Cinemark in Tinseltown delivered a superb movie-going experience. Went to go see twisters, which was a great action pack movie and I would give it a B+. The updated seating provided a comfortable viewing experience, and the location was convenient and safe. Although the concession stand prices were steep, the selection of snacks and beverages was diverse and satisfying. The bathrooms could have been cleaner, but overall, I highly recommend this theater for its excellent quality and value, especially on Tuesdays when tickets are discounted to $6.00. A solid theater experience, but nothing particularly stands out. The place is clean, though the seats are a bit old. They do recline, but they can be loud when adjusting, so be mindful during the movie. Bathrooms are well-stocked and clean, though they have that typical public restroom smell. Like most theaters, the food is overpriced, but they do offer alcohol. The main concession stand at the entrance serves popcorn, meals, and drinks. To the left, there's a specialty food area with more options. Service was fine--just standard. They scan your ticket before you enter the area with food and theaters. The arcade is outside the scan area, so you can access it freely. Overall, it's a decent theater--comfortable enough, with all the expected amenities, but nothing exceptional. read more

After the local drive in closed, we stopped going to the movies for a while. I was looking for the perfect theatre for our movie-going and found it at Cinemark Tinseltown. Yesterday morning we went to see a film and the experience was fantastic. We were greeted warmly at the door by awesome staff and the associate at concessions was so nice and answered our questions about movie related merch. We were in theatre 19 for the show and it was very clean and the lounge seats were comfortable. We enjoyed our experience so much and are looking forward to seeing another movie in the near future! read more

Fantastic location that's Clean and so many great amenities such as variety of frozen 1800 tequila margaritas ! Forget your blanket? They have it for sale as well as so many fun merchandise. They have probably the best food options of any theater I have ever been to. We didn't have alcohol but they do have it so that's a bonus! There was popcorn on the floor, spilled drinks, and no one is cleaning it up. Staff is obviously overworked and it seems like they're trying their best. I've come here quite a few times over the years. They aren't the newest, but they have always been consistent and reliable. Their location is great. It's close to several restaurants and one of my favorite cookie shops! Tinseltown offers more than just popcorn and candy. You can also get burgers, chicken tenders, fries, and more. Oh and adult beverages! Our seats and area was clean. The reclining chairs are lush and comfy.. so much so that my hubs fell asleep! The only thing I wish they had was a food tray. Other theaters have the ones that you can stick in your drink holder. That would make it more convenient and less messy. read more

This movie theater is clean and in a convenient location. On Tuesdays, the movies are only $6! I recently saw the new Wonka movie there on a Tuesday and had a great experience. We got our tickets from the ticket attendant outside. We even got to pick our exact seats! When we went in, the line for popcorn was fairly long! We waited maybe 15 minutes, but we weren't in that much of a rush since we had enough time still. We got a small popcorn to share and then went in the theater. There was no one at the gate checking tickets so we just walked right in to our seat. The chairs are comfortable and recline. The actual theater we were in was spotless and the other guests were quiet and respectful. We've seen a couple movies here, but will especially plan to go back now that we know about the Tuesday pricing! read more

6/20/23 I recommend highly this movie theater for many reasons...yes, it is modern, has big comfy, reclining seats but also the staff. I thought I reserved seats for myself and two grand-daughters to see The Little Mermaid, complete with reserved seats and snacks for them...paid on line (very proud of myself) only to find out I reserved a diff day! I couldn't believe it since we travel thru what seemed like a hurricane to get there. They called the manager (nice young lady sorry I forgot her name) she started to talk about refunds/exchange and I said" I don't want a refund I just want to take my grands to see this movie" I think she felt my anxiety and looked to see if there were available seats and there were...thank goodness! The girls sat together and I was one row down..who knew on a Tuesday morning, in the monsoons they were so booked; now it was a small theater. Loved the movie, it wasn't freezing, kids liked their snacks, they picked up their trash when we left; a very good experience! read more

