I have no idea why this place has such a bed rep, we found it delightful. We were just staying over on Saturday night, the office guy was great, put us in a room where there wouldn't be guests in either rooms to our side. Yes, there's theme rooms -- we were in The Wild Ones room, motorcycle themed! It was really fun, honestly. Bedroom was clean, bathroom was clean, bed comfy. BEWARE CINDERELLA MOTEL!! The lazy management would rather throw you out, than even admit that there is an issue in the room, even when presented with video evidence. I was staying for what would have been my third night, but when I tried to mention to the manager that the sink had a leak, I was told. "No it doesn't, you can't have a different room, either take this one or get out." when I tried to explain where the leak was, I was told "you're not a plumber" then when I got back to check back in for day 3 because they had to clean, she ended up putting me in a different room anyways, despite never admitting to any issue with the first room. Then just when I got settled into my new room, I went to use the sink to get some water for my dog, and that's when I found the sink was not only leaking as well, but now more severely than it was in my previous room. I took a video and brought it up to the manager, simply so that she would know it was leaking water on the floor, I didn't want her to think it was me. I was polite and curtious when I approached and showed her this video. She looked at it for 2 seconds, and then become highly aggressive. "YOU'RE NOTHING BUT TROUBLE, TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GET OUT" I was honestly shook by this because I was completely calm and didn't raise my voice at her whatsoever... I tried to reason with her, I told her that I wasn't trying to cause an issue, or asking for a change of room or anything, I simply wanted to make her aware, so that she knew it was leaking water on the floor. She continued to yell at me, despite me remaining completely calm. She then tells me "GIVE ME MY KEY AND GET OUT OR I'M CALLING THE COPS." then she calls up the cops... at this point I was so confused I just gave up, and i packed my room back up, and left. After I returned the key, and got my money back, I requested to have the information to contact the owner, because I wanted to let them know what happened here, she outright refused to provide me their info, or even a business card. I told her that I would get the contact info one way or another regardless, and she egged me on saying "DO YOUR JOB THAN" I asked her if she didn't want to give me their info because she knew that she would get in trouble and she replied "OH YEAH I'M SHAKING IN MY BOOTS." I was prior to this incident a loyal and returning guest of Cinderella, having stayed successfully multiple times without any issue. As a result of this one woman, I will likely never return to this establishment, and I will make sure to tell everyone that I can about what type of operation they are running behind those dilapidated, shiesty doors. read more

Horrible horrible woman in the 'lobby'. The name if the establishment is misleading. Don't expect a fairy tale. The "towels" and "facecloth" we got to use in the room (no bath tub, dirty shower with substantial amount of human hair in the drain) were so worn out you could see through them. The dingy facecloth was frayed all around and when it was checkout time, what I can imagine was just her being upset at having to give me back my sixty dollars deposit in the room, (whilst inspecting the room she makes a point to try and demean you and implies she thinks low of you and she has to see what you've done bad in her cruddy, dirty motel room ..she fully RAISED her voice at me... Upset I used the face cloth to remove my makeup the night before. She said the towel was not to wipe off makeup with. I must have missed that in the pamphlet where the rules were listed. I said I didn't know where else I could find anything to wash my face off with and she again said "Yeah. Hm. Well. It's not for that." Whatever lady. The place has so much potential with the name alone. Instead I felt uncomfortable the entire time. Even walking in before I opened the door she made a point to make me feel like I was a pain in the a$$. They don't sweep mop or vacuum the floor from what I can tell, either. What a completely awful and disgusting experience. First, the older woman and owner who checked me in was unbelievably rude. When I called to see how early I could get in, she said to come at 1:00. Great. When I got there and said I had a reservation, she yelled at me for showing up early and told me to wait until she was ready. Ten minutes later, she had checked in two other people who had arrived after me. Once I was in my room, which was at 51 degrees (I checked), I called and asked how to turn the heat on. She couldn't believe I would ask such a thing and told me the heat was turned off. She immediately said that if I didn't like it that I could go somewhere else. After a pause where she didn't say anything more, I sighed and hung up the phone. One minute later, she was pounding on my door and yelling at me for being rude. Huh? She said I hung up on her and should probably leave. I said no because I had a sleeping bag in the car and knew I could stay warm if I used that and wore a wool cap at night. (Which I had to.) And then she saw I had a small fan next to the bed, which I use for white noise. She started yelling at me for having a fan saying that not only was it not allowed to have fans in the room (huh?), but that if I was so cold, why would I run a fan. At this point, I knew there was something seriously wrong going on. Nonetheless, I was worn out and tired and decided to stick it out. The room itself was a joke. The walls were paper-thin, and I could hear my neighbors talking, their water running, the TV--everything. On the back side of the building is a run-down trailer with a constantly barking pit bull and a guy who yelled and swore and smoked his cigars all evening. And of course, the bathroom window didn't shut all of the way, so I could hear all of that, along with smelling cigar smoke until he finally went inside around 10pm. The mattress was lumpy where the springs poked up, making for a miserable night's sleep, and the room was filthy on top of that. Please, NEVER stay here! I have stayed in countless hotels all over the world without one unpleasant encounter with staff. Until... The manager (I guess) seemed angry as I checked in. I tried smiling and joking, to no effect. I booked two nights, looking forward to sleeping in. I put out the Do Not Disturb sign. In the morning, the manager and another woman pounded on the door. They insisted on inspecting the room. Nothing was amiss, but she kicked me out anyway. She made a reference to a joke that I had made earlier. She had taken it wrong. Nope. Nope. Nope. Never again. We come to Hollister EVERY year since I was a child. We usually go to Wiebe motel and have a wonderful visit. We were short on cash and decided to stay here since it was cheaper. My parents rented one room and I rented another. We had such an awful time we will never stay here again. These are photos of hotel room #4. Outlets were over used and broken. There was MOLD under the sink, very bad for being a severe asthmatic. The floors were FILTHY. I took a shower and walked around, by the time I was ready for bed I had to wash my feet they were so gross. The beds were filthy. I woke up with bug bites of some kind. The front desks dogs bark bright and early at 9 am. Our mirror was broken which was a hazard. Also the TV service was interrupted ever 5 minutes with an error message.Phone did NOT work, what if there was an emergency? Shower head was broken and sprayed everywhere. Now besides the absolute disastrous conditions of the hotel rooms but the treatment by management takes the cake. My mother who is an older women was showering when all of a sudden the power goes out. My mom panicked and was frightened. She reached for a towel only to realize there were no towels set for their room. She used a body rag to dry up. By the time she reached the front she was frustrated. The owner BLAMED my mother for the power going out because my mom had "too much plugged in". She then refused to give my mother more towels and pretty much hate glared us the rest of our stay. I forgot my electronic cig in my room and when I called to ask if they had it she yelled at me again. Seriously, DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

