I've lived here for 3 months and am so happy about my decision to move here…read more I decided to write a review after reading about some of the negative comments already posted. It feels like a lot of people who have issues are highly motivated to bash this complex, however, my experience has been much different. People here are quite pleasant. I have gotten to know many residents, mostly dog owners, by chatting out front. People are friendly yet without being clingy or cliquish. As for hearing noise from neighbors, the ONLY thing I hear is when someone upstairs sneezes. Yes the train is loud, however, I don't even hear it anymore. Parking has not ever been an issue, and my schedule is erratic so I'm in/out all day and at night. The maintenance staff does one heck of a job! William is always painting something...Last week there was a guy literally washing the front doors of all the apartments on my floor! I live on 3rd floor and have yet to turn on my heat despite the frigid temps we've experienced thus far. The windows are well insulated and the heat must be rising from downstairs but it's 70° in my house. Last month's gas bill: $5.94! Alyssa in the management office has been friendly, warm, professional and incredibly responsive to me. There is a group of people, "The Complainers," who don't seem to be very nice to her but I've never met a property manager who's so genuinely concerned with doing her best and responsive. My only concern is lack of security. I feel incredibly safe here, however, I worry about my car being stolen/vandalized. Alyssa had a public meeting to discuss security issues (I was away) and the very next day ALL parking lot lights were turned on from dusk to dawn. This is a major improvement, however, installing more cameras in public spaces or, preferably, having an overnight security guard on foot would be awesome. I've moved a lot in my life and can honestly say that I'm looking forward to staying put here for a while. The quality of units, amenities and great staff are a bargain for the price. I looked at lofts in Dorchester Lower Mills that didn't come close to these apartments and for a lot more money. Commute can be a drag but with Rte. 9 only 5 min away you have everything you could possibly want in terms of shopping or restaurants. Yelp reviews usually sound like they're written by pissed-off people or friends & family. I am neither. Just someone who loves where he lives and wants to share his opinion.

He is very well behaved and so happy, he holds the doors for people as they bring their groceries in. He's a good boy. Some people look down on people with special needs. To add more misery, I was diagnosed with colon cancer and now have an ileostomy. It's messy and the Avalon maintenance manager wants me out and is bullying me along with the Natick management but they are too scared to face me. They sent a threatening letter saying I would be evicted and I cannot renew my lease. "Chris D" at corporate is too cowardly to put his last name, email or phone number on my eviction notice. He is a bully and a coward. Feel free to reach out you pathetic man.

They…read morego after handicap receipts I was told many times not to come into the office until I hear I use hearing aids and I'm legally deaf. I also use a wheelchair and many times the doors were broken on me. The management called animal control for a puppy who is going through a puppy stage. I was threatened many times and I paid well over market value never missed a day of rent. All of my reasonable requests were approved, approved by legal however never actually granted I was accused of doing something I physically could not have done and taken to court and settled had to retake them to court because they refused to make good on their part of the court settlement where they would say that I've that I did what they had asked I was embarrassed in front other residence by the manager, standing outside the gate to a resident event telling me my president was no longer wanted or needed in front of other residence. I was stocked by maintenance. I had the police called on me. I was told one time when I was struggling to bring something in that they didn't have the time to help me that they were short staffed. I didn't even ask for help as I had learned my lesson. After I left, I was continued to be stocked by an ex employee when I mentioned this to their lawyer, they told me I had to go to court and get a restraining order against her. There was nothing they could do. The place was full of dog feces. The package room was often blocked for me. When another dog was barking. They went after my dog who was in a not barking she's been trained only to bark to alert as she's a service dog or at the time of service dog in training I was told they called the border of health however, then they said oh we didn't. I was taken to court, and their lawyer actually kicked my service dog. The first lawyer did not but the second lawyer did under the table. He kicked her several times while she was trying to do a job of tucking I paid top dollar to be treated like crap. All I can say is the best thing that happened to me was having to leave cause I'm so much happier where I went I got tired of being lied to humiliated stressed. And harassed on a daily basis if you look, this is a pattern of the Avalon that they discriminate against handicap people.

