We contracted Cimarron for our pool build. The pool was designed by architects and build was contracted to Cimarron. It took somewhere around 1.5 years from start to finish to get this project done. Likely not their norm and just another reminenet of the pandemic. Communication was spotty and a source of frustration through the process. We ran into issues with our tile order and pricing on their end that eventually got resolved, but it was not a small error. Cimarron contracts everything out from the digging to tiling, plastering, etc. It's a very frustrating process and leaves the customer vulnerable to a lot of mistakes and poor quality control. Once the pool was filled we encountered more problems with their install of the filters. I think three starts is being really fair. It felt more like a two but they came through and addressed every single issue we encountered. read more

Cimarron Circle Construction built my pool, and it became functional about four years ago. I recently called because my pool light doesn't work. Two fellows came out and replaced the GFCI to the light, but it only worked one night. I called and emailed to let them know. They emailed a bill for over $200 and I told them I wouldn't pay until the light worked. The front desk person said the fellows came out twice. No, they didn't. There was no way they could have accessed the light switch without my being here. She was adamant and since I'm not accustomed to lying to people, I got angry. I had emailed the company to let them know when I would be available for the repair, but I've never heard from them again. I guess the $35,000 plus that I paid them for the pool was adequate for them to do the job, but they aren't interested in supporting their product. Not a good business practice. read more

Cimarron did a great job in advising me on what tile to but to rehab my spa edges. Their tile installer did a fantastic job. They also did a very good job rehabbing the whole pool deck which is very large. Cimarron will be my choice again for future work. read more

Cimarron Circle Construction is a fine pool and spa construction company. We LOVE our pool, nestled as it is among the desert, with rocks selected from our land. There was never a problem, from building to sign-off to maintenance to (the usual) occasional pool and spa circulation/heating operation repair issues. Quick and pleasant helpful response. All nice folks as well, which we highly value. Now, it is true that as a pool building company, they may not always be up-to-date with new pool pumps, and finding the latest items and accessories for repairs. For this, it seems best to go to a pool repair/maintenance company, of which there are many in greater Tucson. We recently discovered this when Cimmaron could not deliver a new pool pump when ours burned out, but other pool repair companies could do so easily and quickly; we chose the closest and least expensive one, and all is well. But, if you need a new pool, or a major renovation of an old one, we would trust Cimarron Circle Construction above all others in our sphere of knowledge. They may not always be the least expensive. Indeed, they were most expensive of three bids we had for building the pool, but we chose them due to reputation, and are solidly happy that we paid slightly more for the best. Longevity in the business, and accumulated experience and wisdom, count. For you the client, this is a life-long or near-life-long commitment, with smiles. Thanks, Cimarron. The company's service has deteriorated since the founder's son took over. They have no available technicians at this time. Their techs complain they are treated horribly and they have left to work elsewhere. They say their remaining tech is on medical leave and might not come back to work. They have no person capable of fixing problems they created with improper installation of replacement parts. After 10 yrs, I had to fire them from weekly servicing my pool. read more

I called the company for an estimate on my pool's cleaning system not working. I was told by Randy that I will be charged for $95 for the Tech to come over who will give me a quote. Such amount will be deducted if I chose to go with them for the service. A call was made that I pay the invoice of $95 after the Tech. I requested the invoice be sent to my address and it says "please let us know if you would like a quote". Randy said the $95 is just for the trip and if I would like a quote she will send somebody to come over. Coming over again to give me a quote should which have been done in the first place! And I am guessing I will be charged for the trip and quote again! I will be sending the $95 but I am very unhappy about this whole thing. read more

