As someone from Miami I'm always missing it, and this is the perfect to come when I'm missing Miami. From the colors, the music, the staff it's perfect. It's well kept and airy. Wow this place is a perfect balance of simple and cheap yet so tasty. It's got a great atmosphere in the cafe and a super nice staff that is very helpful. I came here for breakfast and got the omelette with Turkey, Spinach, Sweet Plantains and Swiss cheese as well as a cafe con leche. I've had better Cafe Con Leche before, but it was still very very good here. The omelette was amazing, I had never had sweet plantains in an omelette before and they were so incredibly sweet and flavorful. I also tried the oatmeal and it was amazing for oatmeal. I don't know if they make the hot sauce in house or anything but even that was great. I was so excited to be off on a weekday to try this place! The service was excellent and once my friend arrived we ordered at the counter and found a seat. The coffee and food were made fresh and the decor was simple but cute. The inside had a few tables, and since it was raining no one was outside. It was a quiet, homey spot in the middle of downtown. I really enjoyed the flavors of my food and having delicious Cuban coffee and Cuban bread. The All In was a nice portion with a little bit of everything. The coffee was sweet without being too sweet. I highly recommend Cindy's! I have had many Cuban sandwiches in Central Florida and these are the best! The pork is amazing as is the ham. Great pickles and the bread is so so good. Great service and Cindy is awesome. They are only open Monday through Friday but man the food is great as well as the at home feel. Don't forget the Cuban coffee. It's the real deal! So glad I had a chance to try this place. I had bookmarked it and a doctor's appointment across the street gave me a chance to stop by without dealing with parking (which is free at the hospital lot a block away or on the street). I purchased a bocadillo, medianiche, 2 types of croquettes and two rice/yuca balls with meat. They were able to accommodate my butter sensitivity which was great. I got everything to go and we loved it all. The subs were large and we had leftovers. The fried items were still warm and delicious after a 30 min trip (I do have an ice less 'cooler' which helps keep items warm or cold). It's a super cute, yet unassuming, place with an excellent menu, really delicious food and incredibly nice people. Had a regular Cuban pressed. Very good. Yellow rice was fresh and soft and black beans were good. Plantains were very good. Only thing that could make it better? I usually like to call in my order for breakfast on the way in to work, and it may be ideal to call in for lunch as well, especially during peak time. It can get pretty crowded. It is a small café with a nice patio to eat outside as well. Cindy and her staff are always friendly and pleasant. The food is normally pretty good. I did have baked chicken that had a bit too much salt, but nothing to complain about other than that. My go-to is a breakfast sandwich with turkey, egg, and provolone on Cuban bread. Gotta show this place some love because I have been a customer since they were on Virginia Ave. The staff is all welcoming and friendly, the food is excellent and the cafe con leche is on point. I love the homestyle cooking that Cindy's offers. Growing up, my front door neighbors were Cuban and spoiled me with the best home cooking and Cindy's really reminds me of that. They offer the usual Cuban fare: rice, beans, pernil pork, rotisserie chicken, plantains, picadillo, cuban sandwiches, quesitos, coffee, etc. - it just all feels like your abuelita made it. The space can seat about 20 or so people and the patio can fit about 10 more people. Parking is located directly in the back but can only accommodate a few cars at a time. It looks like there's a lot a little further behind the building but I usually have luck behind the restaurant. Be careful when pulling in since there's a narrow one-car strip of pavement that leads to the back. There are also usually pedestrians/nurses/doctors from the nearby hospital walking on the sidewalk that crosses the restaurant as well so be sure to watch out for them. If you're at the Florida Hospital and want something other than the hospital food or Panera, go and support Cindy's Cafe, I think you'll really enjoy their food :) read more

My second venture into lunch here, both times I got the same meal and both times I was really nicely filled up with the amount of food served. Ordered the pernil with yellow rice, black beans, ripened and sweet plantains and a side salad. $9.5. Today I also got a quesito (pastry made of sugared cream cheese) $1.50 The beans had just the right amount of sauce which coated the rice when I poured them over. The pernil was not dry which is a plus, though I would've liked a bit more seasoning on it, personal preference. The side salad was crisp and fresh. 4 Stars for delicious Cuban food at a great price! I had previously been to Cindy's Tropical Cafe (the former iteration of this business which was located on Virginia Dr) and wasn't super impressed by it but this was a huge improvement from the location, to the interior atmosphere, and the service! I ordered the $5.99 lunch special- Half cuban sandwich with rice and beans - and sat outside because the weather was great. Shortly after we sat down the woman that had taken our order at the counter came out with cushions for us! Heck yeah! Love that special touch to make sure your guests are comfy! The half cuban was itself cut in the typical triangle half slices, which I liked (versus one large half slice, this way I had two halves of the half). I really enjoyed the portion and had just enough room left for some of the black beans. The beans were really tasty and didn't give the impression that they were straight out of the can (unlike some other places I've been). I also got a few bites of my compadre's fried sweet plantain side order (which was HUGE, btw) and they were perfectly cooked where the edges are dark and caramelized but the center is still soft and juicy. My one concern for them is that parking is a bit of an issue. I looped around the block a few times looking for a lot to park in (there's no on-street parking), but all of them were for other businesses and had tow away warnings. finally we realized that there was a driveway along side of Cindy's. It looked like only about 6 cars could fit- which is not terrible. I imagine most of their customers will be coming from Health Village and will be walking. To sum it up - Cindy has a new fan! Came to Cindy's Café in between meetings at work and they definitely didn't disappoint. Not only is Cindy's convenient if you're working or visiting the Orlando South campus but the food is fresh and the service is speedy. While the inside may be small the aura gives your a familiar setting to that of a Spanish family. I really enjoyed the ham croquettes and my eggs were cooked just the way I like them. The coffee was a requirement because I love the boost Cuban coffee gives me and it did just that. The fact they have both indoor and outdoor seating is a plus for those not too humid days!
