SENIORS BEWARE! I had a very disappointing experience at my local Cinemax theater in the Jess Ranch Senior Community. As a senior, I expect at the very least to be treated fairly--especially when it comes to discounts specifically intended for people like me. I accidentally purchased my tickets without applying the senior discount, so when I arrived at the theater, I asked the cashier if it could be adjusted. Instead of helping, he immediately told me that I would lose my reserved seats because the transaction would have to be canceled. That didn't sound right, but he was so discouraging about it that I decided not to push further at that moment--I didn't want to risk losing the seats we had already chosen. After getting our snacks, I decided to ask for a manager because it didn't sit well with me. The manager, Mae, gave me the same explanation--that I would lose my reserved seating if they corrected the transaction. At that point, I stood my ground. It seemed unreasonable that canceling and immediately rebooking the same seats would somehow result in losing them. It felt more like they just didn't want to deal with the extra step. Even though they were clearly not happy about it, I insisted because it was a matter of principle. I can't help but wonder how many other seniors have been given the same response and simply walked away to avoid confrontation, losing out on a discount they rightfully deserved. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience. I left feeling frustrated and, frankly, taken advantage of as a senior in my own neighborhood theater. Seniors should not have to fight for the benefits that are advertised to them. Beware and double-check your purchase before completing it--because getting help afterward may not be easy. read more

The place is pretty clean and honestly I was shocked at the seats! Apparently it's been a long time since I went to a theater and it's normal now to have large, reclining seats? I should probably go more often! They have a ton of food and drink options, although the check-out line was a little confusing, there were two or three employees behind different counters and then one at the end and people were just kind of standing around not sure which line to get in. No one offered to take people at a certain counter to help. I also like that the exit is separate from the entrance so you're not running into people leaving etc. It's also convenient that you can purchase your tickets online. read more

I'm leaving this review due to how angry I am at the management, I've been seeing films here for years and come in to find out they don't accept pictures of IDs anymore to see a Rated R film. Immediate after I'm forced to get a refund after wasting gas call the other cinemark to find out that policy hasn't changed and they still accept pictures. A good movie theater overall. The concessions line moves fast but just expect it to be dirty. The floor around the soda machines was sticky and there was popcorn everywhere. Thankfully, you only need to stay there just long enough to collect your items and pay (which surprisingly was pretty quick). The atmosphere inside is like your typical movie theater. Worst movie theater experience I have ever had rude employees I am 20 years old and lost my wallet a couple days ago went to watch Deadpool which is a rated R movie with some friends the ticket clerk said I needed my idea I explained to her I lost my wallet but I have a picture of it and I also had credit cards bank statements check stubs and they were very rude and didn't care sent us to the ticket counter to get a refund the manger said he couldn't give us a refund because the tickets were purchased through fango but they already gave another one of our friends a refund and they also got them on fango but overall a really crappy experience and terrible customer service would not recommend this movie theater to my worst enemy Would give 0 stars if I could read more

This is by far my favorite movie theater in the area. I have a Cinemark Club membership, so I'm able to order our tickets online and just enter our barcode at movie theater ticket kiosk inside to get our tickets printed. Since I'm a club member there's no additional service fees. I love that this theater has a self serve concession area. I feel like it makes everything go much quicker. We're able to get our own sodas and icees & grab extra snacks along the way. Only time we need to ask for assistance is when ordering popcorn. Just a heads up if you want extra butter you can ask the worker or there's a condiment area after you check out where you can add extra butter. The theater is always clean and never seems too crowded. I love that there's a ton of space in between rows. read more

It was very warm during the Furiosa movie. AC was off in the theater eight and it was difficult to really enjoy the movie.

I want to start out saying that the theatre was clean as far as I could tell. My feet did not stick to the floor and there was no trash laying around, seats in good condition. The all-gender bathroom was a single bathroom and was clean as well. However, we experienced a barrage of ads that caused a lot of stress. It was like torture being held captive in our seats and bombarded with an array of movie ads, movie trivia, and an overzealous "Zoomie (?)" chear-leader shooting out (and shouting) at us from the screen in an array of spasmodic images, sound crashing throughout the theatre. And to top it off, this went on for almost an hour. We arrived 10 or 15 minutes early so as not to rush and that is when it all started. And it continued from the movie start time (1:35 pm) until 2:03 pm, about 40 minutes after the movie allegedly started. There should be a disclaimer about the movie "start time" or people should be compensated for their time because precious minutes of our lives were stolen as we suffered in silence, thoughts even drowned out by the cacophony of sound. None of this was necessary for us to view the movie we paid for and came to see. Why must the theatre subject people to this? I would like to think that if the movie starts at 1:35, that I would be able to enjoy my movie at that time but that was not the case and agony ensued; for 40 minutes we unwillingly endured an eclectic array of movie ads with no rhyme or reason, suffering silently in the darkness and despair of this theatre. All reminiscent of horrific scenes in a movie where such sensory deprivation is used to kill the senses and sicken (ie Clockwork Orange when Alex was subjected to a brutal form of aversion therapy watching films of atrocities until he became physically sick and the poor monkey in that scientific study in 28 Days Later before he became a zombie?) You get the idea. Not what I anticipated but now I know why Netflix is the way to go. And PS, I won't be ordering any Cinemark food to be delivered to my house either. read more

