This is our go-to movie theater - it's right by our house, has been cleaned up nicely and all the staff are friendly. There's the RPX theater if you're looking for a full experience, but even the regular theaters are good. They added a nice, new bar with full service - grab a cocktail, wine, beer, seltzer, soda - and head to your show. It's never packed but seems to be steady enough to maintain business. read more

RE: Ballerina in 4DX (Prepare to shake, rattle, and roll!) Let me start by proclaiming that if you experience motion sickness or have a bad back, the 4DX experience (specifically for a high action film) is probably NOT for you. You could literally slip a disc. We were shook, rattled, and rolled -- spattered with water (apparently you can turn the water off, but I never figured out how lol), spayed and pelted with air guns, jerked and jolted for the entire duration of the film. Was it a lot? Yes. Was I almost thrown from my chair thrice? Yes. Was it hard to get back into my chair after a restroom break? Yep. Was it difficult to eat my popcorn and drink from a can at some points? Yes. Did we both leave wearing some of our concessions snacks? Yes. Did our car keys shake themselves right out of the hubby's pocket at some point during the film, and we didn't notice until we'd exited and got to the car in the parking lot? Yes. Did we go back inside and find them lodged in the seat? Yes. But, after the shock and confusion of this being our first 4DX experience, did we enjoy it? Also, yes. Me and my wife went to watch DHURANDER at this movie theatre on Nov 22nd, 2025 for the 1:40pm show. I must say the Theater is very nice and well maintained. As soon as we checked in we went to their food court and ordered their cheese pizza, fries, their large popcorn basket which had Muriel refills along with their large soda. The pizza was cooked well and their crust was thin and perfectly cooked. Then we entered the hall and it was good. The only thing I would say is I wish their seats was more conformable so that it would have been an amazing experience. Anyways it was still nice we had a lovely afternoon. Worst theater sound I've ever experienced! I went to see Song Sung Blue on a recent trip to Jacksonville. A friend who lives in Jax wanted to see it and although I had seen it in L.A. already I enjoyed it so much I went again. The volume was pathetically low, and you could barely tell there was stereo sound. Some people must have complained so I guess they turned the sound way down. When I saw it the first time in L.A., the sound was so good it was almost like the band was in the theater! We won't go back to this theater. read more

They have stopped cleaning this place. It's disgusting. You stick to the floor and there is popcorn and candy wrappers all over the floor. Regal Avenues is in a bit of a rough patch. The exterior is definitely showing its age. I recently went there to try out the 4DX Experience with the movie Twisters. When I got to the ticket booth outside, there weren't any employees there. But when I walked into the lobby, a friendly employee greeted me and scanned my ticket on my phone. I didn't go to the concessions area, so this review is just about my 4DX experience. Obviously, the experience varies depending on the movie, but with Twisters, I had an awesome time. I wouldn't say 4DX is for everyone, though. The seats move and jolt you a lot more than DBOX seats, and there's wind fog, lightning effects, and even smell effects. I didn't notice the smell effects with my movie, but if you like the movie experience like some theme park attractions, then this might be right up your alley. I had a great time with my movie and would definitely go again to try out another movie in the future! read more

