My mom and I were excited to see Beauty and the Beast this past weekend at the movies. There is a brand new parking garage that was just built, so while parking used to be an issue before, not anymore! :) As far as I could see, they were showing all of the popular moves that I knew of that were out in theaters. Buying tickets are pretty easy here. They have several self-service machines here near the entrance that I feel are pretty easy to use. I was pleasantly surprised how much you can save on tickets if you go to an early movie. Part of the reason that I don't go to the movies often is because it's so expensive. The lines for snacks were lengthy, so we skipped that. The seats are comfy and the arm rests can raise out of the way, which I always like to do. The movie and sound quality were great. The reason I gave this theater 4 stars was because we literally sat and watched almost 30 minutes of previews before the actual movie started. I don't mean the advertisements and trivia they show when you come early and wait for the movie to start. It was way too many previews and not only were we talking about it, but so were the people around us, adults and kids included. I have never experienced that before and hope that this isn't a trend. read more

Great place to watch movies and get comfortable. They reclining seats are a plus and really love how they made it so there are dividers between each row so people's feet aren't near my head. I'm a movie club member and it's a great deal. Unfortunately they have raised their price! The only downside however is that the theater needs to work on cleaning properly. As a movie pass holder I come here quite often. The seats here are really comfortable and they are reclining. The size of movie theatre is bigger than the regal in Fairfax Towne center and the sound quality is better too. Most of the times 2-3 self kisosk out of 6 are not working. Once by mistake I bought handicap seating and I he staff were very helpful in exchanging the ticket for a different show. This is our go to movie place for all the lastest releases. read more

This is my local theater. I really enjoy it. The employees are wonderful, however, some managers, namely the one with the mustache, take their job too seriously and seem like they are only there for the power trip. I thoroughly enjoyed this theatre. Seats: Reclined, comfy, plenty of arm rest space, and reservable seating. Food: So much more than typical theatre snacks, but not quite gourmet. My husband and I split a large (what theatre does that?) pepperoni pizza and chicken tenders for less than $20. The pizza was full size and more than enough for us. The food was yummy, reasonably priced, and so much more than expected, but I would not take my always dieting blond Californian mom there. Perhaps they'll add avocados before her next visit. Drinks: There was a full bar there, but we did not partake. It seemed to have anything you could want. If I have to take my mom here, she'll likely get her calories there. Besides the liquor they have a barista who serves Starbucks coffee as well as your typical pop and whatnot. I was told they do free refills for large drinks, but I recommend a small water, so that you don't spend to much of the movie in the whizz palace or conk out from an insulin overload. I visit the place every week and noticed men's bathrooms are always messy. Urine spatted on the floor and no sign of regular cleaning. Last visit was even worse. All urinate bowls are malfunctioned in one bathroom near movie theater 3,4 and 5. I Wii post a picture next time if those issues are not addressed. read more

I've been going to this theater for for years and still having a sweet experience. Seats are comfortable (I believe they upgraded to recliners a few years back) and very easy to enter and exit the building. No complaints whatsoever. If this theater could improve over time, I think having a bit louder audio for the speaker system might be better because I personally LOVE experiencing the nostalgia and basses especially when watching an action film. read more

I used to go here often when I lived nearby, but after moving away it's been several years since I last visited. It's located in the center of the Fairfax Corner shopping center, where there are stores and several restaurants. This theater was nice and always clean when I used to go here, and the prices for their matinees are lower than anywhere else I've found in the area. The movie I wanted to see wasn't playing at the theaters closer to me so I stopped by here again and they have done a lot of upgrades since I last saw a movie here. All the seats are leather recliners and they're comfortable. The rows are very wide and there is a small wall between the seats, so you can't even see the people sitting in front of you. It's the most private theater I've ever seen a movie in. The staff was friendly and there weren't many people there when I went. The movie snacks are priced lower than I've seen at other theaters and the sizes aren't all enormous. They have normal human sized drinks and popcorn. I might have to start coming back out here to see movies now. read more

I admit that this was my first time at this theater but very surprised that it only averaged 3 stars on Yelp. I went for an early preview of a movie and the theater was very clean. The staff was well trained and handled the large crowd awaiting for the movie with ease. The particular theater I was in was average size and the seats were very comfortable. If you happen to fall asleep you can have some extra insurance that if your head touches the back of the seat you will not feel that you need to scrub yourself down. read more

