I went here to see Ballerina with a special coupon i had. I spent some time beforehand at the bar and enjoyed some samples of local beer before having a very nice hefeweizen. The bartender was friendly and let me hang out for a bit while i waited. Afterwards, i saw the movie in an empty theatre (it was the last showing, i think people were seeing a different movie premiere on the other side tho) but still had a server come through occasionally to check up on me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance could not have been better all around. Made my experience that much better[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Woohoo, Alamo Drafthouse is back, baby! They've moved beyond the closure of the previous owner, and they are open again. We went to see Alien: Romulus here. They were doing a promo for coming back, so the tickets were under $7! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Comfortable seats, though they do not fully recline the leg portion elevates.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Theaters wasnt too packed, still had their full food/drink menu on offer and generally had a great time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will definitely be back to my favorite theater the next time I want to catch another flick on the big screen.

Bought tickets for a 3:30 Jurassic movie unknowingly purchased at wrong venue. Customer service was no help & rudest attendants. Requested a refund- since felt no assistance was offered & felt unwelcomed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Honestly I was really hoping the Alamo Drafthouse would up its game since it was basically given a second chance after re opening. But my visit was extremely disappointing. The drinks were mediocre, the bar staff kicked us out at 9:00 even though online it says they're open till 11. Our server at the actual movie theater was so rude to us. Our card was only checked once, and they snapped at my date saying they did it wrong and never checked back on us. I used to love coming here, but this was probably the last time I'll go.

The bottom right white dot? That's the seat where I sat. Solo table. No shared space. ChArger port right there.

Pretty sure this is the "Cedar" location off Botham. Same phone number I called listed here, and it says "Lamar street" Anyway. Parking : ew. Small parking lot BEHIND the venue. I say behind, because the doors are exit only, and you'll have to walk around. There's street parking (limited) and another parking lot across from the parking behind the venue. I ended up parking here and walking to where I thought I could get in. Nope. Exit only, so I had to walk around the side. Entry: it was different. There was no one there to check my pre- bought ticket. I did approach the ticket area and told her I already purchased. She told me to go ahead. Didn't really verify anything. I just walked right on in. Maybe short staffed idk. Theater : old. Seats were peeling. Sat at the top row at the ONLY single seating. Others are SHARED SPACES. There is ONE eating table per two seats. I just happened to view the searing and saw one seat by itself, so I grabbed it. There was a charger by this seat too. I don't know if it worked. I couldn't imagine sitting with a stranger, sharing a table, so I'm glad I got this seat. You just walk right up the stairs and directly to this seat, no having to say excuse me or anything. Service: ehhh. I only tipped because it's standard. There is no button to press for service. It's very old school, writing your order on a paper and putting it in the little "paper holder" and hopping someone pays attention. When I got there, the papers were already there, so I'm not sure how a waiter can differentiate if you want to order or not. Very archaic. No one checked up on me after I was served. Food: Royale with cheese. I didn't know it was a burger. Limited brisket on it. It was dark, so idk. $17. If was decent enough. I was hungry. I would opt for something different next time. No picture because it was dark in there. Movie was great. Wakanda Forever. This location is a little raggedy, though, so I wouldn't come back :) Bathrooms clean.

Went on a date there we had so much fun. The food was pretty good menu is very carb dense so don't expect much on the healthy side. We had truffle popcorn and it was pretty good I recommend. Sometimes servers were a little busy but they eventually got to us and gave us everything we needed. I love this place and it was a really good experience for my first time.

Came here to watch the Barbie movie. The place was decked out with photo opportunities, and brand merchandise. The theater was okay, the chairs were a bit worn out, and not the most comfortable. I didn't like that was a little confusing to order food, especially having to write in the dark. The food however was bomb. I had the pizza with jalapeños and it was so good, I ordered another. I shared loaded fries with my cousin and they were also really good. For the Barbie movie they had a pink cocktail, which was average but it was nice and pink and came with its own themed menu. One thing I do appreciate is the complimentary water on table. Overall I would come here again.

You purchase tickets at the kiosk when you enter, then head upstairs to the theaters. The decor is very minimal with a mid-century modern feel in both the furniture and color palette. My only complaint is that it was freezing inside, so definitely bring a blanket or jacket. They also have a nice mix of current releases and classic films. Overall, it's a great spot for either a daytime movie or an evening out.

