Overall decent theater, but when they get overrun with people, like in Summers, they need to put up signs about where to get tickets, instead of assuming customers would know. The box office has outdated technology that they blame customers for, and floor-cleaning gets backed up. Some seats are in bad shape, and some movie-goers can be rude too. I always wish my favorite mom & pop theater had all the films the stadium theaters do. Most of us wouldn't go to these larger theaters, as they are all like this unfortunately and they do little to improve it. read more

The good is definitely the nice reclining seats in the theater. It is also a larger theater in the area so they have more options for movies and show times. They also have a large parking lot. This is maybe where the good ends -- the theater itself is kind of run down, service is not great. The head rests on the seats are worn down and look greasy (gross). The theatre we sat in was dirty and definitely not cleaned between showings. The armrests were sticky. Not my favorite theater in town. read more

We went here to the movie theater to watch Toy Story five while in SC , we didn't know what to expect since we are not from the area and many other theaters had some less than perfect reviews. We had purchased tickets online and were able to easily print as we walked into theater. We had popcorn and drink which I thought to be reasonably priced at roughly 15$ we shared. Bathroom was clean and theater was clean. The seats reclined and were very comfortable for us. It wasn't overly crowded. It was a 1:40 matinee and tickets were around $10 each. Here for the Tron movie around 3 pm and these place is not that busy because of the rain. The service was fast and the popcorn and sodas are great. The only complain is that on of the chair that my son is seated right now is broken. It doesn't stretch all the way out. I think Citadel mall movie theater needs to do chairs check up or maintenance day. Also, this is not the first experience with broken seat. The bathroom also more dirtier during busy hour but not so much at this hour. read more

The stadium seating recliners are large and comfortable and every seat offers a great view. The cinema is clean and with 16 screens all of the latest movies are always playing. Overall a decent theater. Came here a few times to see the Era's tour. Upon entry the lobby is okay, ordered popcorn and a soda for the movie. The first time I went I saw the movie in IMAX. The IMAX theater is pretty epic. Quality of seats, sound, and screen are on point. Clean theater, everything there was great. My only complaint is that the popcorn was pretty stale. We went on a Saturday afternoon so I would expect fresher popcorn. Second time went to the regular theater and it was still okay. It's not the worst I've been too and not the best. In between. My other ding for the star is the women's bathrooms could using a cleaning. At least from when I was there. So yeah if they made fresher popcorn and cleaned up the theater a bit it'd be great. read more

They are sooooo over dramatic about age. Workers are slaves to the system. They have no signs saying they don't take cash and when you get ready to pay the surprise you with this news. All out of stock on every snack pop corn is horrendous. All the arcade games out of order. In the 3d movies it doesn't even seem 3d. When I went to fill my drink an ice cube was brown. Someone was yelling in the theater at people bc they were not in the right seat even though there was nobody in the theater. When we tried to get tickets the wait was long because you can barely hear between the screen and the workers are dumb. Don't recommend at all. Waste of time and money do not come here. read more

Ghostbusters Frozen Empire was a fantastic film with a nod to the new school and a blast to the past! It combined the new skool with the old skool. The sets, props, and tech was the perfect mixture of new technologies and old technologies. The characters were awesome! The movie going experience is always amazing at Citadel Mall Stadium 16! The tickets prices are decent! The concessions are a good price! Southeast Cinemas has very comfortable seats, friendly staff, an awesome lobby, and cool decor. This is not my first time at this theater. It is a nice movie theater. My wife and I took our daughter here for her first time going to a movie theater. The employees were professional and friendly. When we entered it was clean for a movie theater. I noticed that they do have an IMAX screen even though our movie was not in IMAX. It was also nice to have reclining seats. I would not recommend sitting in the very back row of theater number 3. It has a different height compared to the other rows. This causes the row in front of you to partially block your view of the screen. Not sure if the other screens here are the same. It was also self serve for the fountain drinks which is nice because then you do not have to wait in a line to get a refill. They also had a variety of snacks. My family and I would recommend going here. I know we will go here again. read more

This sign rubbed me the wrong way. The fact they used the word nasty and how this is written is very off putting. I would write something like this, "We strive to give you a 5-star experience. If there is an issue within the theater please let a member of management know. We will do our best to correct it ASAP. Thank you for choosing Citadel Movie blah blah blah." Something within that same concept. It doesn't call anyone out but lets everyone know management will try to give you a 5-star experience. Really nice theater next to Citadel Mall. Plenty of parking. Ticket prices aren't bad, especially for matinees. Not the largest options at the concession stand, but they have the theater basics. The employee I talked to was very pleasant. Bathrooms are large and were clean when I visited. The individual theaters are smaller than I'm used to (at least the one I saw); about eight rows with 15 seats per row. Plenty of leg room and space between rows. The electric reclining seats are awesome! Makes for an enjoyable movie experience. The screen/movie quality was very good. Overall, this is a really good theater and I'll definitely be back for my next movie outing. read more