This place is deceptive...looks clean and well kept. Don't stay here! It's not worth the $76.50 at all. The front office/reception area had not been cleaned in a good ten years, and is just creepy with all the neglected dolls and Disney artifacts. Room is nasty, not clean, we used our own blankets because we were not sure they were recently washed. The bathroom was fairly clean, but the water is questionable, and definitely not drinkable with the whit cloudiness that is clearly visible in a glass. I'm so surprised this place is still open. I'm speechless at the lack of any sort of 911 instructions or provisions in the room phone, not to mention a dial tone! read more

Hmmmmmm... It wasn't a bad experience...but it was a weird one. If you need to power anything up with a 3-prong cord. Forget about it if you don't have a converter. Want to wash and dry your hair? Give yourself plenty of time ... No blow drier and if the one you packed has a grounded plug - you won't be able to use it. Went to the office at 8:30 a m to get an iron and ironing board. The door is locked. Really?? The walls are paper thin. My neighbor was a very energetic snorer. I got to hear every inhale and exhale. I stayed here just because I like to try out and support non-chain and locally owned hotels from time-to-time. I feel like I've done my part for the local economy. Never again! As far as cheap motels go, this was adequate. We're traveling from Washington and planned to camp along the way, but after some ridiculous circumstances along the days traveling, we ended up in Hollister wanting to avoid the 45 min drive to our crappy campsite. Found this place online an decided to give it a try since we were looking for some place cheap since it would be for one night. We paid $70, and 5 of us (2 adults and three young kids) plus our dog stayed here. Pet friendly. The room was lovingly tacky (we stayed in the Down on the Farm room). We had zero issues with the lady who runs the joint...she even came running out after us when my oldest daughter left her stuffed animal behind. All in all, as far as cheap motels go, it was just fine. It wasn't spotless and to be honest, I was a little sketched out by the sheets, but whatever. We got a good shower and a bed to sleep in. Would I stay here again? Totally. Just so I can see the other rooms. Theme hotels are amazing. read more

This has got to be the worst motel in Ca. I made reservations last week for two nights. Told them it was for two people and one 11 pound, 8 in SERVICE DOG. When I was checking in the office was locked. It was 1:30 PM. I rang the bell and after a long wait, the office person showed up. She was rude. As if SHE was doing me a favor. She kept asking what kind of dog. I kept telling her she was a SERVICE DOG. After arguing with her, she says STAY SOMEWHERE else. We are. A very nice motel about a mile down the street. The BAYMOUNT INN & SUITES. Better motel, free breakfast in the morning, free coffee and juice all day. Clean room, friendly staff. Less than two miles from where I need to be at 8:00 in the morning. I've worked in Customer Service/retail for almost four years now and the "manager" seems to have not learned a thing about being in the hospitality business. It's like she follows the United Airlines method of booting people off planes, only instead, its booting customers out of their rooms for no good reason within five minutes of arrival (not to mention yelling at us outside and making a huge scene for everyone else nearby to watch). But maybe it was for the better...this was one of the shadiest motels I'd ever seen. Do yourself a favor and don't bother even pulling into the driveway. Just to welcome us. she was not going to stay very long. The owner saw her and started yelling literally yelling. That we couldn't have visitors and that they had to leave. We asked her to relax and she was just ou of control. She even treated to call the cops and give us our money back. This is really a cute little motel thats so adorable,and yea the management can be a little strict at time but thats for a reason I talked to her for a little bit and found out she had a bad liability case that she ended up winning due to cameras about 7 years ago so theres a reason why she's so strict.But other than the strict rules I really do love this hotel for lots of reasons,the first reason being the super cute unique rooms that dont feel like a hotel at all,I felt like I was at disney land instead lol I wish I had bought my camera.Each room has a theme and mine was "In the pines" and everything was a camping type thing in the room like lantern lights and checkered lamps wood walls,it really was pretty.Also they have a pool AND hbo cable and different little patios outside and Ac that seems great to me and for such a a great price,$49 for one person you cant beat it,If I ever had to stay at a hotel in Hollister I would definantly be coming back here:) And also some of the themes include Victorian,In the library,and The wild ones room I just couldnt get over that lol read more

