A masterpiece on a soft but durable bun. I also bought a $5 pint of sausage "burnt ends" that I ate plain and mixed into a scrambled egg dish. The $8 whole smoked chicken was my wife and I's favorite chicken we've ever had. I'm sad that in Fritz's has been in operation 99 years and that I have never been in before this weekend. If you buy rotisserie chickens from the store, stop it and head to Fritz's.

It can get busy some mornings with people picking up, but I always see people getting helped fast, the line goes quickly. Pro tip: you don't have to be there right in the morning. Wait a couple hours and come in, you'll be fine. Year round, we're a fan of their breakfast burrito mix of meats- just cook it up with eggs and you have yourself a filling meal. Then there's the dog bones.... Altogether, this is a simple and unassuming place, a bit old fashioned, but very much solid.

We came here yesterday, and ended up leaving with a couple of ribeyes and some Wagyu beef bacon…read more The salesperson was friendly and informative, and even passed out some samples of their KC strip steak (which was SO juicy and tender). He explained that the steaks were rated BC10-BC40, based on the marbling of the meat. He also pointed out that you can see the individual percentages on the back of each steak. Interestingly enough, the steaks aren't really priced per pound, but instead by cut and percentage of marbling. We bought two BC10 ribeyes, which were about 13oz each, and cost $40. BC10 ranges from 10%-20% marbling, and ours were 17%. The BC40 ribeyes (40%+, similar to Japanese Wagyu) were priced at $90 each. Honestly, the ribeyes we got were some of the best steaks that my husband has ever grilled at home. I would love to try one of the higher-quality steaks sometime. Obviously, this steak isn't cheap, but considering American Wagyu of the exact same quality can be priced at $70+ at a fancy steakhouse, these are a good value. Great for a special occasion or if you want to treat yourself!

They have a cool grassy (fake) sitting area outside the indoor market. It was so hot last week, so the indoor option is excellent. They also had a couple of food trucks outside serving breakfast and lunch. They have live music and some seating at the market, but you could also bring chairs or a blanket.
