PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BRINGING YOUR DOG ANYWHERE NEAR HERE!! My dos is a little dachshund, was looking for a place for her to play as she doesn't have many living in an apartment. I let her run and play and in her nature she was in the bushes hunting. I was watching her, playing with her, and keeping her close. She was brought into the VET ER today after she was playing in the bushes hunting and came face to face with an extremely deadly and dangerous Bufo toad. EXTREMELY TOXIC TO ALL DOGS. She was having horrible seizures, foaming at the mouth and hyperventilating. If I wasn't watching her at this "Safe & Fanced in" dog park she would've died. I know there's very little you can do about them showing up. But just the simple fact it lives there, probably 20 dogs came in a out in that hour I was there is extremely dangerous. WATCH YOUR PET. Amazing clean park. Only thing I'd recommend is more bathrooms near the tennis courts/ pickle ball courts.

Lilac Park is located in Palm Beach Gardens. It has a multipurpose field, covered playground, uncovered playground, and exercise trail. This is a great park to take the kids and pups to play but it is also ideal for exercise too. Next to the parking lot you will see the Lilac Dog Park. Dogs are only allowed in the dog park, not the other sections of Lilac Park. The fenced in dog park has separate areas for large and small. There is also covered seating, picnic tables and agility equipment. In the back of the park I discovered the clay Burns Road Jogging Trail that ends at Lilac Park. You can pick up the trail at the eastern end of the Burns Road Recreation Complex at Burns and Military. From there the trail heads south over a bridge across the the Thompson River canal into Lilac Park. Once the Burns Jogging Trail enters Lilac Park there is VitaCourse 2000 Fitness Trail equipment that uses your body weight to exercise and condition your body. I liked the part of the trail by the canal best where I watched a number of native birds attracted by the water. read more

This playground has had a complete redo, it's once again covered and the play equipment is bright and well layed out, they still have a bit of a problem with the high school kids in the afternoons coming into the play area, but they have signs everywhere to try to deter it, I would highly recommend this playground, being covered & fenced in is a huge plus read more

I came to this park yesterday as it was local to a family members home. It's not a large park but the maintenance on it was in fair condition. I arrived around 6:30 and there were a few other people their with their dogs. As a crazy dog mom I always come prepared with extra poop bags because I know my dogs get so excited that they don't just go once they go multiple times haha. I noticed that the poop bag dispenser was empty so I'm glad I brought extra. My dogs had an absolute blast running around and socializing. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was that the water station was broken and its parts were scattered on the ground. Being in florida it gets hot and for dogs running around in the heat a refill on water would have been nice should it have been accessible. Especially at a dog park to avoid heat stroke and dehydration. Overall it was convenient and served its purpose and my furbaby had no complaints. I just hope they fix the water issue and restock on poop bags. read more

Park: Decent park. Grass isn't always mowed in the small dog park but it is always cut in the large dog park. Water supply fresh and available, bags always stocked and trash taken out frequently. People: Big dogs do not belong in the small dog park. Aggressive dogs do not belong at the dog park at all. Dogs without shots do not belong at the dog park. Owners need to be more courteous and follow the rules to make the park a more pleasant experience. There are many nice and responsible pet owners at the park but they are over shadowed by the bad ones. read more

Closed from Jan 1 - Jan 20, 2018 for Maintenance. We went right before they close sed for maintenance and had a good time with both of our dogs. People were nice and picked up after their pets. The park does need to stock up on poop bags, 2 of the 3 dispensers were out. We'll be back when it re-opens. read more

While this dog park is convenient and easy to get to, it's just not in great shape compared to others in the area. My dog always gets super dirty after playing here because there's a lot of dirt patches. They do have hoses to use for baths but the one on the large dog size is in with the park and there's not a drain or anything so other dogs come over and get wet too. There is a lot of parking and it's nice to have the small and large areas separated. There's some shade and a few places to sit, but it's just not that clean. They do have nice water bowls available that refill automatically. read more

