I went for a full body scan at the location in Yorktown, I was seen by one of the male NP. The whole exam took less than 10 minutes from start to finish. He quickly looked over my birth marks and said everything looked fine. He did not use a light, magnifying glass, or measure any of my birth/beauty marks. I was then into reception and told to come back next year for another appointment. How would the doctor know if there were any changes in size or look of these marks without any record/documentation of what they previously looked like? After she and the front desk assured me many times (even got them on the phone with my insurance) that there would be no surprise bills from a biopsy I felt was likely unnecessary, I nonetheless received surprise bills. What's more, they never even called to deliver me the results. I'm pretty sure I got suckered into an unnecessary procedure for profit. Very unprofessional and lacking in integrity. I spoke with the receptionist on the phone who was super rude and was cussing on the phone towards me, and sounded like she was yelling at her child. She was so unprofessional that I will never go to Dr. Hoffman for any services. They really need to re-evaluate who they hire before they drive more business away. read more

Dr. Hoffman and her staff are amazing. They take time to talk to you about everything. I been to both locations and both locations are filled with such happy and accommodating people. I did PDT and my results are amazing. Dr. Hoffman didn't like how my chest came out the first time so she did the procedure for the second time. So far so good. Every interaction I had with her and her team....from the receptionists and nurses to the other doctors and surgeons was professional, personal and reassuring. I can reiterate what others have said in their poor reviews of Dr Cindy Hoffman and her staff. She is not a poor dermatologist per se, but she is very rigid in her approach and her administrative staff is sloppy. In my case, both doctor and staff at my last appointment neglected to tell me that I would need bloodwork in order to get my next refill. They informed me of this only once I had run out of meds, which happened one month later. Like wouldn't this have been good info to have since I had a whole month to do bloodwork? Remarkably, this office does not draw blood on site, so I had to go to an outside lab, which again was a very big hassle. I also had to call the doctor's office multiple times to get them to call in the lab order. It can be very difficult to get through to a human, so look forward to leaving multiple voicemails which the staff then says it did not receive. When my bloodwork results were faxed to the doctor, she still did not call in the refill. So I called the office yet again, left a voicemail, but got no return call, and still no refill at the pharmacy. I then called again a whole week later, receptionist again alleged she had received no message and said that she had no bloodwork. Lab in the meantime had a confirmation report that results were faxed in 12 days earlier. Plus the doctor's office is able to log in for results, but no one ever bothered. It took me ONE MONTH of this protracted hassle to get a simple refill. Of a simple antibiotic. Do you have time for all this in your life? When your time is at a premium? When finally I reached the office and read them the riot act, a new hire there hung up on me, after calling me disrespectful. PS, just in case it's not obvious, you have to respect patients and actually do your job if you expect "respectful", happy patients. I will never again go back to this doctor (Hyde Park location). The patient service is truly awful. I suggest you go someplace else if sick, unless you want to reach voicemail. read more

Although the patient care I received over the 5-plus years I went to Dr. Hoffman was satisfactory (not outstanding), the whole experience become soured when I requested my medical records. I thought I would be entitled to get a copy (I certainly paid for all the visits!), but ended up having to pay 75 cents PER PAGE for a copy. Despite my protests, they were inflexible about this policy. What a rip-off. A reasonably nominal amount might have been acceptable - this was not!!! read more

There was above average wait time, but nothing too terrible. The doctor did not seem very knowledgable on basic dermatological services. In addition, I don't feel that they clean very well. The floors and walls of the medical room were dirty and there were bottles of liquids on the counter with no caps on. read more

I am a regular patient of this office. I recently had a MOHS procedure after a mole was removed. The biopsy showed a basal cell carcinoma. Needless to say, I was very worried. Dr.. Hoffman and her staff were beyond wonderful. When I arrived at the Carmel office, I was treated with kindness and respect . I can't say enough about the receptionist, surgeons, assistants and nurses. We had been going here for wart treatment for my two boys. We spent many visits. We were given the same treatment over and over. She was very rigid and not warm and caring - should not be dealing with children. We had tons of co-payments. This was not a huge deal-they were warts- not plastic surgery. They were given "junk" toys- girl plastic crap to "help" them feel better. Finally, they tried other treatments-decided to inject- my son's finger completely blew up. He was so little and very scared. We stopped going and were extremely frustrated- we kept getting bills and they way they billed were outrageous- we ended up paying hundreds of dollars out of pocket- insane- for warts really? We ended up going to a new doctor and within one treatment- both of our boys were completely better. I would NOT recommend at all :(- especially not for children :( read more

Doctor extremely rude. I think she just wants to work on beautiful people because she looked like she was going to throw up when she saw stretch marks. She also said my rash was 'nothing' and then ordered a very high powered steroidal foam for it. So, rude and doesn't know what she's doing. Really, really not recommended!!! read more
