A picturesque park with a fun playground. I've never in my life seen such variety of people. It seemed like every race of human being was here with smiles. And their kids all running around playing together. It was beautiful. Big dog park too. Only bummer was the baseball field nearby was locked up. Bit of a bummer when you want to have batting practice or have babes that want to play in the dirt. read more

This green space has a long history in Palm Beach. The tiny pond at the north end of the park was once the Stub Canal and Turning Basin. It was large enough for barges that carried passengers and produce from tBelle Glade. Boat service started on May 17,1918. After a railroad line and highway opened in the 1920's, boat travel to fell out of favor and the 1928 Hurricane destroyed the boat docks. Now all that is left is what looks like a small retention pond with a fountain. Today this land has been turned into a 13.8 acre park located across the street from the Kravis center. The park is named after D.D. "Dad" Howard, the City's first Superintendent of Streets and Public Spaces. Park amenities include tennis courts, a softball field, two playgrounds, basketball courts, a soccer field, shuffleboard courts, pavilion, a walking trail, exercise equipment, the CityPaws dog park, and a community center. I came to the park to see the the free photographic floating art installation Foreverglades aboard a replica of a 1920's steamboat. How appropriate that a steamboat now resides on the very waterway that the boats used to travel to provide the supplies, food, and people that built Palm Beach. This was my first visit to the park and I loved it. While walking the exercise path on a beautiful day to the boat I passed under giant banyan trees and even saw an endangered wood stork perched next to ibis, herons, and ducks by the lake. Across the street on the north side of the park is a world class performing arts center while on the south side is the Grandview Public Market food hall that is revitalizing the warehouse area. Lovely park with some beautiful banyan trees. This park has tennis courts, dog park, playgrounds, fountain ,walking paths,community Center and bathrooms. Was not able to walk around much since park was closed but just like us there were a few jogging,walking , walking dogs and doing yoga. Will have to come back again someday. Parking is good. read more

Located in West Palm Beach parallel to the railroad tracks sits this great little playground/park. My granddaughter loved trying out all the equipment. Different slides were available depending on the age category. Swings were also fun for both toddlers and older children. There was quite a variety for a small park. Even the padding she tumbled on a few times was nice and soft. It's great for the little ones that fall a lot.The area was shaded too which makes it cooler on a hot and sunny day. A covered picnic area is available for those who need it. One Family was having a birthday party there. In a large field next to the playground, one person was training their dog. Lots of parking is also available right next to the park. read more

A great small dog park, smaller than the dog park at Okeeheelee Park. The park/area does have 2 sections just like Okeeheelee Park; one for big dogs and another for smaller dogs. It also has a dog water fountain. The park/area could be easily extended to make more room and also build a medium sized pavilion within the area. We came hear after Hurricane Irma since Okeeheelee Park was closed. Great find. read more

Howard Park in the city of West Palm Beach is a pretty sweet place. It spans a good acreage bordering Grandview Heights and has numerous attractions, including tennis courts, playgrounds, a community center, nature track, and a dog park. In the northeast quadrant, there is a beautiful and surreal tree grove that is home to a peaceful family of interwoven banyuns, very lothlorien, and best viewed. . . at dawn. read more

We are in town for work and decided to hit the dog park one afternoon. The park has a small part and large part and everyone is very respectful of the rules. Everyone was very nice and their dogs well behaved. The place is quite popular and I can tell why. Wished we lived closer so we could come here more often. read more

I go here on Tuesday nights for an intermediate/ advance group lesson at 6:30pm. Anywhere from 8-12 people (coed) show up. Fun drills for an hour and an half for $20 (cash). Green clay courts well maintained 1 instructor. read more

I love the fact that they have an area fenced in and separated for the big dogs and small dogs to run around and play in :) The park itself was big and nice as well. Would have been 5 stars if some of the garbage cans were better maintained and if the dog owners cleaned up more after their dogs. read more

Wonderful dog park to bring your dog! I bring mine all the time and he always has a blast and very friendly dogs. Would have given the place five stars but be aware there is an AGRESSIVE dog that is at the park around 3:00pm. The dogs name is Morgan and if your dog is unuetered he will go after your dog. His owner will pull him off and tell you how its YOUR job to nueter your dog and this woulndt happen. Other than that great park! read more

We come here multiple times a week. No, it's not the grassiest dog park you'll ever go to, but the dogs are great and the owners are nice as well. Everyone cleans up after their pooch and watches them rather than sitting on the other side of the park while their dogs on the opposite side. For as close as this park is to our place, we will be frequenting for a long time. read more

There are more dogs than owners. There is very little grass; it's mainly dirt with a few weeds, so very dusty and dirty. The fence separating the large and small dog sections is too low. I saw a large dog nearly jump over it. Too many dogs, too few owners. I drive past this one and move on to a park where the owners are present with their dogs. Too bad, nice location. read more

How on earth did this park get these ratings????? I needed to post this to let all the dog owners know that there are NO hoses to rinse off your dogs. The light spray of water that comes out of a push button fixture does absolutely nothing in rinsing off dirt or feces or anything else on your dog. This is the first dog park we have gone to in the country with no hosing down station. On the outside of the fence there is a remnant of a faucet that has been permanently disabled by the park managers as we later found out. They explained they did that because the area where there was once a flowing water source with a hose was not keeping the area clean. Now we go to Pooch pine park in West Palm, Lilac dog park in Palm Beach Gardens, Wellington dog park and Lake Ida in Delray. ALL of them have great rincing down stations for the dogs. This Howard Park is the WORST. read more

If you are anywhere near the convention center and need a place to stroll, run, or take gorgeous pictures, come to Howard Park. There is a one mile walking/running loop path around fields, water, banyan trees, and a dog park and playground. It is refreshing to walk around there, and there is quite a lovely community feel.