Found that the pool is beautiful but the way the plumbing works is actually flawed and I received no response to my letter. If they propose a pool design, I suggest you have a certified plumber review the plans to make sure their design will work. Anyway, we greatly enjoy the pool but have been having some difficulties. The pool is a negative edge pool with a trough that catches the water and returns it to the tank that's buried about 7-8' feet into the ground. The issue that we're having is that the lines from the pool to the tank constantly clog and the water overflows into the desert--a waste of water and quite a bit of maintenance. I am writing you to ask for assistance. Finally, I got tired of wasting water or having the pool clog when we were at work so I called a plumber--Wood's Plumbing in Marana and had Wesley Woods--a licensed plumber come out to the home to try and assist me with the issue. So Mr. Woods took the access portal lid off the tank and then two feet below is the actual tank with the sensors installed. Wesley and another plumber did an analysis and stated the reason the water was not draining and clogging correctly. The return line is plumbed to the bottom of the tank 7 feet down. Now the question is--does the line go across horizontally from the drain or does it go down 7 feet from the pool and across. I don't know. I guess we could run a camera and see. Clearly--the line should have gone to the top of the tank and that way the drain lines would constantly clear and there would be no issue with the drains. I'm politely requesting you address this design issue and work with me to a resolution amicably. At first I agreed but then I re-read what I wrote and it still stands. I don't blame the job foreman. These problems start at the top. I had emailed the VP of the company several times with my concerns. He responded occasionally but never once offered an apology for the inconvenience and delays. read more

We used this company to build our pool because of hearing reputable things about them. But it's not worth the headache of having to deal with a project manager that doesn't have the skills to manage his contractors. Contractors that laid down the travertine was sloppy and did a horrible job with the evenness of the travertine and left concrete stuck on travertine throughout the yard and left their mess. When the contractor, Chuy, came out to fix it all he did was pounded down the travertine, chipped some travertine in the process and didn't fix all of them. When I contacted the project manager, Eddie, he didn't seem to care. It felt like they could care less now that they got paid. At this point I got the construction manager, Tim, involved. Tim came out to see what I was talking about and agreed that the work was done poorly. I was asked by Eddie to tag all the travertine I wanted fixed, again, which I did. When Chuy came out a second time they made it worse again making some areas of travertine very sharp and actually chipped some more travertine and they left even more messes around the yard. The third time coming out Tim, Eddie, and Chuy all came out at the same time to meet with me to be on the same page as far as what work was needed. Immediately walking into our yard Tim saw areas that were really bad. He told Eddie and Chuy to take care of the problem and to ensure that the yard is left cleaned up. Chuy finally fixed the unevenness but there are still some travertine that are chipped from his work but at this point I don't want him ruining anymore. But of course the mess around the yard was not cleaned up at all which I contacted Eddie about it. He never responded. I gave him a week before contacting him again. I also informed Tim about it. Eddie finally came out on his own to pick up the mess. Eddie is a nice guy and all but to be a project manager takes skills to manage at a high level, which was lacking. I do not recommend this company due to the lack of quality and care especially when the customer is paying a lot of money for quality work. read more

We hired Cimarron Circle to build our pool and spa. We were out of town during the initial phases of the construction but our Project Manager (John) did a great job keeping us in the loop with face time and phone calls. Billy and company did a wonderful job combining the existing landscaping into the flow of the pool and the tile mason we had was a true craftsman. We absolutely love the backyard transformation! Our pool is a salt water pool so there has been a bit of a learning curve with that but the staff at Cimarron has been helpful and patient with us through this process. We also hired them to perform our weekly / biweekly pool maintenance and are pleased with that service. I would not hesitate to recommend Cimarron to friends and family. read more

I have had the opportunity to visit several of the residential and commercial properties on which Cimarron Circle has built swimming pools. I was accompanied by Rob Staples, the son of the company founder, Doug Staples, and current VP of Cimarron. I had never seen an infinity pool for real before: the one I visited overlooked the Tucson valley from a vantage point in the Foothills, and it was absolutely stunning. The pool had a spa decorated in glass mosaic with water flowing over 3 of the 4 edges. Remarkable. The second pool was contemporary in style with a very interesting feature: on the very shallow end of the pool, Cimarron Circle installed 2 bright red lounge chairs directly in the water. The chairs are not fully submerged, with about a foot of water covering the seating part: chill out in the water while tanning under the Arizona sun! From a design standpoint, the pool gives the property the feel of a resort. It is surrounded by beautiful green grass and overlooks the bed of the Santa Fe river. Awesome. The third pool visited had just been completed 2 weeks before: the commercial pool of the Ventana Canyon Racquet Club. It's a large pool which is relatively shallow with about 5 feet of water at the deep end. It's shape is irregular, with offsets, nooks and curved adges. The deck is large, with an army of lounge chairs all around, a bar and a towel station. Cimarron Circle equipped this pool with a basketball hoop, in case you fell like shooting hoops your legs in the water. Just beautiful all around. I do not know many pool builders personally, but still, I was impressed with the quality of their work and the beauty of the designs. read more