Going to see Wonka. We don't get out to movies much. Tickets for the matinee show were 30.00 for two people with tax, etc. Large popcorn and a large Pepsi were $20.00. The popcorn was not fresh, tasted like coconut oil or something and with lots of broken pieces. The seats are normal, as in no recline or comfort of any kind. The facility appeared and smelled clean. This was supposed to have the 4D effects which I did not notice. The movie was a "I should have watched it at home". I expected more. I hated the singing. Regal Cinemas Jacksonville might be a little older when it comes to the building and facilities, but the experience is still great thanks to the super nice staff. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we had a good time. The theater itself shows its age a bit--the seats and décor aren't the newest--but everything was clean, and the sound and picture quality were solid. Lines moved quickly at concessions, and the team was helpful and polite. All in all, it's a good spot to catch a movie, especially if you value excellent customer service. Over charging for an out dated theater. The seats don't recline, the seats fold down like the old movie days. The theater wasn't cleaned. The floor was sticky, candy in cup holders, and trash/popcorn on the floor. The bathrooms were nasty as well. Pee in toilets and lots of toilet paper left on seats and the floor. We purchased tickets through fandango and couldn't be reimbursed so we stayed. I have nothing good to recommend at about this place. It's my first time here and it's disappointing. My experience with Regal Avenues 4DX &RPX was a very interesting time. My friends and I decided to watch the new Dr. Stange movie, so we booked the last show (11pm) to watch. If you're like me and get a little vertigo on rides, this may not be for you. I felt like I was on an extended fair ride for 2 plus hours. My friends loved it, but it was not my favorite experience. I will say this would be a great experience with kids. I think they would be thrilled to jerk around in the seats and have the wind blow in their faces. I'm sure most people feel emerged in the movie, but I am perfectly content with no motion in my seat. This was my first experience with a 4DX show and it will probably be my last, but I think it's worth trying at least once for the experience. I will say the theater is very nice and clean. The location doesn't have much near it, and parking is good. There is also a bar area to get drinks, but the way those seats move, I would caution on snacks. read more

I saw the "4D" movie and it's a tiny screen and the sound is horrible. Yah know the main reason why we go to theaters. Also the effects were so bad. Very nice theater, really clean facility including the restrooms. The outside needs some fresh paint, but the inside is stunning. The neon lights are always beautiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The popcorn was fresh. They also have hotdogs,nachos, and other snacks to choose from, as well as a bar!! That's right, they sell alcohol here, too! This theater was really nice. It was clean in our theater and the restrooms. The food was really good. We got a lot of it. Hot dogs, nachos, churros, cheese sticks, popcorn, all.the.things! Service was really fast checking our tickets but getting our food out took a little time because everything was cooked fresh. You gotta wait for HOT food. We saw the Little Mermaid and we were the only ones in the theater. NICE!!! The price of movie tickets and then snacks is very expensive but that has nothing to do with the service I received! Let's go to the movies!!!! To start, Matinee prices here are a little bit cheaper then AMC but more then the early bird at Cinemark. The theater for the most part was clean. The reserve seating was just the regular seats and not the recliners, which was ok but previously going to Tinseltown for the past 2 years I missed them seats. The process to get snacks and drinks took forever. The first time in line with only one person in front of us took 10 minutes and then just to get a refill on popcorn took another 10-12 minutes. We didn't miss any of the movie but walked in 3/4 way into the Advertising. I guess that was a good think with 2 kids. I would give a 3 1/2 star . Parking spots too seem a little small, especially if you have a large vehicle. There are no combo meals as explained they where the same price as a la cart which was a bummer. 2 soda and a large popcorn $25 geeeeees. A combo meal would of been helpful. Sorta forces you to sneak in candy. I would return as the overall experience was good and the theater was not packed. read more

This is a nice theater and the neon lights in front are so beautiful. I forgot how watching a movie on a big screen is a nice healthy escape to forget the rest of the world for a couple hours. Tickets are bought at the concession stand, so be aware. You can buy them online beforehand, but there is a service charge, so I'm not doing doing that. AMC theaters offer an electronic way to buy tickets right outside their theater without paying extra so maybe Regal does too inside their theater. Tuesdays have a special lower price on tickets and 50% off concession foods. read more

Went to see the new Indiana Jones movie here yesterday. Staff was courteous. 2 large sodas and 2 matinee movie tickets cost me $45. Seats were nice but not recliners. They did have the ability to manipulate armrests which was nice so you can cuddle with your date and the arm rests have two levels depending on where you want to place your stuff. Ok, so this theatre is a huge disappointment! I've been coming here for the last 3-4 years. I am a movie buff! Regal has a monthly unlimited membership that I have subscribed to. If it wasn't for that I would not come at all to this one or the one on Beach Blvd. They are antiquated, and not very clean! The staff tends to have attitude half the time. Last night I went to go see the Black Widow (if you're a Marvel Fan, then you need to see this) on 4DX/ 3D. This feature has to be the only theatre room with the most advance look and technology. It is the only theatre room I have seen to be up to par. Yet the rest of it is not good. If you like a good comfortable relaxing chair, then this is not the theatre for you. From the outside to the inside- all of it needs an upgrade. Cinemark is a ahead of the game, even AMC theaters are rocking. Regal please step up your game! read more

