Today the store was moderately busy and I could shop the aisles with ease. I love being greeted by beautiful plants and flowers when I walk in. The store is always spotless and the produce and shelves make it easy to see the products. I'm always watching my weight so I like to buy a lot of the fresh vegetables and produce. Then on to the uncured bacon without nitrates. Today there was Empire turkey breasts, which will be perfect for preparing for the high holidays. Hamburgers, frozen chicken thighs are great for a quick dinner. We bought some chicken salad which we had for our lunch. Onto the dog treats! We usually empty the shelves because Freckles loves them. Dave always finds great wines for himself and to share when we visit friends. I love the prepared foods but are wary of the high salt content. Last of all the beautiful cards for $1.00! Can't beat that price. I only wish there was a bench or somewhere to sit if I had to. I understand that stores don't want people loitering or hanging out. It's really difficult for elderly or disabled people to shop without being able to take a respite. Otherwise I don't have any complaints. The cashiers and employees are extra friendly and helpful. We always bring our own bags that are environmentally friendly. Thank you Trader Joe's!

The fall items are our favorite but hold on the Christmas Eggnog is to die for. Make sure you get there early so you can get two or three bottles. So good. They have an awesome floral selection and it is very reasonable priced. Make sure you pick up flowers for your wife or that special person. Happy wife. Happy life. We have made stops at Trader Joe's all over the country and they have reusable bags designed especially to the local theme. But during Christmas time at your local Trader Joe you can buy bags that are from around the country. Really cool idea by Trader Joe's.

If it's last minute and you need something. I would try Farmer Jack's first. They have very good prices on there cigarettes. I'll never go anywhere else!! They also have a water dispenser outside. The prices are competitive with those at larger stores on the mainland when you factor in the convenience of not having to leave the island for shopping, especially during the winter season. (The exception is beer prices: For some of the more mainstream brands you can usually get a better price next door or down the street at the grocery stores, and Dr. Watson's almost never runs sales on beer.) People on Pine Island are dedicated to this store, and one of the reasons is that the owner and employees get to know the customers and honestly look forward to seeing them when they visit. It's one of the benefits of living in a small town, I guess. Those of us who live here are happy they're part of the community (and have been for more than 40 years!).

Anyway my wife and grandson and I stopped in she had to get groceries and the boy and I wanted PuB Subs for our fishing trip in the morning. So my wife grabbed her cart and went to get groceries and I said we will meet you in the car. My grandson and I went to the counter and ordered our subs not much of a line they had three ppl at the counter making the subs but the guy we got was to say slow might be the biggest understatement of the year. My wife got her groceries went home let the dogs out and came back the an was still making our subs the Iran war is over he's still making the subs the groceries we got from the public where slow sub maker will expire before he makes our subs . This was a Saturday today is a Wednesday and we are still inline for our subs. I don't usually say fire the guy/girl I promise you that guy has cost you many many many of customers and if your reading this and your the manager I'm sure you know they person I'm talking about .

I imagine that's why it doesn't always get restocked in the gas pumps. Another reason for no receipts , is to boost traffic in the convenience store there. I don't have time for going in and getting in line for a receipt in the hopes of management getting me to buy a Bear Claw while I'm there. I told an employee who was on another job near the pumps, but it didn't change the practice (or should I say lack of practice?) I'LL WILL TRY NOT TO RETURN SINCE i am a member of several "Big Box" businesses that also sell gas. Theirs is cheaper.
