A DISASTER! The absolutely worst experience we have ever had. They were rude, even after we explained how their employee gave us the wrong tux. They pridefully spoke about how perfect they measure and have been around for so long, but when my nearly 89!year old husband that was there for a measurement and fitting, was then given the entirely WRONG tux, I sure don't think they are anything but totally careless!!! The dam tux was 2 sizes TOO SMALL!!! Also he was given the WRONG SHIRT, not at all a tux shirt! The front of the jacket didn't close by at least 5 inches! The entire thing was a disaster. Whe I called to tell them what happened, they said they could offer us only a 50% refund. I explained that the tux was unusable, they said they run a service business and they still had to pay someone to do the alterations. I replied either the wonderful tailoring you claim is faulty or... my husband was given someone else's tux! When the tux was returned, the guy there had him try it on and took pictures to show the owner and my husband was told he'd get a call later in the afternoon. Well, just like everything else in this place, it was another "story". No one called and the owner said she wasn't even told about the pictures. Someone is clearly lying. Either they didn't want to refund or the guy didn't want tell them he gave my husband the wrong suit! The place is old, doesn't look fresh or inviting. They claim they've been there for decades and honestly it looks like they haven't done anything to the drab old place since they moved in. I surely would never recommend this place or the rude people that own it. Unless you're desperate and don't care what you get or if it's going to fit. This was a miserable experience and the owners didn't care how awful it was having antic 2 sizes too small. And when I said a 50% refund wasn't right after what happened, the old man who's the owner hung up on me. Awful!! Awful!!! Awful!!!!! I learned you can buy a tux online from a place like eBay (even new ones) and get it altered for less than you'd rent one at this place. read more

Came here because they're a local shop & it's nice to do business with a,"Mom & Pop store." It's definitely a family run biz, the daughter works the front, the mom who doesn't speak much English seems to do the ,"semi alterations..." They seemed to have a decent inventory, but not in my size, so they had to order it. What I don't appreciate is that there's no price list. The daughter rattled off all kinds of prices, which is hard to keep track of, and, the big problem is that they Do Not do permanent alterations if you buy a suit or tux. They refer you to another tailor they know of, which to me isn't at all in keeping with a,"one stop shop," especially a tuxedo rental store..They offer a,"temporary hem," for $15, which makes no sense, especially if you purchase a suit from them. They don't alter sleeves, which probably 90% of men's suits need shortened. Their whole deal is meant to confuse the consumer, rather than just offer 1 price for a rental, which should include alterations, no?? I can see charging alterations for a purchase, but they don't do alterations?!? How do you rent tuxedos but not offer to alter the sleeves? Why do you put a temporary hem on a suit purchase, charge for it, then make your customers go to another tailor for a permanent hem? There are several tux rental shops around that give you a price for a complete tux rental which includes the suit, tie, cummerbund, shirt, handkerchief & modern, clean shoes, and alterations. Overall they've been in biz forever, but they really need to get with the times & clean up their act and provide full alterations, a price list that's visible & accurate, and offer newer style tuxes in more sizes. read more

Gregory's Tux Shop 12051 Magnolia Blvd North Hollywood, CA, 91607 818-980-5480" That is word for word what the coupon says. When I presented it I was told: "No, that's for online only. Purchase only. That isn't even our company, that's why the website doesn't say Gregory's". Well, that website is advertised all over their store, on the business cards etc. And their business name and address is listed directly below the $25 off offer. And nowhere on the coupon does it state "online only" or "Purchase only". Definitely a bait and switch. See the picture I uploaded and decide for yourself. The girl who helped us with our rental was nice. She did try to charge us more than her quoted price when it was time to pay, but I will give the benefit of the doubt and say it was an honest mistake seeing as she was frazzled & dealing with 3 customers at once. (And when I reminded her the price was wrong, she gave us the correct price.) When I came to return the tux this morning at 10am no one was there. The store was closed, dark & locked. I stayed for 5 minutes, ringing the bell, knocking, etc. Even tried the back door, no response. I finally left at 10:06am, and now have to return again after confirming they are actually there during business hours. With a super busy schedule, this is a huge inconvenience. Really not impressed. Another soldier lost to matrimony... I recently rented a tuxedo from Gregory's Suits And Tuxedos for a wedding I had the weekend of the 25th of July. Overall it was a favorable experience but there were some issues I had with the tuxedo itself. I went in for the fitting about a week and a half before the wedding. The lady that fitted me was friendly and answered all the questions I had regarding the rental, the suit chosen by the groom and when the tuxedo needed to be returned. She had me try on a jacket and took some notes regarding the length of the arms and what size pants I usually wore. She subsequently told me to return the following Thursday to try on the tuxedo and pick it up. The wedding was on the following Saturday. The following week, I went to pick up the tuxedo on the day I was told. On this visit, the aforementioned lady was not there and this time it was a guy. He didn't say much, didn't smile and was not as forthcoming with his answers as the previous worker was. If I was to be completely honest, this gentleman could have been a little friendlier. Maybe he was just having a bad day...who knows. Needless to say, the tuxedo fit and I was on my way. As stated, the tuxedo itself fit fine and didn't have any funky smells or any tears or stains. While it was not a style that I would have picked personally, I did look good in it and was complimented on more than one occasion at the wedding/ reception. Unfortunately, one of the blatant issues with the tuxedo was the poor job of tailoring the tuxedo had. On two specific occasions, guests at the wedding specifically pointed out the really bad alterations the suit had both at the end of the arms of the jacket and at some points on the hem of the pants. The tailor used what looked like invisible fishing line but even so, it was very easy to see and made the tuxedo look cheap. I understand that the tuxedo was a rental and as a result you make some sacrifices but the alterations were done in a very hurried and unprofessional fashion. One of the other groomsmen complained about his tuxedo's alterations as well but we did not make a big deal out of it to the groom. All in all, service was decent, the cost of the tuxedo was expected but affordable but they might need a new tailor. read more

I really don't have an extensive background of experience with tux shops to compare this experience with. Because of this, I have nothing but good things to say about Gregory's Tux and Suits. The shop wasn't overly crowded with customers. The staff was attentive to us as customers. Their service was friendly and prompt. The prices seemed reasonable for both rentals and for purchase. The quality of the actual tux was nice. Seriously, what else can you say? I understand that some people might be frustrated with a small or sold-out inventory, but to that I say go early. Don't wait until the last minute to rent a tux. If the prom is tomorrow, you've waited too long. If the prom is in 3 or more weeks, you are early. Don't blame the shop for your lack of preparation. The parking is good. There are spots on the street in front of the shop on Magnolia, and spots in the lot behind the building as well. read more

I came here looking to try a morning coat (cutaway) for a morning wedding tux. First of all the guys there had a blank look not knowing what I was taking about. I had to point out which one it was. I got to try out a few tuxes, but the sales clerk wasn't all that enthusiatic in helping me. Didn't like anything that I tried on, most of the tuxedos had a cheap feel and cheap look to them. When I asked them how much the rentals were... $40... I started wondering ... maybe this is a cheap rental place that caters to high school prom's.
