We arrived about 7 pm on a Sunday and we were seated immediately and were nrought a basket of corn tortilla chips, a small dish of semi-spicy salsa and a small bowl of semi-warm refried beand for dipping. My husband ordered their #31 combo platter ($10.95) and had a chicken taco, beef enchilada and a beef burrito. Spanish Rice, refried beans and a small green salad filled the platter. Judged as just "okay". I ordered the Los Dos Amigos ($13.95) which the menu said contained prawns, dungeons crab, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro cooked in garlic butter and a special salsa. It also came with refried beans, rice, and some lettuce topped with one avocado slice. I was disappointed with the quanity of the seafood. There were only 3 prawns, 1 sliced open crab leg and a ton of mushrooms. I was expecting something like a scampi garlic butter but the special salsa was a bit spicy. Service was only "okay" and the dining room was very loud with a few annoying, loud children. It took a long time to get our bill. read more

I never liked Mexican Food. Ever. But when I came to this place, all of that changed. Their salsa is delicious, as are the beans, and the chips come out nice and hot! If you ask for it, they will give you the extra spicy salsa that leaves your face red (but wow is it ever good! Why do I torture myself like this?). Their dishes are very good and the plates are hot, which keeps your meal nice and warm. If you don't like dry chicken, don't get a chicken dish. Other than that, this is a great place to go if you are craving Mexican Food. read more

Cinco De Mayo has always been my go-to for Mexican, but there have been a couple of mishaps with their service that have made me not want to give them my business anymore. This past weekend I called in a to-go order. They told me about 15 minutes until it would be ready, rarely has this been the case on my previous experiences so I always add an extra 10 minutes. I get to the restaurant and told them I had a to-go order and they asked what I had, I told them an order of enchiladas and a chimichanga. They looked at an order sitting there ready and said it wasnt mine and I would have to wait. I sat down and after another 15-20 minutes I was starting to get frustrated. They asked me what I ordered and I told them again and the guy looks at the order that has been sitting there the whole time and says "oh this is yours". I was worried it was going to be cold having sit there almost 35-40 minutes into this process and asked if I could have a discount, they told me no. When I got home not only was my order cold, soggy, and completely ruined, but it was wrong. Needless to say, I would not recommend Cinco De Mayo based on their service alone. we went to this restaurant and it was not good at all. I understand that during covid that many places and understaffed and are trying the best they can but this place was not good. We ordered food and drinks and most of the staff was very nice. the food was not good. the food was cold, the rice wasn't cooked and still crunchy and so much more. The food took also an hour 1/2 to get to us. i also got food poisoning from this place as well. My moms meat was bad and slimy. when we all realized our food wasn't good we didn't eat it. The woman came to our table and we asked for the check, when she noticed we didn't eat it she made a comment and offered a to go box. we politely said no thank you and told her the rice wasn't cooked and that we think the meat is bad she then told us that when they are understaffed the rice will be uncooked because they are trying to get the food out and then told us we were wrong and the meat was fine and then insisted we take to go boxes. My friend also ordered a drink and it wasn't made how she liked it and she only took one sip of it and apologized and said she would like to order something different. They took the drink away and at the end they insisted that we pay for it though she didn't drink it. i wouldn't come back here again. read more

Down the drain. This place used to be great a couple years ago before they attempted to expand. Construction has been going on for a year and still not completed. I took my wife in for a Sunday lunch at about 1:30. First thing I noticed is the owner and an a local construction contractor are outside looking at the building and the parking lot is PACKED. We walk in and there are no clean tables. So we wait. My wife goes to the bathroom. She says the door doesn't lock, no soap, disgusting, we should have left then. We sat down and the host brought some chips and salsa but we were never greeted by a server. It was chaos in there, people were looking around for their server. We got up and left and the owner was still outside talking to the contractor with another restaurant employee. If an owner won't go in and help a slammed crew, what can you expect. Cleanliness of the place as absolutely gone down the drain. read more

We stopped here just traveling through. The food was not good. The server brought out healthy portions of chips and salsa. The salsa had okay flavor but, it was extremely runny. They also brought refried beans. The service was slow but, adequate. All of the dishes we tried lacked flavor and were covered in Cheddar. The Enchiladas had no sauce, flavor, or spice. They were warmed tortillas with meat inside and covered with more cheese. Definitely not a place I would recommend eating. read more

Poor service and warm beer. Server questioned us that we were 21 even after looking at our license and asking our address, license number, and expiration date of our License.... who the hell remembers that!? After finally serving our beers, which were warm, we were never asked for another beer or even a water refill. Use to really like this place but after being treated like this by our server, who's also the owner, I will choose to eat at one of the other 4 or 5 Mexican Restaurants in LG. This place was previously unfamiliar to us. We were in town for a meeting and wanted lunch. Some places had few cars nearby but this had lots of cars parked next to it. The menu was extensive and had many familiar looking entrees. My wife chose nachos and found them just ok. I chose carne asada which is a dish I frequently order elsewhere. The beans were good, the rice ok, the flour tortillas seemed a little overcooked (inflexible), the "medium rare" beef was overcooked with a charred flavor, the guacamole ok, and the salad small and hidden by guacamole. The burgundy wine was fine. The prices seemed fair. The service was attentive. Indigestion continues but I should have avoided the jalapeño pepper on the plate. Food used to be ok, not so great now. Tacos have very little meat, pretty much only enough to eat half the shell. Chips and salsa are good, but if your planning on take-out they won't give you even enough salsa to put on your tacos. You'll only get a tiny, half full container and charge you extra for every extra half full container. La grandes restaurants continue to disappoint. read more

Unfortunately I have to give this place one star which I hate to do but they deserve it. The food was about a 2 1/2 to 3 stars but the Service brought it down to a one star. The waitress was very misleading regarding the up charges and I ended up getting charged four dollars more for my meal then it should have been. Kind of a bummer. read more

Terrible, the service was horrendous! She got our order completely wrong. He brought more chips but no salsa and beans, so what are we suppose to just eat plain chips while we wait for your screw up? How dumb can a person be? Second when our food finally came out, there was MOLD all over my green peppers white mold! I couldn't touch them, I started eating the rice and beans, long black hair woven in the beans and rice that taste like it was from a can. I about vomited. I use to love this place, how sad it has gone completely down hill. Someone call the health inspector.**** I would like to add that a little snatch face messaged me about this post, and let me clarify for you. I did send my food back, and I did demand a refund.
