This is my first time at the cedar hill location. We've always gone to Mansfield but tonight they didn't have any seats for the times that would have worked for us. Cedar hill had plenty, so we purchased tickets online. First impression was pretty spot on with the rest of the theater. The lobby was dirty and not well stocked. There is a weird stench that follows you through the entire theater. It smells bad here. The bathroom was out of toilet paper and hand soap. The theater doesn't look like it gets cleaned between showings, they certainly don't wipe the seats down cause there was grease all over the seat next to me. Great location! Central to all things in Cedar Hill. The mall, grocery stores, etc. I'm doing one less star because when compared to an AMC it's not as updated or taken care of or clean but for the price and proximity to our house it served its purpose well!! Came to watch the minecraft movie with my family, was pleasantly impressed with the customer service! For 20-30 minutes from the trailers to the start of the movie, there were a group of 4 people who wouldn't stop talking or making comments. There is movie theatre etiquette and the group of young adults did not oblige! I called the store to ask for some assistance or if anything can be done. They were so quick with coming in and telling them something along with security. I really appreciated this since I was with my family for a family movie night! Had fresh popcorn and a delicious icee. Super clean as well. After that problem was figured out, we throughly enjoyed our movie and experience! read more

4 stars based upon the fact that the concession prices were actually reasonable. I got a chili cheese dog, pack of M&Ms, 2 drinks and nachos for $30. The theater wasn't extremely cold and the staff was very helpful. I'll be back! read more

Decided to stop in for a movie night I'm not sure if they're just lazy or short of help but the theater 5 we were in was never cleaned before the next showing it was super dirty our seats still had cups and popcorn bucket on the floor that was not acceptable for the price we pay so I am not sure when I be visiting this location again read more

This location has really great customer service , The managers on deck are very hands on and accommodating. Theaters a clean, roomy and the seating is Very comfortable. They recently added a new feature after Covid, not sure if it's just this location or a new Cinemark thing , but now when purchasing movie tickets online you're able to purchase concession stand items in advance as well. So when you arrive to the theater you don't have to wait in the long lines for snacks but can instead pick up your snack packs on your way to the theater. Our snack pack pick up was scheduled for pick up at 6:30pm but they running a little behind , so one of the managers themselves told us to report to our seats and delivered our goodies to us in our movie theater . I also like how involved the Cedar hill police are involved and are there to help with crowd control. I highly recommend this movie, especially this location. read more

Some little short 12 year old looking employee tried to kick me and my older sister out who is 18 and I am 17 for trying to see a movie and when she is my guardian and we tried showing the em our ids and the little girl worker was very rude and told me to shut up and I couldn't get in. But some kind older employee let us in but you should have someone tell you're younger employees to fix themselves. read more

Scam alert for cash users! I came here yesterday 12/15/24 payed for my movie at the front and then went to get some popcorn, drinks, and some candy at around 3:10-3:20pm. Their was a female working at the left register she charged me a certain amount and then when she knew i was paying in cash she had charged me for some extra stuff and my price went up. I gave her the money she left it on the counter for whatever reason and then gave me change after some time. Once she finished giving me all the things i bought she didn't give me a receipt and so i asked her for it to figure out why i got charged so much because i had counted everything in my head. Keep in mind her hand was shacking while handing me my money. I told her why did i get charged $22 for some candy? She literally added a combo to it and tried to tell me it was part of the other things i bought. She had a male come over maybe her manager and instantly refunded me my money so he might have been part of this scam. She was also going to give me another popcorn and i asked is this someone elses? Shes like this is for the trouble, but the manager said just throw it back in the popcorn machine. This place is outdated and a huge miss for me. Most cinemas in this area have been updated to the reclining chairs but this place is still the standard old school theater chair. I arrived at 7:40PM for a 7:50PM film on a Sunday, which in most theaters is more than enough time to get a ticket and a popcorn then find your seat because of the lengthy previews. The ticket purchase was fairly easy although you have to buy them outside and it gets smokin' hot here in Texas so even though the line was short it was hot to stand there and wait. Speaking of temperature, the theater was actually fairly warm as well - not the usual slight chill that theaters have. I am not exaggerating when I say that I waited in line for a popcorn for more than 25 minutes. The shelves were not properly stocked and it looked like they had not been in a day or so. Completely picked over and unorganized. The staff was working hard and steady popping new popcorn but they just could not keep up with the outrageous lines even with six registers open. Even who appeared to be the manager was working a register. Once I finally got up to the cashier they were friendly and quick but I missed the first 10 minutes of my movie. The older gentleman taking the tickets was really nice and super helpful - he was probably the highlight of the experience. I would recommend trying another theater. read more