The quick and dirty: The theatre underwent a renovation in 2020 and it looks like a lot of it was into the theatres themselves. We are die-hard car fanatics so we had to take the trek out to see Fast 9. There's another theatre closer to us but as I was booking noticed DBox seating was available at another theatre not too far away. After looking them up, I decided to book at Tinseltown to check them out. DBox seats are on a hydraulic platform and move to calibrated different events and sounds in the movie. The place was clean and orderly - no trash or popcorn hanging around the deep corners. The snacks were a little higher than I was willing to pay and they had warm cookies and pizza that weren't too badly priced. The movie was awesome - can't review that - you'll have to see it for yourself! We enjoyed the seats which have controls so you can turn up or off the intensity - two of us had the intensity to max and one of us ended up turning them off. read more

We went up there to visit the old hood and catch a movie for old time sake - Seats all need to be refinished - peeling armrest funk all over my forearms. Hubby and I first went to Cinemark Tinseltown shortly after moving to Jax last year. Since then, we have been back several times. It's super close to our apartment plus they usually have a nice variety of movie and showtimes. There are tons of food and drink options nearby which is awesome. The concessions in the theatre are great, too. Tasty popcorn and good candy selection. The recliner seats are very comfy! During the several years before Covid, hubby and I didn't go to the theatre all that often. Since the industry was able to survive, we try to support them when we can. This has to be one of the nicest theatres I have ever been to!! My family went here to see the new Insidious movie and were pleased to see the nice, big leather reclining seats! They were very comfortable for a movie theater. The whole establishment was inviting and lit up and was very cleanly. Of course, when coming to the movies, you're already aware that the snack prices are through the roof- thats no different here. We got a medium popcorn and a large soda that was $15.... pricey per usual. Besides that, I enjoyed coming here and will definitely be back for more movies later this summer!! read more

I watched my first movie at Cinemark Tinseltown on a Tuesday evening. Tuesday's all movies are matinee prices all day. That is a great deal! My friend and I met for dinner prior to the movie so we did not want any food or snacks. But we did purchase Stella drafts. They had three different size cups at three prices. I purchased the 20 oz for $9 and some change. Our tickets were purchased online the day before and our seat assignments were row J seat 13 and 14. We watched an XD movie. I have to be honest I'd never heard of XD;) I go to the movies once or twice a year. Our seats were a little higher up than I typically prefer. However I enjoyed the movie from this location. I was impressed with this theater. I noticed the screen was curved (which I assume makes it XD lol). The seats were leather recliners with plenty of space for getting comfortable. You could recline your legs and back. I will absolutely be watching movies in the future at Cinemark Tinseltown! read more

I frequent this theater quite often. The ticket deal on Tuesdays is hard to beat at $5 each. They offer a movie club for $9/mo which gets you one ticket and 20% off concessions. I don't go enough for that. It's in a Great location. Easy to grab a bite to eat and see a movie for a date night. The cinema is huge. There is a ton of parking, but you'll probably have to park pretty far away during peak hours. The theater is very clean and up to date. The recliners are comfy, but I honestly feel like the recliners at regency are better. Obviously the food is expensive. I make sure to check their site for deals or promotions. Didn't find any deals for a Tuesday night, so I got a small popcorn and large coke (free refills) for like $12.50. For a movie theater, this one is definitely top notch. I've been to a few others and Tinseltown is always the cleanest/nicest. Employees are friendly. Haven't experienced any issues whatsoever. read more