First time here and had a wonderful experience. Friday night so the theatre was fairly crowded but the food lines went very quickly and it was easy to check in with tickets pre-purchase on line. May drive a little further and start using this location instead of the mall location as I felt much safer here. Bathrooms were clean, and staff was very friendly. Good experience. read more

This is the worst theater I have ever been to. Went to watch Deadpool and wolverine 3D dbox and it was so hot. AC didn't work. I was sweating while watching my movie. My order for my snacks and soda came to my seat late. And then an 1 hr and a half into the movie it cuts out. The lights went out only in theater 6 and all they could do was reimburse my 2 tickets. They said they couldn't do anything else. What about my snacks and gas to even get there. And not only my time for not being able to finish the movie. Never coming here again! read more

To start this off I live in big bear california. The drive from there to this place is +45 mins. I had made plans to meet all of my 12 friends down here to see the new deadpool. we went thru the line and got Popcorn and slushies and all that and then we get to the entrance to watch the movie and they told us that we needed to show ID's. Half of my friends didn't have an ID on them since they didn't expect to have a ID for a stupid movie. Any ways, my friends had pictures of their ID's, bank statements, credit cards, (you have to be 18 to own a credit card) and they still wouldn't let us in. We have facial hair and they are gonna sit here and say we can't watch a movie because we don't have ID's. So i proceeded to go get a refund and the manager told me that since i went thru fandango they couldn't get me a refund so I walked out but one of my other friends outside got a refund and they used fandango so i walked back in with my friend that got a refund and they were suddenly able to refund me for my tickets. the manager tried to scam me out of getting a refund and i missed a movie that i've been waiting so many years to watch. way to ruin our weekend Jess Ranch Cinemark. read more

Nice movie theater. We enjoy the reclining seats and the area is nice. It's not far from 24 Hour Fitness, ULTA, Buffalo Wild Wings and many other stores. The parking lot is large and parking is free. The concession stand offers traditional popcorn, candy and soda but also carries slushies, ice cream, pizza, nachos and I believe hot dogs. There is also a separate concession area for wine and alcoholic beverages. The bathrooms are hit or miss. Sometimes they are clean, sometimes they are messy. The bathrooms down the hall towards the movie area are usually much cleaner (and less used) than the bathrooms towards the front of the theater entrance. The theater is usually packed, especially for new releases and they sometimes sell out. I recommend this theater for a nice time away at the movies on a date, night out or family event. read more

Purchased tickets online for this theatre checked the tickets before I left home everything fine. I get to the theatre they show no record of the transaction do show a billing on my credit card. Family had to wait 1 hr and 10 minutes and repurchase at the theatre. My son is disabled and is 36 yrs old mentally he is 8 or 9 and I think it's really laughable that between us we spend 3 1/2 hrs waiting in the lobby. Called corporate office and they didn't care. It was fine the place place is clean and they serve alcohol now but this place will loose a 2 star because they do charge more than the near by AMC theater for tickets and they don't even offer refills on drinks or popcorn when they charge more for concessions(compared to said AMC THEATER) so you pay more but get less granted the reclining seats are nice but not nice enough to save those two stars read more

Nice cute little theater for the area. Plenty of parking up front. Once you enter, you can immediately go into the concessions line, which is very cafeteria-like imo. Just as you enter the theater from the parking lot though, on the left is the actual line to purchase tickets, if you haven't already done so via mobile app. or you can pick up your tickets if you did it via the app or something like that. I'm not too sure since I personally have the AMC A-List, so I'm a little unfamiliar with how cinemark works. In any case, just to the right of the line for concessions is the bar, and you can purchase adult beverages here. At the end of the concessions snake line is the straw/napkin/condiments bar, and once you're done with that, then you're ready to enter the actual hall of theaters. Everything is so close together in this theater, I'm a little cramped. Or at least, I feel that way. The theaters themselves are decent, reclining leather seats - the ones in the front bottom rows closest to the screens don't go back all the way (or further back than I am used to - not sure if the seats by the stairs are the same or not), and they don't have seat warmers (ok i'm very spoiled lol but it's a feature that you don't know you need or miss until you don't have it lol.) read more

