I stopped by Pies & Pints - Montgomery on a Saturday afternoon and ended up having a really solid…read moreexperience overall -- definitely a strong 4-star visit. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and a plate of char-grilled hot wings. The sandwich was the highlight for me. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, with a nice char on the outside that gave it great flavor without being dry. The bun was fresh and held everything together without falling apart halfway through (which I always appreciate). It felt like a well-balanced, thoughtfully made sandwich rather than something rushed. The char-grilled hot wings were flavorful with a smoky finish from the grill. They had a good kick -- not overwhelmingly spicy, but enough heat to keep things interesting. A couple of them were slightly on the smaller side, but the taste definitely made up for it. The atmosphere was relaxed and lively without being too loud. Service was friendly and attentive, though we did wait a bit longer than expected for our food during a busy stretch. Nothing dramatic, just noticeable. Overall, it's a place I'd happily return to -- good food, good vibe, and consistent quality. A strong 4 stars from me.

There are some great beer options that you can level up with nitro. The pizza selections were somewhat overwhelming because there were so many familiar choices and I had a hard time picking one, but I opted for the chicken Gouda, which was a top tier choice. Plenty of chunks of chicken, with a smooth sauce, and nice crust. I ate the entire pizza because I could not get enough. The decor was very whimsical with their elephant logos throughout. Overall, good choice for a Friday night or anytime you need some good grub.

Tristan just took over as head brewmaster this spring and the quality of his work is evident in every sip. You will also find Tristan serving up the product of his labors most evenings. He is a wealth of beer knowledge. This is a must stop for hop heads with at least 4 IPAs/APAs on tap most of the time. A wide range of beers is available for all tastes. The Dos Pelicanos Mexican Lager tastes like the original Corona before its sales went up and quality went down. They also have seltzers and wine for non-beer drinkers. When mapping out breweries for the area, we came upon this hidden gem that we never seen on the map…read morebefore. It's located in Freeport FL just across the bridge from Destin. We definitely wanted to visit here since we thought it was a new brewery (more on that later). This place is actually in the backyard of a local High School. Kind of odd to be honest. There is a small patio on the side of the building. The front of the building was open beings it was a nice day outside. We decided to do a flight to try the beers. Out of all that we tried and sampled, my friend was a fan of the Cherry Limeade and Anchored Down was my favorite beer. After speaking with who we assumed is the owner, we learned this place has been open a few years. I even told the guy that we have came down here for the 3rd year in a row to Florida and never has this place popped up on the map or a whisper of this place was mentioned. He gave us a background on the place and the beers themselves. I also heard from another source that one of the brewers is from our Hometown of Louisville KY. We enjoyed our visit here quite a bit however it was quite a distance from where we were staying. I wish we had time to visit one more time but, maybe next time. It is definitely worth visiting.

My husband always loves trying new beers and the option to get a variety of options canned to-go is definitely a plus. Their staff is very knowledgeable about flavors and suggestions and friendly even when they're slammed on weekends. The Beer: I have tried probably close to a dozen beers. They are always changing them out and they let you have flights of up to 8 beers. Their hazy's have always been solid. The food: Their pretzel may be the best one I have ever had. It's soft, doughy and comes with a tasty beer cheese. I want to eat it again right now. The last time I went I got a simple chicken strips and fries. Except it was not simple it was delicious. The strips were more chicken breasts that were barely seasoned barely breaded and simply delicious. I forgot I had a dipping sauce. The fries were perfect little crisp pillows of heaven. Get them with truffles for a slight upcharge. The atmosphere: Very cool. The outdoor patio in the back is perfect for those spring and fall days. The inside is decorated with various history fun facts and items. The brewery itself is in an old section of town that is being revitalized.
