The staff tonight were not very friendly. they did not seem to want to be there at all and almost like people were interrupting them for coming to see a movie. They were very unfriendly.... I also hate that you have to pick your seats now. I like to just walk in and choose where I want to sit based on how the layout looks when I get in the theater. read more

When on a road trip in Vermont during Covid-19 restrictions and regulations it is a great time to support a local movie establishment. Need I mention they use real Cabot Butter on their popcorn!!!! I have been here to see movies over the years and it is a great little cinema. The people are super friendly and welcoming always... and love the ambiance of the theaters. This trip we were just popping in for a few large buckets of delicious popcorn to go with us on our fall foliage leaf peeping car vehicle tour. The staff were delightful and they gave three overflowing buckets of popcorn doused with real melted butter and a huge refill bag for each one Delicious freshly popped popcorn with hot melted butter and a refill how can you go wrong?? You can't it was perfect and delicious and we supported one of our favorite places to take a road trip to just to see a movie in a pleasant place. read more

We decided to try the new updated seats (we generally opt to see movies out of town for this reason). We were happy with the upgrades and not having to travel and were thankful the people in front of us did decide to recline their chairs-if they had not their head would have been in our way of the movie! The seats are not in pairs, so if you're a couple you cannot lift the cent to sit together like some of the other recliner theatres you may have frequented. The bathroom was not clean, which I recognize is the patrons fault to some extent, however simple things could make a big difference...like a place to hang my purse/bag in the door-the absence of that made the balancing and attempt to use the restroom really frustrating and gross. The staff were kind and the service prompt, along with fresh and delicious popcorn! The four stars are generous and because we got lucky people reclined for MOST of the movie. We're hopeful they continue to make upgrades and changes so that we can opt to support our local theatre. read more

I saw spider verse here and I loved the theatre. It was small and nice, and I had a friend with me and sat in the recliners. There was a group of middle schoolers in front of us that was talking and on their phones the whole time, but my friend and I had seen it already so we were laughing at them the entire time. I accidentally bought tickets for the wrong day but the management was so helpful in getting me a refund. I went to see two other films here and they were both great experiences. We recently moved to the area in the midst of COVID-19, and we were looking for something to do. We happened to drive by, and saw they had a bunch of old movies playing (like The Goonies, Back to the Future, and more). The theatre is cute, and looks like it's "stuck in the past", in a charming way. It wasn't run down - just outdated. Sound quality isn't the greatest, but we didn't mind because we were seeing a re-run anyway. I wouldn't expect an amazing, once in a lifetime movie experience when the tickets are so cheap. They are definitely cleaning and sanitizing frequently - the entire place smelled like cleaning supplies (but I'm not complaining - it's nice to know they're doing the right thing). We went to a 9:20 showing of The Goonies, and it didn't look like the concession stand was open for our movie. I wish I had known that before coming. However, we were the only ones in the theater, which was actually kind of fun. Overall it was a great night out, and we will definitely be returning for another movie. read more

OK....its not up to the standards of Manhattan but it is decent, local and reasonably priced. My 11 year old grandson and me go there about once a month and we have a great time. The popcorn tastes like every other theater we have been in....unless you get "movie butter"...that IS CRAP...get real butter...same price. we go to Crossgates (Albany ) occasionally too. It is a bit better, but it is more expensive and is an hour away....more if traffic is bad going thru Troy. There is no reason to trash talk this theater. We are going tonite to see Avengers End Game. If Thanos does not kill everyone on the planet , we will post again tomorrow. read more

Clean, decent prices and overall well run from the viewers perspective. Its not a giant like Regals in Albany but neither are the prices. There has been an increase of talkers during the movies but this will happen where ever you go. One of three places to go if you live in Southern Vermont. Drive in is expensive when it comes to food and the service painfully slow. Manchester is nice but so very small and limited for movie offers. Cinema 7 (Bennington) is the best overall without going to an IMAX. Two thumbs up. read more

Very unprofessional management. Quite an outdated theater as well. If the weather is nice, your money is better spent at the drive-in near by as it is a much better movie going experience. Otherwise, take a drive to Manchester or even NY or Mass and get your money's worth at a quality theater that is not run by immature toddlers. read more

My husband and I have attended this theater twice in 2019, and it was just fine. The prices are very good, and if you ask, you can get real Vermont Cabot butter on your popcorn. Love that! I had no problem hearing the sound system, even though I'm hard of hearing. The theater was clean and noise from talkers was not a problem. It's not a gigantic megaplex, but so what? A minor complaint: the folks who work the snack counter are young and need to learn to smile at customers and pay closer attention: don't squirt all the butter in the bottom of the container and none on top. But my only real gripe is that they don't keep their online listings up to date. When I go online to see what's playing, I only see 3 or 4 films listed, so unless I drive there to find out, I don't know. read more