Josh listened to my concerns and approached the issues, then guide me through the pros and cons of the heating system. I moved into Windsor at Hopkinton in 2022 and will be leaving in 2026. Over the course of my…read moretenancy, my experience has been deeply disappointing, and I feel it is important to share this review for anyone considering this community especially families. Maintenance services are adequate at times, but consistency and urgency are major issues. On two separate occasions, the air filter in my apartment was left unchanged. One of these incidents caused the AC unit to trigger an alarm at 3:00 AM, waking both my newborn and I . Despite the urgency, no one arrived for nearly two hours to resolve the issue minding you the alarm was still going off. Additionally, I experienced a bug infestation that required my apartment to be exterminated twice. I have never lived in any residence--apartment or otherwise--that had roaches or similar issues. After speaking with multiple neighbors, it became clear that this is not an isolated problem; there appears to be a widespread roach infestation throughout the property. Repairs are often handled with little to no urgency. At one point, my apartment key stopped working, forcing me to leave my unit unlocked for three days whenever I had to leave. This was a serious safety concern, yet it was not treated as a priority by management. The apartments themselves are poorly constructed. During the winter months, the units become extremely cold, regardless of heating efforts. Police are frequently called to the property, hallways often smell of trash and animals, and there are no security cameras monitoring the parking areas. When my car was hit, there was no footage or accountability. There is also a high likelihood of vehicle break-ins. The leasing office experience is particularly frustrating. Staff members often provide conflicting information, and it is difficult to get clear or accurate answers. Transferring units is unnecessarily complicated and stressful. When your lease ends, tenants are given very limited and expensive options: * Re-sign for another full year * Pay a $2,500 lease termination fee * Or go month-to-month for over $4,000 per month If you request a unit transfer, there is an additional $2,500 transfer fee, and tenants are required to undergo a new credit check and screening, regardless of how long they have lived in the community. Once notice to vacate is submitted, it cannot be rescinded. In my case, I experienced a personal emergency and needed to remain in my unit after giving notice. I was informed that my apartment had already been re-rented within days. Management stated they could ask the incoming tenant to move to a different unit with the same layout; however, this seemed unlikely, especially given that another identical unit was already available for the same move-in date. Ultimately, this situation is leaving my baby and I without housing, which was extremely distressing. Tenants are expected to return units in their original condition, which is reasonable. However, management also offers paid cleaning services to restore the unit to "move-in condition," raising concerns about whether apartments are properly deep-cleaned before new tenants move in, or if minimal work is done before repainting and re-renting units. I was a responsible, quiet tenant who caused no issues and rarely complained. It is unfortunate that I feel compelled to leave a review like this, but residents are paying significant amounts of money for housing marketed as "luxury." Voucher or not, tenants should not be treated this way. Those using housing vouchers, in particular, appear to be treated unfairly. Finally, many of the positive reviews seem inauthentic, and management responses often appear focused on protecting their image rather than addressing tenant concerns. I strongly encourage prospective renters to thoroughly research and consider other options before committing to this property.

The walls are super thin and you can hear both the freight train and commuter rail at all hours of the night and your neighbors. Bathtub water is often brownish. Management does not upkeep the grounds and common spaces, in the parking garage pets use the bathroom and they do not sweep the garage or clean it up. I have to clean up dog feces from my parking spot regularly so I don't step in it. When it rains the garage fills with water for days. The gym TV's do not work regularly and after asking management to address they do not fix or post how the TV's may work. Hallways are not regularly cleaned, and they do not enforce the no smoking community rules. The 6th floor regular smells like cigarettes. Parking they have no guest program. Residents use all the spots so when you have guest they have to park else where. This is one of the only buildings around that do not have a guest parking set up. Full time residents park in the spots while others have to pay for spots. Common spaces like the grills are never cleaned. WIFI on the ground floor you have to ask for the password when it could be posted in the offices for residents to use. As mentioned in other reviews the building is not secure, drug use happens often around the property, building is not ADA friendly. They just recently install automatic openers which are already broken. I've lived in some amazing building in the Boston area, do not move here unless you have too! Check out a Gables or Greystar property, you won't regret it ! This community is not it!
