is situated away from the main tourist areas and tends to be quite busy. We appreciated the service; all the employees were exceptionally welcoming. Made a last minute reservation here for lunch for our big group, and it was so good!! Most of our group got fajitas. I had the poblano steak, and they were excellent.