Assigned seats might be a good idea if people actually sat in them or if the theater enforced the policy. That is not the case here, and their "Customer Service" desk is not manned. I love this movie theater!! First off, its location is killer with a outdoor mall that rocks some pretty cool restaurants and shops. It is the perfect venue from which to take in a dinner and a movie on a warm summer night. I'm not saying that it is something out of a Norman Rockwell painting, but everyone always seems content and full of smiles, which is something I cannot say about every theater location in Northern Virginia. As for the Xtreme Theater, it is that and more, Cinema Buffs. The screens are large and inviting, and harken back to a time when going to the movies was snacking on a slice of magic. The leather seats are plush and comfortable, allowing you to forget that you are watching the movie in a public theater and not some millionaire's home theater. The seats of course recline which contributes a great deal to ultimate movie viewing satisfaction. However, a key feature of this theater is the bar (isn't it always?). This theater's bar sits to the side of the lobby and contains just about any spirit a thirsty movie fan could want. I particularly like to pair my beverage with the movie, so if I plan to watch something with an English flair, it will be single malt all the way; where as, a James Bond flick will certainly see a martini shaken not stirred. However, when the next sequel to The Hangover, I am sure I will just drink beer. Finally, the best thing about the bar is that the booze stays at the bar and doesn't make its way in to the theater like so many cinema draft houses' policy. Let's face it, unless you are hanging out at home, cocktails during the showing of the film is never a good idea, for someone is bound to raise his voice or spill his six-pack. No, Xtreme does this just right, which is why I will return again for the next big blockbuster...Hell, I will even endure Affleck's Batman. read more

All butter-popcorn and critics aside - I've been to this theater numerous time for over a decade now (wow crazy that I can say that). I've seen the transformation from the name change, to the raise in movie ticket and treats. Regarding my very recent experience on 6/17/2015 - I arrived about 2.5 hours early to purchase my "discounted" tickets ($5.75) for discount movie Wednesday. While standing in line, I realized that there are no reserve seating! I was so spoiled with going to the AMC in tyson's and Angelika at Mosaic that this caught me off guard. I had to definitely put my planning hat on. While talking to my self and standing in line, I calculated the time I need to be in the theater in order to grab a good seat - 30-45 mins prior (Movie release week). Man oh man. This definitely cut into my "dinner before the movie" plan - but the discounted price reasoned with me. Parking here was ridiculous! Thank goodness I have a friend that live nearby and was able to park at her appartment complex and walked over. Tip: be prepare to arrive early to find parking, purchase ticket, and grab your seat! The theater has plenty of parking; In a great location; and has a very lovely storefront and lobby/common area. Yet, the management and staffers have a difficult time with figuring out the vision of the extra perks for this movie theater and maintaining cleanliness in public areas (e.g., bathrooms, movie rooms, countertop areas near condiments sections). The individual movie rooms are at times not cleaned at all (e.g., sticky floors, sticky arm rests, large trash on the floor/walkways) The trash bins (towards the main exit doors) were so filled to the maximum, there was waste spilling over. Our group also utilized the restaurant/bar area which offers 'small bites options' which is great in theory, however, the food is priced like fine dining restaurant appetizers, yet offers terribly executed sides/tapas style foods that are microwaved in a back area in what appears to double as an oversized storage room. The food is two thumbs down - the snacks and hot small bites are of poor quality and served lukewarm (at best.) With at least 4 additional movie theaters within a 3 to 4 mile radius, we have options and it seems unwise to travel to a theatre that operates at a C - to /D+ level, yet charges like they are a high caliber upscale theater. We use to be such a fan, but no longer. In the future, we just pass on visiting the Fairfax Corner 14 + location. Two palms down way down. read more

This should be on the radar for anyone wanting to see that smash-hit, blockbuster, or 3-D movie. Some of the theaters are positively mammoth. Generally, I try to support more local theaters like Alamo Drafthouse (Ashburn), Cinema Arts (Fairfax), and Angelika Mosaic (Merrifield), but if I want to have a floor-shaking, in-my-face, surround sound, stadium seating movie experience, I'll check this place out. They have lots of theaters, but surprisingly limited selection at times with a focus on mainstream blockbusters. The movie theater patrons are generally friendly and courteous despite the occasional phone-answerer or mid-movie text messager. (PUT YOUR PHONES AWAY PEOPLE.) Yes, certain films can get crowded. I would suggest getting there 15 minutes before showtime to get the primo seats if middle is your thing. Be sure to try their $5 Wednesday deals when every movie is discounted to $5 a ticket. A positive steal in our age of $13 movie tickets. read more

Very average theater with mediocre seating and the usual food options. Service was okay - mostly college kids at the counter (peals of giggles all around!). I saw a couple of people being kicked out of the theatre and the security guy standing by the food stalls gave eveyone the stink eye while flashing his gun (still in the holster). Saw Rogue One here recently. I just saw the regular (Xtreme) version because the others I was with don't like 3D. The theater has stadium seating where the seats have a steep incline. There's no problem seeing over the people in the row in front. The theater is clean; there's a clean up crew that goes through the theater between shows. The concession stands are well stocked with the usual high priced selections. They have a bar area that serves drinks and has small plate items. They have multiple theaters but don't seem to have an IMAX option. The theaters are relatively close and this is one of my favorite cinemas. read more