My review focuses on the different types of seating and the greatness of online ordering. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Theater, Return) Atmosphere - Upon entering, you'll find a huge concession stand in the middle complete with movie candy and snacks to entice you as you make your way to order popcorn. There's an arcade on the right, and another concession stand for ordering more food along with tons of seating. If you order ahead, you can pick up your concessions here (see below for more details). 1 Star. Service - I'm going to focus on the Cinemark app. Who needs Moviefone when I can use the app for everything? I can select a theater, choose a movie, choose my seat, and even order concessions. Seriously, kudos to the Cinemark team, I show up at movie time, pick up my popcorn and concession that I ordered online, and head to my movie. No stress/wait, just time saved. 1 Star. Theater - Not all screens are the same. Here's a breakdown of what to expect: 1. IMAX - It's IMAX Digital - not a full-blown IMAX experience, but still good. The IMAX screen is dedicated to one side. It has its own concession stand, but it's never open. Finally, these are regular seats - no recliners. 2. XD - This is Cinemark's best experience. Huge floor to wall screen with reclining seats. There are also a few DBox seats which are more immersive (and expensive). There are two XD screens at this location. 3. 2D Digital - This is Cinemark's standard screen. They have multiple screens that vary in size, and they all have reclining seats. If you're not sure what experience your movie is showing on, check the website or app. Most blockbuster movies will be shown in IMAX and XD opening weekend, then will move to the smaller 2D Digital screens. Expect to pay about $50 for 2 people and concessions. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I really like the convenience of selecting a movie and buying it online along with my concessions. I'm also a Movie Club member (check Cinemark for details as pricing varies by location) and buying/refunding tickets and concessions are super easy. 1 Star.

While the area around the theater has new shops, as soon as you walk into the Texas Theatre you are transported back into time. This is a must visit. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Theater, Return) Atmosphere - As you walk up to Texas Theatre, you'll see an old school lit marquee displaying the current shows and features. Curved, star shaped neon lights spelling "TEXAS" hang outside, guiding you in. Inside, it's chick, cool, and even has a bar. Curved couches imported directly from the 60's remind you that you just stepped back in time. 1 Star. Service - The center ticket booth is no longer used, but the entire staff was super nice, including the bartender. They know the Texas Theater is different and embody the groovy 60's feel. 1 Star. Theater - ICYMI, the Texas Theatre is famous because this is where Dallas police arrested Lee Harvey Oslwald after the assassination of JFK. The seats don't recline, cupholders have been added in between seats, and visible speakers pump out the sound as Texas Theatre moves into the modern era. But honestly, this place is a cool museum. One where you can visit, watch a movie, grab a drink, and step back in time. It's true the mega cinema's may offer you a better movie watching experience, but they're nowhere close to being retro cool like the Texas Theatre. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. If you haven't been, you should. Watching a movie at the Texas Theatre is like a step back in time. You get to experience what it was like in a super cool setting. I hope this place never changes. 1 Star.

I also don't remember my wife (who isn't short) complain about the legroom. While finding parking can present some challenges and the women's restroom line can occasionally feel somewhat longish (I mean... what woman's restroom line isn't during a well-attended production?), I really enjoy the history and nostalgia of Texas Theatre. Give it a try. For those my age and older, it really does retain that old school movie theater feel--and, for any rainbow kids like me, the Texas Theatre welcomes everyone. The theater itself was clean and cozy, with only 16 seats, arranged in pairs on either side of the aisle. We arrived right on time, and sat awkwardly for an extra 15 minutes in front of a blank screen. No previews or anything began until 15 minutes after the scheduled movie time. Again, a very odd experience. Not having seen any employees before, we wondered if there was even anyone to operate the theater. The movie did eventually start, and the experience was smooth sailing from there. I will say, the movie tickets and snacks were cheaper than other, absurdly priced movie theaters. (Judging from the snack listings. I didn't buy any snacks, because again. There was nobody around?) In the end, I wouldn't dissuade anyone from coming for a movie. It was just a strange movie experience.

But in reality, the theater was not full. So I am not quite sure what was going on. The theater has not changed and has not been updated since our 2011 visit. The theater is showing its age. The seats we had were broken. They were stuck in one position and could only be changed with considerable physical force. I had to get up and kick the seat many times to get it to a normal upright position. The seats were not comfortable. The theater we were in (#1) had a screen that was too small for the size. The theater was quite large and we were towards the back, Row G, and screen seemed barely adequate. Maybe it would have been better if we had been closer. The previews appeared not to be in HD although the picture quality for the main show was fine. Aside from our broken chairs, another complaint is the fact that servers were walking in front of us nearly the entire show. You think that ordering food and drink as you watch a movie is a good idea, but it is not. It became really annoying to constantly have servers walk in front of us, which was distracting especially during key moments of the movie. We did not order any food but the people to the right and left of us did, so we had people walking in front of us the entire show. I have recently been back as an adult and the experience is not quite as I remember. The seating is still nice but basically matches the seating of most modern theaters. The food, which was not cheap by any means, was also extremely bland and slightly cold.