We had a pool resurfaced by Cimarron in late 2014. They recoated the bottom and sides, new decorative tile, put in new ladders and support rails, we upgraded to powder coated (supposed to ale for a very long time) and installed a new pool light. The job took much longer than promised, there is still decking that has not been re-painted to match original color. The pool light has never worked properly and after several attempts, it still does not work. Cimarron charged us for the first light repair, even though we had to call them to come back and re-do because it wasn't working. They would not come back to the property until we paid the bill for repairing the light which still does not work. The powdered coated, more expensive ladders and railings are peeling, the coating is chipping away from the metal and going into the pool. The light does not work still. And Cimarron states that they have no liability. I even went to the Registrar of Contractors and because I had another company look at the pool light to confirm that it wasn't a switch problem and that it is in the wiring between the switch and the light, the ROC said I had no recourse even though Cimarron had been to the property and did work on the light within the two year window. The ROC said Cimarron did no work, because they only checked the switch, even though Cimarron's own invoice stated that they did "work' on the light. So $16,000 later, I have no light that works and my expensive powder coated ladders and railings are peeling. BUYER BEWARE! read more

I started with this company on a positive note. The sales job was pretty good. But shortly after the project started, many things went sour. It was a pool resurfacing with Pebble Tec, new tile, and a spa deck repair. What was supposed to be a 3 week project turned into a 3 month project. Both the sales rep and the onsite project manager were horrible in returning calls or being available to discuss concerns. While the tile turned out very nice and the spa deck reconstruction was ok, the Pebbel Tec pool resurfacing and the spa resurfacing were completely unsatisfactory. Two independent pool inspectors have confirmed this. And yet when the Pebble Tec rep from Phoenix came down to look at our concerns, he says the defects are simply a consequence of a hand applied product. Baloney! He's simply covering for his buddies in the business. Moreover, my spa drain is plugged with junk from the resurfacing and doesn't work. Eight months later we are still going round and round about fixing the problems with the pool surface and the drain. If it is not fixed soon, we will be in small claims court. This was my worst contracting job after over 17 years in Tucson, and we have had many contractors do different things in our house. I would not wish this company on anyone. read more

Ok, I told Rob Staples I would clear up my bad review I gave on 1/22/19, since he got my spa fixed. Originally big problems with a Pebble Tec application on a pool and spa resurfacing, and I wanted it fixed. Went round and round for the longest time with Cimarron and the Pebble Tec company. You can read my review. In the end, after almost a year, Rob Staples worked it so I got my spa replastered (the pool was ok, and minor things were fixed, sort of). But the spa looked horrible after the first application, spider crack lines everywhere, and the contractor and Pebble Tec kept saying that "well, its a hand applied product, its going to vary, and it was a hot day, that's what you get". By the way, Cimarron doesn't do the application, they contract out for it. But in the end, Rob came through and worked it out with Pebble Tec and the contractor so that it was redone. And it looks perfect. Thanks, Rob. Lesson here is, when the contractor tells you that some imperfection is just that way, that's the way it is, don't believe them or take it. Quality work can be done if a contractor wants to do it. Also, lesson is, don't have your pool done in the summer, once the temps approach 100F. You'll have lots of problems and the contractors will simply say, "well, that's what happens when it gets hot". Do all your pool renovations in the spring or fall. Don't let them convince you otherwise. read more