Cinemark took over the Rave cinemas. This was originally called Fairfax Corner Cinema De lux 14. Third name change in about seven years, but it's the same place. Things haven't really changed -- they still have stadium seating but I think they replaced some of the worn leather seats. They still have 3D theaters as well as "Xtreme" screens, which means full sized across the whole theater. Not quite as large as iMax, but larger than your usual screen. Prices are high, but I guess that's the case anywhere. They do still have a Wednesday bargain special price, $5.50 for the regular screenings, $8.50 for the 3D screens, and I believe $10.50 for Xtreme. Yes, $10.50 is the "bargain" price. This is still my favorite theater in the area. read more

This is a typical mega-sized movie theater. It is clean and seems well managed. The concessions, like all theaters, are available and overpriced. The staff is reasonably courteous and professional. My only beef with this theater is parking which can be difficult to find especially on Friday and Saturday nights. read more

This is a clean theater in a convenient location but I would not recommend it to people shorter than 6' tall. The seats of the chairs are so large that an average person cannot sit in them and maintain decent posture. I had to either slouch through the movie or sit half a foot in front of the back rest to bend my legs over the front of the chair. I am 5'9, my shorter wife had a much more difficult time sitting comfortably. I am pretty sure they were engineered by basketball players. read more

WOW!!!!! Movie theaters have come along way since I was a kid. Multi screens, great food and drink selection (including a full bar), modern facilities, not really all that sticky of a floor!!! Movie ticket prices have just gotten out of control, but that is not the theater's fault. It is nice to see the theaters sink some profits into the facilities so the cost for the nicer seats, better projectors and brighter screens does not come as a factor to overall cost. At times the movie selection here is somewhat limited, but over all... You will usually be able to find something you want. Some theaters have self selected seats, while others are general admission. Added "pluses" vary, but include 3-D and Extreme. Other than the CO$T, the only real downside is the other patrons! You can show up early (before the previews) and select a nice seat without people crowding around you. Then the lights go down and you find yourself surrounded by loud eaters, leg stretchers, and generally people who have no respect for other's personal space or enjoyment. This is a very nice theatre, and the luxury loungers are awesome. The facility is clean and well run. But they have some weird audio issues. We saw Crazy Rich Asians here, and had a hard time in some parts of the movie hearing the dialogue. You could hear other background noises fine (like crowds, traffic etc.), but even when characters were in a tranquil setting like an island, we were straining to hear what they were saying - the volume for voices was so low! Anyway, it affected parts of the movie, not the entire movie, but you really don't expect such basic audio issues in a nice theatre like this. That's why i took 2 stars off. read more

Decent theater. Typical theater that have like 10 screens. The chairs are comfortable, although sometimes it's a little too "bouncy". We saw Furious 7 when Avengers came out so the theater was pretty empty. I like to watch blockbusters after the hype dies down a bit ao that I don't have to fight for seats. I figured everyone would go watch Avengers this weekend. The theater was clean and the old guy taking tickets was nice and entertaining with his little snap and separate the ticmets schtick. The area around the theater is nicer. Pretty good restaurants, center area where kids run around and play, a train that goes around for kids to ride. Makes the day out nicer. read more

Have stopped going to this theater because they don't have enough handicapped parking. For more than a year, every time I tried to go there, the few handicapped spaces were always taken. Street parking is impossible because it is marked either 1 or 2-hour parking or you're ticketed. So, no thanks. I'll go somewhere else. read more

New seats are nice but too low, cannot see part of bottom of screen (I'm 5 9). My friends who are short or kids have more trouble and need to always sit near the bottom row. This is the only theater where it's an issue. read more

Took my whole family to see 12 Strong, showed up after buying the tickets online a week prior and they had changed the movie from 4:30 to 5:05. Then twice during the previews we were accused of being in someone else's seat. One of the two times a man was rude to my 12 yr old son about his seat. The theatre had double sold at least 5 of the 6 tickets I bought. The manager came out to see our tickets and wasn't polite. I like this theatre but it is going down hill. read more

Worst experience ever! Movie was interrupted multiple times because of a storm. Was in the movie theater for 3 hours for a 2 hour movie, then towards the end of the movie, the movie stopped again. Management was poor to respond and poor to compensate the customers with refunds. Paid $81 for a party of 5, never got to finish the movie, ruined the whole evening. Very rare for me to have a day off from work. NEVER coming back to this place again!! WORST experience ever! read more