What a time to be alive!!! After 5 long months from the COVID shutdown, Tinseltown finally re-opened, and with everything going on, it was nice to bring a sense of normalcy back to my life. I had no misgivings about going back to the movies - believe me, it was happening once I got wind of the re-opening, and for me, it was GLORIOUS!!!! The crew at Tinseltown was definitely on point. Safety protocols were in effect as publicized, with employees masked and gloved, and social distancing being observed. Ran into the manager as well, and both he and all of the employees were very nice and welcoming. The theatre was also the cleanest I have ever seen it (granted, it was also an early showing on a weekday, hehe), so that was much appreciated, and it was nice to find wipes and hand sanitizer stations through the lobby area and hallways. Both the entrance and concessions have plexiglass barriers, and I believe that paper ticketing has been halted - as least for now. Concessions are also only debit/credit pay, no cash, and lines are "one entrance, one exit" almost like theme park style, to control overcrowding at the register. Only bummer was that Studio Eats was still closed - again, I can see why, considering the potential for overcrowding and breaking social distancing, especially on a weekend - so you might want to grab dinner beforehand if you need a meal before coming in to nosh on some popcorn, candy, soda, etc. Big plus for the two-seat buffer inside the auditoriums!!! Whether you're by yourself or with a group, the theatre will maintain a two seat distance between parties to preserve social distancing. It felt safe to see folks masking up throughout the movie, although I have no doubt that some de-masked to eat/drink, but just didn't mask back up until the movie was over (For the record, I masked and de-masked throughout the movie, it's not that difficult or inconvenient). Honestly, I can't see how that would be enforced other than the old-school method of sending ushers up and down the aisle for periodic checks, so let's just say I'm again happy for the two-seat buffer! New movies are expected for release next week, but right now, you can take advantage of classic films showing, each for $5.00 (FYI, Jurassic Park and Back to the Future - which I saw - are showing on the XD screens, so even better to check out), and they have concession specials - $5 large popcorn, $3.50 large drink or ICEE, $2.50 candy - one of each plus my Movie Club discount only came to $9.42, so $15 wasn't bad for an afternoon out, plus I had popcorn left over for later! They will also still honor the plastic refill/cup specials - while they can't refill them directly, if you bring them with you, they will give you the equivalent single-use item at the discounted price. Overall, if you're feeling ready to get out there, I'd say give it a shot. Tinseltown did an awesome job for my first time back, and if this indeed becomes the new normal, I'm definitely all for it, if it means I get to continue enjoying the movie theatre experience while escaping from the outside world for a few hours! read more

I love driving up to the grand entrance of Cinemark Tinseltown. It has a Hollywood feel with the grand Marquee. The Cinemark is a great movie theater, comfortable reserved seating available, quality of image and sound are excellent. Each Theater unit is good size, and the seats are recliners. Buy tickets early for a show as they sell-out often. It's a very nice experience - worth dishing out on!! My ticket was around $13.00 this last time. Great experience overall! read more

Had to come back and update my review and give this theatre 5 stars! They have updated all of their theatres (except the XD theatre) with the large reclining (leather?) chairs. These chairs are oh so comfy! It's nice not to be right up under your neighbor whom you don't know! It's also nice that you can still raise the arm and snuggle up with your special someone. I love the fact you choose your seat when you purchase your tickets, so even if you arrive a few minutes late, you aren't scrambling for an empty seat in the dark. We always purchase tickets using Fandango and it's easy peezy. The staff here are excellent as well. Everyone.... even the managers. They all smile and will go above and beyond for you! Watch out AMC, you've really got some tough competition now! read more

Went here today to see the new Top Gun movie. All in all a pretty good experience. On the positive side, the staff were by in large were courteous and helpful (esp. the young man taking tickets and doing the greeting). The online ticket option lets you pick your seats (all seats are recliners) online and you can buy food online. If you buy food or drink online, they deliver it to your seat which was pretty cool and saves you a ton of time. Definitely recommend it. Plus, food and drink prices were high but not as exorbitant as I remember ($6 for a large soda). On the negative side, movie was late getting started and several patrons had to go out and speak to the staff about it but the manager was nowhere to be found, again the young man who the greeter/ ticket taker did a great job. Also, no refills on drinks at this time (kind of a bummer). Lastly, theater 1 which is the XD theater is not clearly labeled. Tip, it will be the large theater to your left when you walk in. The sign for it is actually on the opposite wall. Pretty good experience, will think about that using in future if another movie I like comes out, esp. since the are plenty of interesting/ good food options around it. read more