I have been a customer since the day they opened and lately customer service has brought me disappointment!! I choose not to post a bad experience on a problem I experienced last weekend but, after today I have decided to bring this up for everyone's attention and maybe the GM for this location if he reads these reviews, maybe he can do some changes, before this theater turns out like all the others in town! So last week while watching our movie, we experienced a female staff member (M) walking in and out of our movie, walking in front of the screen and up/down the stairs on both sides, every 5-10 minutes. It was pretty disturbing, annoying, irritating and in sane! In all fairness, I know that's part of their job description but, not to disturb our movie we pay to see! My head was bopping around, along with several others in the theater, which were also complaining about the same thing, this was ridiculous. The movie was ending and it was the part in "IT" where all the friends are walking down the street together when my phone light turns on. Mind you I'm sitting in the handicap section no one on top can see me or bottom, so I grabbed my phone, to turn it off and the staff member comes up to me and tells me loudly to my hear with a annoying smile " I need you to put your phone away, we have a no phone policy " okay now... I'm all for the no phone policy but, one: the movie was over, two: I was annoyed throughout the whole freaking movie, that we didn't enjoy it! Three: did I complain to management in this 2.5 hour movie about your annoying employee? NO I didn't. So she brings a manager in the movie to point me out, they both walk away and because I was so irritated I walked up to them both to express my irritation. As everyone is walking out of the movie, their hearing my conversation with Management and people start Whistling and saying thank you we weren't the only ones that felt this way she was so irritating!!! I understand we're in a time we're we need supervision as some people in the theater can become irritating but, not in this matter. People like me will either one ask for a refund, file a chargeback, or I will ask management to take care of the problem when people become annoying while I'm trying to watch a movie! Everyone should do the same! What Management should worry about is annoying a aggressive person like this staff member did tonight and there's where a problem will occur. They say "Safety first" not "annoying someone first". Make some changes and make them quick!! read more

Love this movie theater. My husband and I have brought our son here several times to watch movies. When you first enter you stand in one line to get your tickets and pick out your seats. You know the cool comfy reclining kind!? Yes please. You then enter the area where there are tons and I mean tons of snack choices. They have a full Starbucks menu, a huge variety of candy in packages and candy that is self serve. All the drinks are self served as is the food except for the popcorn and ice cream. Not janky bars of ice cream in a package I'm talking about freshly scooped ice cream! If you couldn't already tell from my review I'll obvi be coming back! read more

I have to say that this is one of my favorite movie theater in the high desert. I really like how it is set up. You come in and purchase a ticket then grab snacks. The theaters are clean and neat. Like all theaters the food is a little expensive. I am not going to go negative on that subject. However, the food was not as good in the past. The popcorn was kind of stale and the cheese pizza was different for some reason. They didn't even have proper pizza boxes??? Who's doing the inventory these days. I remember the days when Mgr. This is a very nice theatre, service is great, its not too full, in fact when we took our son on this birthday there were less than 10 people in there with us, nice! HD screens and comfy seats, all good here. My only complaint is the prices at the consession stand, but I am sure it is like that everywhere. Kids popsorn $5 and that bag is TINY! Drinks $5, wowzers but you need popcorn at the movies and they know that, ok for a birthday or special date night, but there is no way else to jusify spending that much! read more

I came to visit my best friend who lives in Apple Valley, and we usually catch a flick and eat whenever I'm in his neighborhood. We came here to watch IT, which we both wanted to see. Had an hour and a half to kill which we did at the Best Buy in the same plaza. It is located in a huge plaza with plentiful parking and many other businesses. The theater was very clean, from the outside all the way to the theaters themselves and the restrooms. I was pleasantly surprised that a ticket for a 3 PM showing on Friday was only 7.25. I also like how you get to choose the seats you want.I got a small popcorn and bottled water for around 10 bucks but they will give you a small cup of water for free if you prefer. I liked how all the drinks including the icees were self serve. I'm not sure if refills are free but I would think they are. The theater was on the smaller side but anything looks awesome compared to the 65 inch TV at home. They have awesome vinyl sofa seats that have foot rests that go up. I don't think the seat back was reclineable. If it was, then I am just clueless. Regardless, the seats were very comfortable and spacious. There must have been at least 8 previews. . kind of ridiculous but I doubt it's the theaters fault. Video and Audio were both very good and the movie itself definitely had us on the edge. I got pretty startled in one scene...I don't think that has happened since the first Paranormal Activity! All in all a great theater at a great price. read more

Their internet had just gone down when we got there so they wouldn't sell us any popcorn or soda even though we offered to pay cash. We don't like to see a movie without popcorn so we wanted a refund (we had bought our tickets ahead using the app). They couldn't refund us either because of the internet so they gave us passes. The people who had come in the door right before us got to the popcorn counter before they blocked it. And they were given it for free. But they seriously wouldn't even take our cash. So the popcorn was made and just sitting there and nobody could have it because those morons don't know how to operate without internet. Good Lord, it's called pen and paper and simple cash. Get a calculator if you have trouble. So very disappointed in the two managers and how poorly they handled the situation. read more