Pretty much the only theatre in Southern Vermont! Cinema 7 offers most of the current box offer favorites. The prices work since you don't have any other choice... come here or watch Netflix. My complaint is the TALKERS. Good lord. We were here for a 4:00 Saturday movie and the old folks home must have delivered a bus load. Every few minutes I was casting evil glares to "SHH!" or rolling my eyes, the talkers really took away from the movie. I've been here several times and the largest theatre is the best but it's hard to say which movie will make it. If you're desperate any of the screens will work but the biggest one is by far the best. Just avoid the matinee like the plague. read more

This theater is great for people with low standards. The theater is old, outdated, and consistently dirty. The men's room is disgusting. I am afraid to drink from the water fountain. The tickets are generally overpriced--you can spend the same amount at another theater and easily get an experience with better visuals, sound, and sitting arrangements. The service here used to be good--it was the only good thing about this place. Just recently I was told to leave the theater because I brought a small bag of candy in with me that I did not purchase at the theater's own concessions stand. I have done this at other theaters before and it has not been an issue. I was very polite and offered to throw my candy away--I hoped to resolve the issue reasonably. The employee absolutely refused to discuss it with me and very aggressively got in my face and told me I had to leave the theater immediately. I am not sure what warrants such behavior. I did not speak unkindly to him, I did not yell, I did not swear, I did nothing at all--I was not one of those customers who is facetious, or sarcastic, or sardonic--anyone who has worked in customer service knows the type. My friend, who had come to the movies with me, was also asked to leave. He did not bring in any outside food with him--how is that fair to him? We left without any hassle. We did not see any of the movie and we did not get our money back. Needless to say, this was probably my last time coming to Cinema 7. read more

For when there's no snow, or when it's raining, or if you legitimately have nothing else to do. Do not go here to see an action movie if you're expecting good sound. It's even hard to hear a basic movie with no special effects, the sound is just poor. The prices are ok and cheap (compared to what we pay in NYC!) but they fit for the quality of theater. The screens have some marks/holes, the seats are old and are barely at an incline. The place really is kinda sad, but once or twice a year, over the holidays to see a flick, it's acceptable. The place is in need of some general TLC. Also, when there's a rainy day, you will wait outside in line because there's just not enough space inside. Lastly, not that it should matter, because you are here to see a movie, and not use your cell phone, but there is ZERO service here for Verizon, just an FYI. read more

This is an older theater with no stadium seating but since the switch to digital screens the picture is good. Views are good from most seats. Sound system is fair but not mind-blowing. There is good sound insulation from adjacent theaters noise. This is really the only cinema theater in South West VT since the closing of Manchester Picture Show. Prices at this theater CAN NOT BE BEAT. Crowds are not too bad compared to large theaters. It is rare that a trip to Albany is worth the drive when you compare the value you're getting here. Popcorn is good. Get the large soda/popcorn combo for a free refill on each! read more

I have taken my grandson to Cinema 7 several times and have had a great time there. The picture and sound has been fine when we have been there. Although it doesn't have the new plushy seats of chain cinemas, the price is fantastic. My grandson always wants the mini chocolate chip cookies as a snack, which are addictive! I am hoping to take him there again real soon. Great place to take the family at a reasonable price. read more

Bennington Vermont is a very nice rural area - especially in the fall. For those people who have given a poor review, I would say give them a second chance. Check the movie reviews before you go and it's the same movie. We are very fortunate to have an affordable Theater in such a small city. And please note that no one is paying me for this review. Cinema 7 provides advertising and rental space for local merchants. To be fair, you would have to compare them to theaters in small towns, not larger cities, and, that may be the problem. I live over the line in New York State (8/10 miles away) but it's well worth the drive to Vermont for my wife and I when we see something that is receiving good reviews. The problem of finding good movies with meaningful content is obviously not the Theater owner's fault. If you really want a high-end experience you can go to Albany, New York over the border. I would rather go from Albany to Bennington than the other way around. Cinema 7's $5 discounted ticket prices are almost unbelievable (10 ticket book purchase). And that price is good for everything but 3D. For 3D it's about an extra $1.50 and you usually have the option of 2D which is the normal price unless you have the book price. The folks who work there are local and college kids from out of town. If there's a problem with kids, I feel comfortable telling them. In fact that happened last week and they attended to it. All things considered, I would like them to know that they are welcome here and I would not like to drive to Albany just to see a Movie that may well be out on DVD in the next 12 months or less. read more