Excellent, well maintained dog park. Shady places to sit, dog activity stations and fresh water. Why only 2 stars? Basically, because of the humans. It is common for large unruly dogs to be in the small dog area, poop isn't being consistently picked up by owners, and this weekend two knuckleheads, male and female (with two large dogs in the small dog area), were "playfully" wrestling in the park. As you can imagine the dogs were getting anxious which could lead to dangerous behavior. We promptly left. This dog park is a fine example of why dogs are better than humans. read more

It's a good place for my dog to play with other dogs. Almost every time around 4-7pm the small dog side has 5-15 dogs, which is perfect for my dog. The park is decently keep. The owners are nice. Majority of the dogs play well with others. There is only 1 time where the owner wasn't paying attention to his dogs and they were played by rough. But that has nothing to do with the park. People on yelp don't understand that. read more

Never go here! My dog was playing when the owners of another dog left him off leash and he grabbed my dogs head in his mouth. I was about 6 feet away watching him and it happen d in a flash. I went and grabbed my dog out of his mouth and there was blood everywhere. I grabbed my 5 month old Labradoodle and drove to vet. He is on antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds to prevent infection. His right ear was bitten and torn. I return to vet in 4 days to see if he needs surgery. I didn't think to get owners name or number as I was in shock. Stay away from here. read more

I bring my dogs to this part on a regular basis. And I am well aware of the fact that dogs are going to act like dogs, which can be quite unpredictable. There have been two somewhat serious fights at Lilac Park in recent weeks that I witnessed first hand, including tonight. Earlier this evening one dog attacked a smaller one and refused to let go. The owner could not get his dog to release the smaller dog from its grip. The sounds the victimized dog was making were heart-wrenching. I can't imagine what injuries it sustained. And, I have no idea whether it survived. I left just as the police arrived. But, from my experience, the problem is largely the lack of oversight. Most of the humans are more focused on their phones than their dogs, as if dogs aren't prone to behave in or potentially be part of unexpected/undesirable behavior. If an aggressive dog is not being monitored adequately, people need to leave the park. Otherwise, the conflicts between/among the dog owners can be just the negative energy that dogs need to make the situation worse. Safety isn't about location. It is about the behavior of the humans more than the dogs. read more

As stated in other reviews, this would be a nice park if people just followed the rules. Very few people interact with their dogs. They let them off leash, go sit and stay until they leave. Dogs over 30 pounds are always in the small dog area and the owners never watch them as they bully the smaller dogs. The little dog section has a small hill, which prevents owners from seeing their dogs when they are on the other side of the hill. This is a prime pooping location. I know this because of the many dog turds that dot the area. I now yell for owners to come pick up their dog's poop when I see a dog pooping and no one moves to clean it up. I suggest the park remove all benches and picnic tables so people will be forced to stand and watch their dogs. Tonight I picked up at least 10 piles that had been left by large dogs and negligent owners. I also had to endure two cigar smokers and one cigarette smoker. What happened to the no smoking signs that were so frequently ignored? I suggest the park reinstall the no smoking signs ... or provide smoke-free times for more its civilized patrons. The park needs to be patrolled by recreation staff more frequently because it's quickly becoming a cholera dispensary and an unappealing ashtray. Palm Beach Gardens should now be called Palm Beach Toilets. read more

This park was recommended by another dog owner of a small dog. My family took our mini golden doodle with high hopes of a great experience. There were two areas that very clearly stated dogs under 30 lbs and dogs over 30 lbs; however, the side with dogs over 30 lbs was closed for maintenance. So, did the owners of dogs over 30 lbs leave? No, they proceeded to bring their dogs into the small dog park. Our dog was immediately followed and pinned by another large dog. I finally yelled, "Who's dog is this?!" The owner finally looked up from his conversation and said, "He won't hurt him." He never tried to reprimand his dog or separate him from our dog. Then his friend's dog continued to follow our dog and attack him - no intervention. Then, a woman with a pit bull mix brings her dog in and he immediately chases our dog, pins him and starts biting at his throat. She had no control over her dog. At this point, my husband intervened, picked up our dog and we left. There was limited seating, the owners of the large dogs were too involved with their own conversations to watch their dogs, it was muddy, about 1/3 grass and unsafe for dogs and humans. We will never return. This park clearly needs to be supervised by the City of Palm Beach Gardens, because residents are not able to follow simple rules. read more