This is sadly my first bad review. I was super excited to watch the new Spiderman movie in theater but I would've had a way better experience sitting at home and watching it on a TV instead. This theater was not my first choice, I only went to this one due to more availability. As soon as I sat down with my family in auditorium 19, we immediately noticed that the screen was not only very dim but was also quite small. I could barely see the commercials in the beginning and was hoping the screen would brighten up once the movie started but nope. The audio was also built like a regular home speaker system. Towards the middle of the movie, we saw a light flashing down at us from the projection room and it seemed like someone finally came to fix the brightness but there was no fixing done. Overall, I'm extremely unsatisfied and will never come back to this theater. read more

My wife and I used to frequent this theater ages ago when we lived in the area so I was a little nostalgic when she bought tickets for our date night. I have just set foot into the theater and so far my experience here has not been bad but not remarkable. The newly renovated theater looks a lot like the old one in the lobby, the only noticeable change is the bar that they installed. The issue with this theater is not the aesthetics. My first gripe is that I had to wait 12 minutes in line to purchase concessions. Granted, it was a Friday night but it was apparent that the line was inadequately staffed. After I got to place my order- cheese sticks and poppers- I had to wait 14 minutes to get my food. Normal runtime on a movie is about 90 minutes. I got there ten minutes early and still managed to miss a good portion of Maleficent . The rest of my experience was pretty normal. The theater was decent and well maintained. The quality of the sound and clarity of the digital projection was on point. BUT THOSE SEATS THO- For a newly renovated theater, Regal skimped on the seating. When other options offer reclining chairs and armrests that fold up, this theater has stationary armrests and seats that don't recline. When the seats cost the same, my next choice for a night out at the movies will be somewhere with a little more comfort. read more

This is my sister's favorite movie theater because she loves her Regal Crown Club membership. TIP: If you can manage to sign-up for their rewards programs, do it. You get some pretty cool perks like free concession upgrades, birthday rewards and ops for earning credits redeemable for free tickets and other goodies. I usually just go here with her. Some may say that this location could use a fresh coat of exterior paint; however, I think I'm OK with their outdated washed-out façade. The seats aren't terrible, but they can be a bit wider on each side. Also, either the volume could be turned up a notch or perhaps they could improve (or replace) the entire sound system. The last movie I saw here I really had trouble hearing the dialogue. The sound seemed to be only coming from the front. There's not a ton of great movie theater choices in Jacksonville nor do I frequent this particular location, but I would say the seats are a two-hour (max) limit for me and the sound system can be rather spotty. IMHO, these are two pretty important issues for the total movie-going experience...and it's not that cheap. Ending with a positive: Parking was pretty easy for a Sunday matinée. :) read more

I had to sit way upfront , usually no one shows up for the media seats. The theatre seemed to be pretty clean. People have replaced this movie theatre with other bigger-screen-recliner-seats ones, and it doesn't look like it's going to undergo renovations soon. For that reason alone, I've been visiting this theatre more frequently than ever. Ironic, right? I like the old-fashioned and traditional setting. Recliner chairs make me sleep, and I'm here to sit upright, watch a movie, and occasionally enjoy popcorn. Oh, and no need to make reservations a century ahead of time to guarantee decent seats, which is a feature of the newer theaters. I just joined their rewards program to accumulate points and take advantage of the daily (yes, everyday) specials they offer, like 50% off popcorn and $1 old movies. I also recently used a birthday gift code, which gave me free popcorn- buttered, of course. Newer is not always better. This theatre just topped all the other ones in the area.