Stayed at this motel because I had to attend a wedding and it was one of the closest motels. Turns out to be one of the worst decisions I made in a while. The lady working at the front claimed that she hated motel guests that stayed because of weddings. That did not sound very welcoming...well, the experience gets even worst after we get a call to the room with the lady saying the sheriff would be called after one warning about noise from our room at 10:30 at night! Sorry that we didn't know the window to the room was open before we got in! Quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with. Since each room is a theme room, stuff like sheets and blankets are made to match each room. The problem with that is you get the same mickey mouse blanket in the disney room night after night year after year for YEARS. With the same sheets to boot. My friend and I mistakenly booked only one night at the Best Western, returning to our room to find our possessions in bags in the office. Cinderella Motel just down the street took us in. It is a sort of weirdly constructed place, but it was OK. I enjoyed talking with the owner. I liked that she had tried to make a poor-man's Madonna Inn out of it, since the real one is prohibitively expensive. However it is very close to downtown and other vagrant activities, so expect some shady activity even if it's just bums walking through the parking lot. She actually told me it was stupid of me to ask and hung up on me. The next day i called asking for the owner and she hung up on me again lol. Obviously she does not own the business or she would have a clue about customer service. Then she said I couldn't go in the room with him to just look at it. She also said when his sister brought his suitcase out she couldn't take it to his room. And this was not in a friendly tone. We have stayed at the Cinderella for a night every summer 4 years now. Always been a group of 4 to 10 on motorcycles. The owner has always been too friendly to us ,of course we don't act like jaqueazzes. The price is right, location is great (short walk to Paines Restaurant) and it is definitely 'live and left live' among the guests. Pool is always perfect. Since last summer all the rooms have been refurbished and are very nice. Keep in mind that it is an inexpensive motel, it's not the Ritz Carlton. But you do a get a little more than you pay for because the "Theme Rooms" are a kick. If your with a group of riders this is the place to stay, just be courteous and 'roll in' if its after dark. read more

We stayed at this motel because my friend had stayed here before, without incident, but this was the worst experience either one of us have ever had!!!! Upon check-in, the clerk/manager was not very friendly, but we chalked this up to her having a bad day....apparently this is the only kind of day she is capable of having!!! We were extremely quiet and were asleep by 9:00pm. When we awoke at 10:40 am the next morning, we attempted to call the front desk to extend our stay for another night, but no one answered the phone. We got up and were getting dressed to go down to pay for the next night, but at 11:10 am the manager began beating on our door, screeching at us about the 11:00 am check-out time. I explained that we attempted to call and have the room billed to our credit card for another night, but she screamed even louder! My friend walked to the office to pay, and she threatened to call the police on him. He returned to the room to pack so we could leave and she followed him into the room and threatened to throw our belongings into the parking lot!!!! Cinderella?....more like The Wicked Stepmother!!!....we will never stay at this hell-hole again!!!.....the Hollister Inn, however, was amazing!!! I have never been so insulted by someone in the service industry before in my life. That woman behind the desk is atrocious and has absolutely no interpersonal skills. She interrupted and talked over me constantly, they are pet friendly unless your service dog has any pit bull in it at all even with the training they recieve, I got a room for two but had my son with me before I dropped him off with his gramma so just my boyfriend dog and I could enjoy the room and before I even got anything out of the car she was calling to tell me I had only said two guests to which I replied I know and that my son wasn't staying and she got upset and started going off on me (mind you we'd been there for under 5 minutes), when I told her I wanted a refund she said she had to come inspect the room before she'd refund the money (again, under 5 minutes), and when I asked about my deposit for the non smoking room (something I've never experienced before) she made rude comments and said "it's in your hand". I'm incredibly upset and urge no one to go to that place. We're in town for a funeral and were treated terribly for no reason. On top of all of that, "lady" the woman behind the counter, looked my car through and through while I dug aground in my purse for the non smoking room deposit that she forgot to get from me before she gave me the key.
