They lived up to their great reviews, from the initial contact phone call all the way to the conclusion of the installation of my new unit. Derek, the estimate technician who arrived at my home on April 23rd, was knowledgeable and addressed my questions and offered options. He was at my home for over two hours! He offered me several options, without pressuring me, simply explaining the benefits of each option. His willingness to explore my request to remove current water outflow pipe that had been on the garage floor for decades, presenting a safety risk, and route it another way outside was taken seriously and creatively. He took me through the plan and I was so pleased. The technicians who arrived the next day to do the install, Gary, James and Kauntes, were excellent workers. Gary was in charge and went over the plan with me in detail. He was able to troubleshoot a few issues and get the job done! All three of them were courteous and, without being asked, applied shoe coverings every time they entered the house. They cleaned up after themselves. Gary kept me apprised of their progress. Now, it's two years later, and the system is not working. I called for a service call but was told that it would be over $250 because it was a weekend. I was sold a 10-year warranty for parts and labor, but now they tell me I must wait until Monday or pay a $250 fee because it's the weekend. I contacted the sales representative who sold us the system (James Thornsberry), but he had moved to Birmingham, AL. I am still waiting for a representative to contact me about getting the HVAC system serviced. The forecast is in the upper 90s today, and it's too hot in the house. We recently moved my mother-in-law into the house with us to care for her, and this heat could present medical issues with her. I am embarrassed that I was conned by Hot2Cold. First, I want to say when Xavier came, he said no such thing about he was only there to get the AC running. The dehumidifier is attached to the AC unit in the attic so how is this not all connected? And when he came to tell us he got the AC unit running we were told he shut the breaker to the dehumidifier and the AC started running with cooler air. Second, Sunday morning at 6: am I looked at the dehumidifier thermostat on the wall under my AC thermostat to see the Dehumidifier was running. My husband went to look at the breaker to find it was NOT SHUT OFF. Doing my own research on the Aprilaire with all the hot, humid weather we were having the DEHUMIDIFIER probably froze. Especially after it came on Sunday by itself. But was supposed to be OFF. So, it took Abbott Air to respond to us about our dehumidifier almost a week and only because I made my post on Yelp? What kind of customer service is that? Do not make excuses for the weather and your techs being overwhelmed with calls. We should have had a call on Monday as we were told by your customer service department, but we did not. OR you should have had a tech to our house on Monday to look at the dehumidifier. IF at that time we were told a part had to be ordered waiting is something we could accept but being totally ignored, NO. We spent a lot of money on new equipment with Abbott Air 2024 and 2025 up to $14,000. I am not looking for being a special customer with you and I am sure there are many other customers who have spent more with Abbott Air, but when a customer calls and needs service it should be followed through. If a tech is not qualified to fix a piece of equipment, then it should be called in to the appropriate tech and be followed up immediately not a week later. If you sell equipment and install that equipment, then you best better have the correct TRAINED tech to work on it. TRAINING VERY IMPORTANT.