Obviously there is no one on hourly clean up duty for the lobby. If anything? The entrance area should be clean There was popcorn all in the floor mainly nearly the butter area. The ladies room wasn't any better however there was a young lady that came in to clean it (broom in hand) as i was leaving. read more

If I could rate it zero stars I would ! I just moved here to Texas and I've been taking all my nieces and nephews here every couple weeks for 5 months straight to watch whatever movie they want I've taken them to late show times that start at 9-10:30 pm and today all of a sudden they denied all of us entry because according to them they implemented a law since January that anyone under 17 can't go in without their parent or legal guardian how is that if I took them to go watch Deadpool and Wolverine that's a rated R movie just a couple weeks prior to a 9pm showtime I've never had any issue until tonight specially since the movie I wanted to see was pg13 and all of my nieces and nephews are literally 13 or older why couldn't they let me know that they had that new rule when I bought the tickets and the fact they tried to say "we implemented that law since January " is a straight LIE I have proof of tickets and showtimes past 6 pm that I've taken them too within the last couple months what makes me even more mad is that they they said the money for all 7 tickets will be refunded in 3 business days it's barely Saturday so I won't even get my money back until Wednesday that's 4 days from now but they sure as hell didn't have a problem taking it from my card right away knowing that I bought the tickets for 6 pm which is when the start to require parents or legal guardians why count they let me know right then and there I will never be coming to this establishment again specially when the first time I came I accidentally left my jacket there on the chair and the next day when I called they said they didn't have it in the lost and found of course they didn't it was a $300 dollar Michael Kors jacket read more

This is the third Cinemark studio I've tried in the area this year, and they have all unfortunately been underwhelming from the cramped seats, the screen quality, the non existent surround sound, the bad popcorn, the long concession stand lines, and people not managing their phone settings correctly during the movie. Grew up going to cinemark theaters and it hasn't changed except for the reclining seats . Seen many great movies here over the years .

Really did not like this theater. All by itself, it's great. The employees are helpful and the seats were comfy. However, I spent the ENTIRE movie listening to people talk, laugh, in some cases yell, and run through the theater. My hearing is great and yet I couldn't hear some of the dialogue because the talking was that obnoxious. Out of 40 some people in the room, maybe 5 weren't talking throughout the whole movie. Then as we were leaving, we hear a police officer yelling about how it's past curfew and people need to leave. I will NEVER return. I'd rather drive an hour away than go back here. I used to go to movies at Cinemark Cedar Hill frequently, but now I go 1x per quarter. Every time I go to the movies, I order the Angus Hot Dog. No matter what time I come to the movie, they never have any ready and then I have to wait 15-20 minutes for them to cook. My other concern about this theater is that the clientele has declined over the past few years. There are a lot of young kids and teenagers that are at the movies during peak times and they are allowed to hangout and be disruptive to other movie goers. There is security on-site, but it doesn't seem to deter the excessive foolishness. I now go to Studio Movie Grill instead of this Cinemark location which is actually closer to my home. I rather pay a few extra dollars and get a higher quality movie and dining experience. One highlight that I would like to mention is the ticket taker inside the atrium. I do not recall his name, but he is a very cordials middle aged African American male. He is awesome and always seems to really enjoy his job. He is a keeper! read more

So guess what movie theatre REALLY needs to get their act together?!?!? First a kid falls in a puddle of sugary something, in the concession line, and splashes all over my feet. Mind you, it also looked like someone had dumped a large popcorn on the floor in the same line. A line that took 15 minutes to move 3 feet because the cashier was apparently on a mission to reach her step goal and could not complete a transaction without walking across the length of the counter the number of items on the ticket plus 2. THEN MY SUGAR COATED FOOT GOT BIT BY ANTS IN THE THEATRE!!! Where apparently there is no urgency to pick up trash from previous showings. One of my favorite movie theater to go watch a movie. I never had problem here. The theater is always clean popcorn always fresh, the seats are pretty comfortable with the arm rests that raise up so you can cuddle with your main squeeze. Plus it's pretty close to where I live so I do come a bit when something good is on or a midnight release. I recommend this theater for anyone. read more

