I was at Circle T yesterday with a group of my EPG friends from Berea College; and of course this was my SECOND time. I guess that that alone should prove that this is not just another restaurant -we chose to go eat there again despite all the choices we have in town. I ordered a tasty Grilled Chicken Dinner which completely blew mind which made me end up complaining that the pieces could have been more and bigger. The garden salad was another big shot with Italian Dressing on it, but could have been greener. The Fries did just fine with Ketchup. And all this was about $9. However I did not like the fact that Circle T has no smoking policy and that anyone could smoke where ever they wanted in the restaurant. A woman right across my table was smoking and the smell of it made me go out for a breather. There was also another lonely man a couple tables from me smoking. I really found this very disturbing and distractive. To my surprise nobody else was really concerned, at least not many of them looked at the smokers. The waiters, on the other hand, were efficient, professional, and 'friendly' probably because it was our second time. Although, it was obvious that they were overwhelmed by the unexpected large number of customers, they managed to contain the pressure, maintain the smiles, and calmness. Unlike the first time when they tried to serve us all as a group at the same time, they served table by table which was more orderly and strategic. In the restaurant, it all looked more of a social event than a business place which made us comfortable and of course loud just as the other tables were. While waiting for the food, some students went out and started dancing, stretching, and talking on their cell phones. That's how comfortable the environment is. If you really want to see some local good stuff, check this one out. Just keep your expectations not very high though. read more

Traveling through eastern Kentucky with the EPG summer institute, we stop regularly to eat at local businesses and to experience the local cuisine. With 20 people in the program, no including the instructor, we are a large group with large stomach's to fill. Having 20 hungry people suddenly storm in can be quickly overwhelming to any restaurant . However, the Circle T restaurant in Hazard, Kentucky was up for the job. This was my second experience at this destination and it was just as wonderful and enjoyable as my first. The staff is extremely friendly and professional in preforming their jobs. They have been very successful in establishing a comfortable atmosphere for their customers. I had a tasty cheese burger with fresh lettuce, onions, pickles, and a slice of tomato with side of hot fries. My food was at my table less than 10 minutes after I ordered it. With a punctual friendly staff, a comfortable atmosphere, and decent size tasty menu, I would recommend this to you. If you find yourself in Hazard, Kentucky do not be afraid to stop in at Circle T's restaurant. read more

This small local dinner is open 24/7 and has been for quite some time. Unfortunately, this dinner doesn't seem to get many crowds of twenty at 7p.m. on a Monday. We slammed the poor place. It took a while for them to take our orders and everyone at my table had to wait a long time for refills and dishes to be removed. The food, however, was worth the wait. I ordered the grilled chicken dinner with soup beans and sweet potatoes. The chicken was perfectly grilled and still really moist and the sweet potatoes, which were cooked in a way that I'm unfamiliar with, were heavenly. My only complaint about the food was that the soup beans could have used a little more seasoning. They also offered a wide range of pies that looked amazing, but I restrained myself from actually trying. Everyone else seemed to be pleased with their desserts though. As far as atmosphere is concerned, this place would seem like any other stereotypical dinner, but its old packman machine and jukebox set it apart. Had the opportunity to go to Circle T in Hazard this couple weeks ago. I was staying in Hazard working on a project and felt like getting the real Eastern Kentucky experience, you know...dinner in the mountains, home made meals, big dinner. I had been recommended Circle T, because of the menu and their hamburgers. When I went in you could see the cooks starting everything from scratch, not like fast food crap, people actually taking time for making a meal. I ordered the typical, which did not taste so typical, a big bacon cheeseburger. It was delicious and so big I had to take it home. My friends say they enjoyed their meals as well. We had a good time. It is very budget friendly as well with meals not exceeding 6 with a drink. Is definitely a must go in Hazard. read more

This is a nice small local restaurant with super friendly but also motherly like waitresses. They are very kind and provide a realistic smile for the group that came in. I ate a grilled chicken salad. It was delish! I loved the grilled chicken on the lovely bed of lettuce. I also was given the whole bottle of Italian dressing for my salad. It was a very good salad. I also got dessert. It was King's Chocolate Silk Pie or something like that. It was a perfect dessert. It was sweet and light. The best part is the prices are pretty reasonable! They do have a smoker section so if you don't like smoking make sure to sit on a the right side of the restaurant. There are nice little signs that tell you where to sit. read more

20 people and I took off to eat at the Circle T, the interior and exterior of the Circle T did not create an atmosphere that I should try to sell. The room was highly connected to the kitchen and the room design led to it being very noisy which is to be expected when 21 people talk into the room. I read the specials and ordered the Homemade Spaghetti for around $5.95 and placed my order. It took time to get my order which was to be expected. The spaghetti tasted like any day spaghetti, it was nothing really impressive but something you would find consistent. If you're in town a while, I would stop by the Circle T and try it yourself. my impression of Circle T restaurant is that it is a restaurant that provides value of hometown. it provides comfortable atmosphere by the design inside restaurant and by the kindness of waitress it looks small but i think they can serve at least 50 people there. I had grilled chicken but it was really grilled chicken breast without any side menus, so please don't be surprised. their menus are pretty honest. I had to order some rolls and side menu for dinner there. also I had a desert which was pecan pie and it was pretty good. I would not say that they have really special food and desert but they have pretty decent food and you would not be dissatisfied. read more

