I sort of don't wanna tell people about this place because it's so amazing. When you first walk in, you are overwhelmed at the dresses that seemingly represent no order whatsoever. But when assisted by Cindy, she can pull out the perfect dresses for you which again fit so perfectly that it's amazing. I've already been to Cindy store once and decided to try it again because I had such a good experience the first time. The second time the star was much more crowded. Which means people are catching on to Cindy's amazing shop. It was a very friendly atmosphere. This place is AMAZING! My dress for a gala event came the day of and they sent me the wrong size! I had to find somewhere with a large selection and an affordable price point, and I found Cindy's in my research and it was AMAZING. Don't let the negative reviews on here fool you, those people do not know what they were talking about and they clearly went in without an appointment. I would recommend making an appointment with Cindy beforehand, as the rest of her staff is very nice, but she is magical! She literally knew what would work best on my body and found it for me in my size and it was perfect! Also, the price point was incredible! I paid like $150 for my dress and all of the dresses I tried on were in that range of $140-$200, which is a stealllll for high quality, formal wear! Cindy's was our first and last stop to find my daughter a prom dress! We did not make an appointment, so signed in, and started looking. Our sales associate was very helpful and friendly. There is a limit to the number of dresses you can try on without an appointment which seemed reasonable. My daughter found the perfect dress for a reasonable price (it's beautiful!) and as a bonus I tried on and bought a dress for a formal event I have coming up. They particularly have a wide range of long formal dresses (for prom - mostly - through more adult/mother of the bride styles) and quincenera styles. All gorgeous. This is truly the best place to shop for a prom dress (or any formal gown) in Los Angeles County. Here is why: 1. The dresses in this store are high quality, well-constructed, made with fine fabrics, better quality zippers, etc - much better quality than what you'll find in a Windsor Fashions or Lulus. 2. For the quality, the dresses are very affordable (ie: all of the floor length dresses we considered were between $150-$200). 3. The selection is fantastic -- many sizes, long and short dresses, a huge selection of colors, and a variety of styles that flatter many different body types. 4. The store is well-run! Cindy has an excellent system for customers to view the dresses, choose dresses, and try them on. All the dresses are protected under plastic, and customers don't touch the dresses until it is brought to them in the dressing room. This is similar to how bridal studios work. It keeps all of the dresses clean and free of snags. It also prioritizes customers who are serious about buying a dress. 5. The dresses are on-trend. Sometimes, higher-end dress shops skew older/ more matronly. This is not the case at Cindy's. My 16 year old daughter was thrilled to see that Cindy carries all the most popular styles. 6. What a dress shop! Cindy's is great. Amazing selections. The price point is honestly the best we've seen. I've been to many dress shops in the recent months... many weddings to go to so much needed dress shopping. Anyways, I have seen a lot of these dresses in other stores... brands like Cinderella Divine get marked up tremendously. Cindy's prices are less expensive then the shop next door, the shops downtown, even some retailers online. I really appreciate that her pricing is fair. She has a ton of selections!!! You can usually have Cindy order a dress for you if you see a style you like. We ordered a dress that came within two weeks of it being ordered and Cindy quoted the exact date that it would be ready. That was impressive!!! The shop is small but there are so many dresses in here. Way better than David's Bridal or any dress shop around town. This is the Go-To shop!!! I am so glad we found them. Cindy and Gail are so kind... they really know their stuff! They are on it when it comes to guessing your measurements and they're so helpful when you're in the process of trying things on. The only thing is... we have picked up a dress here before and the gentleman working there didn't seem to have tailoring recommendations. Cindy said anyone in the shop would have them. He didn't know. That's okay though... also he said when we came to pick up the ordered dress that if we wanted to try it on, we would have had to make an appt. That was kinda weird too. DO NOT SHOP HERE! This place is very unprofessional! The employees who work here just talk to their customers any kind of way, especially when they made mistakes! We had order two dresses, some tuxs, and shoes for a quince. Problem number 1 they don't have a return policy for if the dresses don't fix soo they said we could have them fixed for a lower price of $30, upon getting there and seeing that the dresses didn't fit, we were told we had to pay $150 for the dresses to be fixed, the woman who works there who told us about the dresses was very condescending, rude, and disrespectful calling my step mom dumb and yelling very loudly, mind you my step mom had her kids with her. After that we got our tux's, all of our tuxs was suppose to have a vest as we paid for them !!! One of the tux didn't have one and when we complained about it again the woman employee was very rude and belittling like we made the mistake, and was telling us we just needed to take the tux's without the vest! Why would we do that when we paid for the tux's to have the vest! The shoes we order the laces didn't match that was another issues they had! For some reason this store makes mistakes and tries to act like it's the customers fault they are very rude and not professional one bit we will never come back here and spend our money with them ! And then as we were leaving another customer came to ask for a price on dresses and we watched her be rude with that person as well ! read more

Placed an order online for my prom dress and since my prom is tomorrow I got priority shipping so that the dress would make it on time . After days went by without receiving a shipping number I emailed the store and got no response. I decided to email again a few days later and got the same result. I've emailed, messaged on Instagram, and called the store multiple times and never got a response. When I called the store and asked for a manager the employee didn't respond and just hung up in my face, when I called back they said the manager wasn't there and they didn't know when the manager would be back or if anyone checks the email. Two weeks later and still no response from anybody or even a shipping number after I paid extra money for priority shipping. I had to rush and go elsewhere to find a prom dress after this horrible experience which is very stressful. After spending hundreds of dollars and not getting a product this is the worse experience I've ever had. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. The staff will impose their likes on you and not take yours into account. They got the measurements wrong and kept delaying the delivery for days. When we came for the suit it didn't fit, the material was cheap and worn as if they just randomly picked it out of their rentals. They said they could fix it but we would have to wait even longer. Eventually we got tired and left with the terrible suit because they couldn't give us a simple refund all we got was excuses. We paid too much for nothing. Cindy's Formal Wear Store gave me a bad experience. I went in to buy a dress I ordered it then had some alterations on it, they said it would be ready Thursday of the following week. Then I had to call in Thursday to ask if it was ready. The man that answered said he would call me later on that day, HE NEVER CALLED. Then Friday I had to call again. The same man answered and said my dress had still not arrived. I repeated that I needed the dress on Saturday morning. He said well what can we do it happens. He clearly didn't care whether I had the dress on time for my event or not. He said he would call me later on that day, I waited and then I had to call at around 6:30 pm the lady said my dress was ready and to come quickly because the were going to close at 7. I got there and tried on the dress only to find out it was super short. All he said was ohh well, ya no podemos hacer nada. I took my dress and left. If I would have waited on their call I would of have most likely never gotten it. There was no point in arguing with them. NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

Just had my daughter join a quiceañera and they chose the dresses from here. Dress was affordable and lady was very nice. However dresses were 1 month late in arriving - the Quince girl now can't have her preshoot because the damas don't have the dresses, I feel terrible for her and her family. They paid for an expensive shoot and now can't even have that. And I'm sure the store hasn't called to apologize that they are late and that already 2 of the first girls dresses don't fit. I came in and my daughter's dress was 1 size larger than measured. So with less than a week away they are going to re-order, size it to fit and we should have it just 2 days before the quinceañera - this is absurd ! And they make it sound like they're going out of their way for us and doing me a favor, so not the case, how unfortunate that places like this ruin the experience of a happy memorable moment. I feel terrible for all the court and never again will I do business in a place that to start can't even measure to order dresses. Hope the mom complains like we are. read more