This was the worst movie theatre experience I have ever had. We drove 25 minutes to watch Doctor Sleep at 6:50. The staff informed us that they were no longer showing the movie and that google was wrong. The first girl we talk to was lovely and very kind. We asked to watch another movie however she could not help us. We asked to speak to the manager and her customer service skills were atrocious.. Been to this theater 3 times the 3rd time was charm. I live maybe 6 minutes away but I'll drive to grand prairie or Arlington ect before going back. It can be 100 degrees out and they have 1 fuckin person EVERYTIME we go helping a line of 20 ppl no matter how early you get there if your not FIRST or SECOND just turn around because even 3rd is bad. It take 10 minutes per customer to pick a movie pick seats n get tickets I don't get it. The staff doesn't apologies for the wait. The experience was horrible. It was the first movie we ever went to go watch there and I will never return again. There was easily 70-80 people loitering outside making it hard to access the ticket area. Cops had to get involved in order to attempt to control the situation and they did not help. After we got into the movie theater it was even worse. When we got in the entire back row was full of kids that wouldn't stop talking and after we asked them to be quiet they simply talked back rudely and kept talking. We then went to the manager and told her about the situation and after she kicked them out they let them back in and the situation was even worse. They continued to talk so we left and got a refund. This wasn't even 30 minutes into the movie. It started at 9:05 and we left by 9:45. Horrible experience never going back again read more

The quality of the people confirmed why people tell me to stay out of this area/city. People were talking throughout the whole movie and you couldn't even enjoy it. I have not been here in 6 months and so much has changed- and not favorably. Sure, the theater shows good movies, it's clean enough and the screens and seats ware well managed. But getting a ticket! Why can't I just walk up and buy a ticket? I need to tell them WHAT SEAT I WANT? Is this a Premier theater where they serve me food? No- it's a stupid new management program the clerks have to use where I actually need to pick a seat on a huge digital chart and tell her. OK- seat 7- but which number 7? there are dozens of them- she figures it out and posts it for me and my ticket actually shows I need to sit in that seat. Which theater is the show? Used to be on the ticket- no more. I do need to check the wall for that posting. I get into the theater just after the previews started- so sorry. It's DARK! Where the hell is seat 7? No lights on seat number. Sheesh- who cares- it was almost empty so I saw about where it was supposed to be. So this might be better management but I doubt it- just more busywork that holds up the sale of a ticket! Folks in front of me took 10 minutes to get their two tickets- who is all this serving? This is a tricky review to write. If you go during the week or take the kids during the day on weekends its a solid 4 stars (unless you want a theater with all the bells and whistles). Tonight was my first Saturday night and I'll never go here for a prime time show again. I tried to watch Captain Marvel, but the were about 30-40 teenagers in there talking, laughing, on their phones, going from theater to theater, running up and down the halls yelling, etc. Before tonight I always went to the one at Grand Prairie and we'll always go there from now on...unless it's a matinee. read more

The viewing rooms are decent sized (not massively huge nor itty-bitty) which I liked. It also seemed very clean. There was a small video arcade to the left right as you enter. The matinee price was $5.50, which is VERY reasonable. The only downside was that they had one tiny little roped off entrance. The place isn't that large and there wasn't a crowd to necessitate this, but then I was there @ 4:30 on a Tuesday afternoon to see Ghost Rider, so maybe my perception was off. read more

Unorganized, chaotic mass hysteria!!! Purchased tickets online to save time and guarantee our seats just in case that showing was sold out....ALL FOR NOTHING! They were under - staffed and the people who were on staff were either overwhelmed or in training. By the time we entered the building, the line for concessions was minimally 8 deep per line. We FINALLY got our popcorn only to stand in another line (which had at least 50 people) to gain access to the theater areas. This was as bad as going through security on a hectic travel day at any airport. We finally entered the theater, with only seconds to spare before the movie started. For the most part, the theater seemed decent as my feet did not seem to stick to the floor and I didn't step on any leftover popcorn from previous showings. It was $5.25 I believe now it's $5.75 to see a early matinee. It is what it is. It's a nice theater with elevated setting. (Because of the stairs). The restroom so far has always been clean. I went to see Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones- tad bit different from the others but it was ok. read more
