I visited here on my vacation from NC. The staff was very helpful! Bathing suit shopping can be a bit uncomfortable for me and these ladies made me feel like family. I recommend this place to anyone visiting the San Diego/Carlsbad/Vista area. Lol. This place is eclectic. They really do have a swim suit for everyone and the owner is energetic and fun. The set up is a little chaotic, there is stuff EVERYWHERE. But we were able to find 2 cute suits! And they're open during the off season which is clutch!! read more

Call before heading to this store!! I always bought my swim suits at the store in San Clemente. As that store closed I decided to shop at the Carlsbad store. I got there at 4:02, the store was closed (normal closing time 6pm) and there was a small sign that said back in 5 mins. I waited 20 minutes and no one returned. Plus I had to pay $6 for parking. Very disappointed. There was another sign stating they will give you a private appointment and close the store to others. Another reason to call ahead. read more

Super expensive little boutique in the heart of Carlsbad Village. I needed a one piece swimsuit for work and their selection was very limited. The employee was friendly enough but seemed put off that I questioned the prices. I'm pretty sure a bathing suit doesn't need to be $182.00. I hate to have to write this review, but this absolutely was the worst retail experience of my entire life! First of all when I entered the store The owner's daughter was behind the counter, and the owners dog was tied to a very long leash, and I almost tripped over it, not realizing that there was a dog at the other end then, while I was trying on the swimsuits, the dog threw up and in addition to that there was a big plate of chicken left out for the dog right by the dressing room ... This should've been my sign to just leave the store but instead I went ahead and gave them business for some reason which I completely regret ...I've been spending money in this place for years and decided to go there a few days ago to buy some pieces for an upcoming trip. I bought a dress and a bikini, got home with it and decided it just wasn't quite right The owner Cynthia refused to give my money back even though there was nothing in the store that I liked or would fit me... In addition, she refused to order anything unless it was paid for in advance...I'm never ever shopping in this place the owner is the most rude person I have ever encountered in my life.. read more

People working there are helpful; however, they are lying through their teeth. I bought my wife a bottom, a top and a shawl. She was there with me. Spent $213. As we left, we went to the restaurant next door. The moment we sat down, she told me "I would rather return the top, I have another one and I am not gonna need it". She gets up from where we were sitting and went next door to Cindy's to return it. She came back minutes later telling me they would not give her a refund because it is "a state law that swimsuits cannot be returned and they would give her store credit only because they were being kind and they even did not have to do that". This is pure BS as there is no such law and instead of making a scene there she will keep the top but will never go back. This is bad business practice and I guess they have no idea what customer service is. read more

This is the ABSOLUTE best place to buy a swimsuit or beach wear! Hands down, the only place I will go to buy a swimsuit. I've been going there for prob 15 years and the owner, Cindy, is incredibly helpful and knows exactly the right swimsuit for your body type. She is honest about what is going to flatter your "assets" the most and cover up the ones you aren't so wild about. :) And I've never found her to be wrong - she's always dead on when she pulls a suit for you. She has a gift for it as does her daughter and every person she meticulously trains. They carry something for everyone and have the cutest trendiest bikinis as well as gorgeous and stylish one pieces. Prices are good as well and very reasonable. I especially like that you can buy tops & bottoms separately. If you can, make an appt to see Cindy or just pop in. You won't be sorry. It's like concierge service swimsuit shopping. read more

Nice little swim suit shop for women. Yes, I'm a man, but my wife and 3 daughters don't have Yelp, and they all bought something. Martha, was very helpful in color and style selection. Personally, I found her very nice as well, as she continued to have conversation with me as well. She wasn't about the sale(s). She was confident in her selection. We looked around the rest of Carlsbad, and she said we'd be back... and we did return to make the purchases. I grew up in Carlsbad and on a recent visit back home, I stopped in to check out bathing suits. I was with my three small children - who were all well behaved. The saleslady was friendly, not pushy or anything. I told her I might be interested in a new suit, however I am still breastfeeding so wasn't sure it was the best time. She nevertheless found me a good top to try on. I went into the dressing room and gave it a whirl. It was ok - but it gapped under the armpit area, so I decided to pass. I am not going to spend $100 on a bathing suit top (yes, just the top), and not have it fit like a glove. When I was done, we (me & sales person) could't find the little clip that makes the top become a racerback...so we start looking everywhere. This is where my review stops being a good one. All of the sudden the phone rings. The sales person never says who it is, but begins talking about how we are just looking for the clip, how I don't want the top bc it has a gap...and on and on and on. About me. Presumable the owner had been watching me on a live video recording and called to see what was going on. I was/am beyond freaked out by this! This blows my mind for so many reasons, first of all being privacy when I am changing my clothes in their dressing room. Needless to say, I didn't buy anything. And while on the phone with the owner(?), the sales person began to try to do a hard sell on me - which also upsets me. The top didn't fit. No, I am not buying it. I agree with the 7/13/11 review 100%! I had a wonderful experience at Cindy's & had similar parameters as the last reviewer. I wanted a solid color suit that was not made for juniors, but not matronly. The sales person knew exactly what I was looking for & gave me a number of options that fit the bill (but not too many). I usually have to try on 10 different bottoms before I find one that works. I went with the first bottom I tried & the 2nd top. I tried on others, but the sales person's initial recommendations were spot on. She knew her inventory & was able to quickly match my body type & parameters up accordingly. In regard to pricing... the suits are a little on the pricey side & the only sale suits were patterned (no solids on sale). For what I spent on my new suit I've bought 3 cheaper, somewhat ill-fitting suits, without fitting advice since last summer. I would MUCH rather have one perfect suit than multiple so-so ones. I am very happy with my purchase! So when the sales person asks if you need assistance, say YES! read more

good selection, good lighting in the dressing room, prices expensive. The problem for me was the owner. She and 3 employees where working the shop. The owner persisted to nitpick every move the employees made the entire time I was in the shop. It was in no way constructive and seemed like the norm. It was uncomfortable for me and demeaning for the employees. While in the dressing room I asked if they had one of the suits in a picture on the wall, she told me they had the suit but, that it would not work for my body. Today I took my wife to pick out a new swim suit for a Maui trip we are headed to. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a very warm hello by Lola. As my wife shopped I just hung out and looked around. The suits are pricey but the quality is top notch. Lola helped my wife try on many suits, calling her by name and gave her a wonderful shopping experience. I thought for sure Lola was the owner considering the ownership she was taking.