We as a group of 20 students with our Professor went to this shop. I was starving very much at that time. The service was slow for me and we got to order like after 30 minutes we arrived there. I ordered sweet tea, fried shrimps with french fries and brown beans. The fried shrimps and fries are not crispy. All I could finish them was due to my hunger at that time. The brown beans was typical for me. But, I really enjoy drinking sweet tea with lemon. Apart from slow service ( partially due to our big group) and my foods, I think everything is good. A large seating area, smoking and non smoking, and friendly service, I was greatly impressed with this diner. For the amount of people in our group (21) and the staff working, the service was extraordinarily fast for the uneven ratio. Most the food was typical for a southern diner, coffee and pies of the day, salad, sandwiches, soups, and dinner meals that come with fries and or many different vegetable sides. What stood out to me most was that I was able to special order a tuna salad on a bed of greens and get a lemon sour! If you haven't had a lemon sour, I highly recommend it, but prepare yourself cuz it's not lightly named sour. read more

The Circle T restaurant makes homemade food. I went there with 20 other people today. Honestly speaking, before entering, i sort of judged the book by its cover. I thought it was not going to have tasty food but i was totally wrong. I ordered cheese sticks along with a cheeseburger. The ground beef in the cheese burger was so well cooked and felt so natural. The atmosphere is alright, i would have preferred it if it was a little comfier in the inside as the smoking and non smoking areas are not divided by anything. Besides that, the overall experience was great. I would totally recommend it to anyone who happens to be around there! read more

Great customer service, delicious food and good place for business are some of the many qualities of this diner. Twenty students from Berea College ate dinner in this place today. I ordered Home made spaghetti and corn nuggets. My order arrived in no time. The waitresses are good listeners, respectful and prompt. My spaghetti was a little saucy, corn nugget was mouth watering and tasty. More than anything else they had good approach to customers. "A man without smile shouldn't open a shop." Circle T restaurant is a family owned business. I enjoy eating local food in this restaurant. For desserts, I recommend Kentucky Silk which is filled with rich chocolate mousse in a sweet crunchy crumb crust. There are five different kind of local soups. I will not forget the tuna salad.Service is very good. I feel the atmosphere of family value because of friendly service. It open 24 hours a day and seven days a week. What can I say about Circle T? First off the service was great! The waitresses were personal and maintained a wonderful smile the entire they were serving and it was not one of those fake smile. They generally seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Also, the food at the place was ok. I personally had the fried fish and hush puppies. The fish was good but not great. It may need more seasons or herbs besides being deep-fried. Although I will have to admit the Circle T serves one of the best milkshakes that anyone could ever ask for! Walking into this small diner, you get the traditional feeling. It is small and standard in interior. The waitresses are extremely friendly and are there to get you anything you ask for. The menu was a standardized "country had things like ch" menu and I loved it. They had chicken and dumplings and fried okra and don't even get me started on the deserts. Everything there was fabulous. It took me back home to my momma's cooking and it was definitely a great experience for me. After a long day of work my colleagues and I were starved so we ventured down to Circle T. When we arrived we had a hard time finding a place to park, I guess everyone had the same idea for a great meal. After we parked we were quickly seated and had our orders taken. Circle T is a family run restaurant which operates 24 hours a day. The food, though not 5 star, is a great value with great taste. A great place to stop and converse with friends and locals, the Circle T Restaurant was an enjoyable experience. While my high expectations were not met in regards to food and drink, I did enjoy the homey and friendly environment. The waitresses were some of the friendliest I've ever been waited by. It was a great taste of home socially, just not when it came to the food. I ordered the Roast Beef Manhattan. Being raised on a beef cattle farm, I was disappointed by the cold cut-like meat. Get the pie! I ate at the Circle T Restaurant for dinner tonight, with about 14 of my colleagues. I ordered the chicken and dumplings with sweet potatoes and fried okra on the side. While I wasn't a fan of the chicken and dumplings (too boney) the sweet potatoes were to die for! They were for simply prepared but extremely flavorful. But hands down, the best part of the meal was the dessert. I tried the blueberry pie. It was delicious! Serving Hazard 24 hours a day, 7 days a week since 1965, Circle T dinner has perfected the act. The service was a bit slow because we went as a group of 20. However, the staff were very friendly and the food was great. I ordered grilled chicken, french fries and corn bread. The grilled chicken was very good. The atmosphere was great. I visited Hazard, KY with a group of 20 others who were interested in spending money at local restaurants. The Circle T is family owned and open 24/7! The employees are very welcoming and flexible to some unusual orders. There are booth and table seating, and enough room for our large group. I ordered the Big T burger; it was huge and delicious with a large helping of crinkle cut fries on the side. I did not hear any bad comments form my group members, so the Circle T is a recommended local restaurants to visit! read more
