Steakhouse at Cove, Review We left Joseph at 8:00 am for our 9:30 reservation. Best part of this experience was the 75 mile drive thru Lostine, Wallowa, Miniam canyon, beautiful day. We arrived on time at the Steakhouse at Cove restaurant for the advertised all you can eat Buffet. Our reservation was not recorded, but we were seated right away. The Hostess was pleasant. The restaurant was noticeably cold. Wide variety of breakfast items: I selected a small sample of each item, Bacon (cold and greasy), Ham (cold), Sausage ( cold and flavorless?), Scrambled Eggs (warm but mushy; obviously from a carton, Sink Scramble? (Sausage, cubed Potato and Egg, not tasty). French Toast, Pancakes, Waffles and Scones were dry and cold. The Biscuit was fresh, Gravy was very salty. As shown I didn't eat much of the above. I tried the pastry selection, Blue Berry Muffin, Chocolate covered Donut, some kind of Peanut Butter filled pastry and Homemade Sourdough Toast. Thank goodness for the Toast with some Smuckers Obviously we wont be back for the Buffet, maybe we will challenge the $50 Prime Rib.

Best steak I've had in years! Jen is a very talented chef, every aspect of the meal was thoughtfully counterbalanced to bring out the best flavors. the service is great, its not a "jacket required" kind of place even though the name sounds like it and the food is worthy of it. Best kept secret in northeastern Oregon!

Slow to acknowledge and seat us. Server was very friendly and the food was very good. Simple neighborhood decor.

The Phili and Asian burgers were excellent and the recommendation for the Irish Death Stout was very helpful and one of the best beers I have ever had and don't forget the fries which are also exceptional.

After checking out a few places online, we decided to head to Lattitude 45 Grille for dinner. Pulling up to the venue, you notice how updated and pretty the joint is. There are a couple tables outside and beautiful potted flowers in the front, it's quite welcoming. Walking in, we were instantly greeted. We got sat in a small room that had a couple tables. It was separated from the main dining area. I appreciate the room we were in cause it created more of a personnal environment for my friend and I. The room was bright and vibrant. I love the big windows, it gave us a great view. I did check out the menu online. I noticed they had lobster manicotti. I was sold! Pasta, lobster and sauce, you can't get better than that! We breezed through the menus again while our drinks were getting taken care of. As many times as I looked the menu over and over again, I couldn't find the lobster manicotti. The waitress confirmed that they didn't offer it anymore. Such a bummer cause it was the only thing that really caught my eye. For dinner I settled for the chicken fontana with the pesto sauce on the side. I also got alfredo as my side since it was an option. I like that they give you pasta options as a side besides your typical fries and salad. Our meals came out super hot. I got a beautiful piece of chicken and a nice portion of alfredo. I can tell the pasta was freshly made, I was pretty close to burning my mouth cause of hot it was. The sauce on the pasta was rich and creamy. I did add a little salt and pepper to it, it needed just a pinchmore salt. The chicken was flavorful! Whatever they used as a crust on the chicken, it was nice! I used some of the alfredo sauce to dip the chicken in. The chicken was good but it was also kinda dry and there wasn't much cheese in the middle. The alfredo sauce really was needed. Our sweet server got a piece of the peanut butter cheesecake for my friend's birthday. She also put a birthday candle on the cheesecake for her. Little gestures like that are the best. The cheesecake was delicious! It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. It had a good amount of chocolate on top. There were pieces roasted peanuts in the cheesecake that added a nice crunchy texture to it. It's a must have. Lattitude 45 was packed when we were leaving. Clearly they are doing something right. Service was great. The venue is beautiful. They produce good food. I'm happy we got to check this joint out and celebrate my friend's birthday here. I don't know when we will ever be back but if we are, we will definitely come back. And hopefully by then lobster manicotti will be on their menu!

I just loved this unique cafe from the moment I laid eyes on it, gobbling through the entire meal,…read more and especially enjoying the cheerful and funny service from the irrepressible Alicia!! The decor is fascinating. Part Old West kitsch, part small town charm. Memorials to local regulars who have passed create a special feeling in Cowboys and Angel's. Alicia is the daughter of the owners who cook and run the place with her help and a few other young folks. What a salesperson along with being a fantastic server. Alicia anticipates your needs before you even knew you had them. She put my husband's half-finished (delicious) choco shake into a little cup to go and brought a scissor to trim the straw to avoid poking one's eyes out! Hubs ordered the last homemade maple bar and Alicia warmed it up for him. Super fresh and so good!! I also couldn't help noticing the cinnamon buns the size of a tricycle wheel. To tempt me she gave me a mini size to sample. Don't tell my doctor. I'm not supposed to eat sugar, but that was gooooood! Also warmed up, btw. Moist and buttery cinnamon goodness. For main meals, I enjoyed the taco salad! What a winning combo of seasoned ground beef, fresh (not bagged) romaine lettuce, red onions, olives, avocados, salsa and sour cream on the side. No component was more prominent than any other. Even the sour cream was thick and rich. They fry the shells to order! A first for me and I have eaten many taco salads. Hubby had zero complaints about the cowboy breakfast with a huge ham steak, over easy eggs, hash browns and English muffin. See my pix and drool! Or better yet, when passing through Elgin on your way to Wallowa Lake and Joseph, have a meal and lots of fun with Alicia. We are likely stopping by again on our way home!

We really liked this place. It's a fun environment with good food and a very nice staff.read more
