We were immediately greeted with a big smile from a gentleman who proudly shared that he's been working there for 23 years. He took the time to explain everything, from the teen karts (which go up to 30 mph) to the adult karts (up to 40 mph). I was impressed to learn that licensed 16-year-olds can drive the adult karts..neat and a little scary! They offer a private room, though note that private events aren't booked on weekends and reservations aren't taken. However, if it's not busy, the private room is often available. Also, any racer under 18 needs a waiver signed by a guardian 24 hours in advance. The day of the party, we arrived early since it's first-come, first-served. The ladies at the counter were friendly and set us up in the private room, which was perfect for our group of twelve 16-year-olds. The space is roomy, has AV capabilities, and features a huge window overlooking the track. There's even an order window in the room for added convenience! The food options exceeded my expectations as well--the menu is larger than I expected, and the pizzas and tater tots we ordered were pretty tasty. We'll definitely be back. Such a great experience!

On the other hand, traffic was lighter and there was something Dickensian about the entire experience. This is exactly what you expect it to be, though perhaps a better experience than I expected it to be. It's a drive-thru experience of Christmas lights, a synchronized light show with lots of spectacle and holiday spirit to be found. The music broadcasts through your car radio (I was glad I was with friends since my radio actually doesn't work). Christmas Nights of Lights opens before Thanksgiving and runs through New Year's Eve. It's a rain or shine (or snow) event. A few things to know: You enter at Gate 3. Online reservations are required and no cash/credit is accepted at the ticket booth. There are no refunds as they sell a limited number of tickets for each night. You "may" be able to exchange for a different time/night depending on availability, however, this MUST be done no later than 10pm on the day the ticket is valid. Carload passes and group passes apply to single vehicles. Also, the height restriction of the entrance tunnel is 11 feet. I grew up without Christmas in my home and there's a certain nostalgia to this experience in terms of driving around and seeing Christmas lights. Obviously, this is quite a bit fancier and a lot more festive. Is the experience somewhat expensive sure? $38 for a carload up to eight. $58.50 for 9-15 people. $84 for 16-35 people. If you go for an earlier slot, you get a time slot range of two hours. If you go later, it's about 30 minutes for the experience. With a carload, it's not a bad price. Will it become a holiday tradition? Probably not. I enjoyed it, maybe even more because of the rain. It added a certain sparkle to it all. However, it didn't quite have the "wow" factor that makes me immediately think I can't wait to go back. This is a neat experience and certainly a fun one for larger families or children's groups, however, for singles and small groups it's likely a bit pricey and not a great value.

The music is noticeably more religion-oriented this year than the past. I'm not sure who actually runs this but it seems weird on the state fair grounds. And this is coming from a Catholic family. I just prefer blasting the Christmas classics in the car, not some new age Christian metal that I'd get exposed to at one of those churches.

This was a PERFECT festival celebrating Main Street Speedway. One we hope to see again in the near…read morefuture. The rain had stopped shortly before the event began so all was well. The main party hub was located between Sara Fishers parking area and the Dallara Factory. The beer garden had numerous U-shaped lounge seating spread throughout with amazing outdoor heaters to help fight off the chill in the air. This was an ideal area for everyone to gather while enjoying beers from all the local beer vendors. Flat 12, New Day Meadery and Sun King beer flowed all evening. Birthdays were celebrated as well as Opening Day at IMS and Renovation of Main Street Speedway. Food trucks lined the side of Lino's so the wind was blocked and the food lines were long. The lines were moving but I wouldn't say quickly. It didn't appear to detour anyone from waiting even though faster lines would have been appreciated by all. A large dining area of tables had been perfectly placed and surrounded on all sides by the beer garden, food trucks, play area and the Jenna Epkey Band entertaining the crowd! Everything was contained but everyone was free to wonder wherever they liked. Lino's was open and serving coffee to very long lines with only one register and two barristers. Go figure?? Where was the "square" along with additional staffing for this size crowd? Two barristers is normal staffing for a weekday. This is the second time they have disappointingly presented their business and missed a terrific marketing opportunity in two weeks (Bier night). Many customers left the line and some didn't even wait for their drink after paying. They were also selling fifths of Fuzzy's Vodka with Ed Carpenter signing at a designated area. VERY POPULAR! The staff appeared to handle this line quickly. The KidZone family area was terrific for the kids and adults. Speedway Fire Department was wonderful providing safety education with an engine on site for the kids to "drive". Slides, castles and even a Pedal Cart (large tricycle) race track were made available for the little ones. Sumo wrestling suits made everyone laugh till we cried. A celebrity dunk tank was fun for the crowd to watch as celebrities from Fox 59 and Sara Fisher was dunked. The Dallara Factory was open to explore for the entire evening. THANK YOU!! For those requiring more speed the Street Legal IndyCar Rides were available and a Zip Line at Gilman Street. The Car Show, with all types of cars and motorcycles, is always a fun part of any event for Indy fans. This event didn't disappoint the crowd and the favorite car judged won a Bronze Badge good for the entire month of May or Suite passes. Nice prize!! Speedway, you did us proud! Great job and we hope to celebrate this amazing town often.

My favorite was the daschund races obviously. We got to the "arena" area about 20 minutes early with our beer and got front row seats - so worth it!! They are so cute and it is so fun. People waited in line for wrist bands only to find out they needed to go to the podium first to get a ticket. This is the 13th year for this event I would think things like this would be worked out. I found a parking spot about a half a block away so that worked out well. I had a nice time. I talked to a lot of nice folks. I ate some good food. I really enjoyed my potato pancakes with sour cream. I do not drink beer but they also had wine and regular cocktails. They had German music and everyone really enjoyed it. They had weiner dog races but it was very crowded around the track and I did not get to see them but I did see plenty walking around the event. They had several vendors and I purchased a hat for my grandchild. I had fun and also enjoyed a meal at The Rathskeller.

You know you've arrived when you spot the massive Indianapolis Motor Speedway track surrounding the museum. We got lucky and were able to watch some cars practicing on the track, which made the experience even more exciting! The museum itself is three floors filled with incredible history, cars, and memorabilia. Our favorite parts were seeing the evolution of the helmets and getting to look at all the different racing helmets and outfits up close! They also have an interactive area that makes the experience even more fun! Timed admission tickets were easy to purchase online through their website before our arrival, and we easily spent a good two hours here. Definitely a must see when visiting Indiana!

The tour guide repeated himself 3-4 times including saying 2nd place is first loser twice which yikes 08 called and wants it phrase back. Save the time and money. This place sucks ass.