I expected the movie theater to be attached to the Citadel mall, but it was across the parking lot. I liked that there wasn't a ton of foot traffic coming in from the mall, but we had someone search our bags before entering to make sure no food or drink was brought in. The seats are reclining, but definitely not brand new. The inside of the movie was cold, but not something to complain about since outside was 92°! read more

Usually this place is clean, but they must be understaffed today. I came to watch Elemental in theater 12. In seats 3-5 of the back row, none of the seats were cleaned. Popcorn was all over the seats and floors. Seat 3 doesn't recline, so I could not lounge back. Anyway, I hope this was a one-off. Walk in, boom! Mildew straight to the nostril. I go to the bathroom, shockingly it's dirty. I go get a snack and the employee is a dick bag. I walk down the hall to the theatre smelling the moldy carpet covered in popcorn and trash because cleaning is not a thing at stadium 16. I saved the best for last. The whole seat was sticky covered in grease and disgusting overall. They are leather seats and clearly haven't been cleaned possibly ever. The dirty seats compliment the dirty smell and the dirty floor nicely. Couldn't be more disappointed. Funny enough I heard people next to me saying similar things about the women's bathroom as well. The citadell mall cinema is the best one around in my opinion. Gone are the days when you had to get to the movies hours in advance and queue to get a seat or have to find separate seats from your friends, the convenience of being able to pick your sit gives you so much ease and comfort to walk into the movies one minute ahead and have your seats waiting. Worst movie theatre I have ever been to. There are so many seats in the theatre that have obstructed views of the screen. This was my view for the entirely of the movie. I could only see half of the screen. They should at least let people know this before they sell the movie ticket to them. The popcorn and food is also horrible and stale every time. Woof this theatre has really seen better days. We just went to see Elemental (great movie btw) and it looked like a Walmart on Black Friday. The line was basically out the door (weird for a random Thursday). I had bought our tickets online but no one event checked them so that was weird. The popcorn was meh and way over salted and the pretzel tasted like it was verrrry old. They have the fancy recliner seats but mine was broken so I had to sit ramrod straight the entire movie. Everything in the theatre looks super beat up and like no one really takes good care of it, which is a shame bc it was one of my favorite theaters back when I lived here. read more

I was reluctant to drive from Mt. Pleasant to Citadel Mall movie theatre but was persuaded by my daughter. A few things that made it worthwhile for me. It's spacious and airy with not so many people when I went at least!! No problem with parking either. The movie tickets are way cheaper than what I'm used to and the obligatory popcorn and a drink much cheaper than I'm used to. The seating... recliner seats, the space around the seats are what makes the whole experience much more enjoyable. The seats fully recline. It is so nice. The main lobby could do with a clean though but not so bad. The staff are helpful friendly and efficient. The whole experience was a lot better than what I'm used to. I'll definitely return here and if you are heading to movies with a family it will be much cheaper than staying here in Mt. Pleasant for sure!! read more

If I could award no stars, I would. We came to see the 12:40 pm showing Oppenheimer, on a Monday. Filthy! Theater was not cleaned last night or this morning. Popcorn, wrappers, cup holders still had garbage. I asked for the manager to come see. Double-Snap attitude with a clown-red weave in a braid, came out of the back, on a cell phone, never greeted me, nothing....said nothing while I searched to find another theater, no apology or conversation...just stayed on her cell phone. 5 minutes later, she sent the white guy behind the counter, who is serving food, to come clean our seats. Am I high? I will be placing a complaint with the heath dept to come inspect this filthy place. BYOC...bring your own cleaner and your food as well. I'm sure the soda fountain is never cleaned and the popcorn is probably left over from last night. read more

I just wanted to say that we came here today and granted the icee machines were turned around and only one butter machine was working and they don't do serve yourself popcorn anymore, it felt a lot safer. Came here to see the Barbie Movie. This theatre is nice. I love the recliner seats. Food was typical with typical movie theatre prices. My only complaint was that a numerous time during our film we could hear other films in the theatre and it was slightly distracting. read more

In the 843, this is the ONLY theater we go to. The Citadel IMAX is a conveniently located theater by the Citadel Mall. Yes, it gets busy and a lot of kids go here. Get over it! Unfortunately, they don't have the IMAX certification anymore. However, theater 16 is as loud and HUGE as it ever was. The pricepoint is perfect (matinees are cheap) and competitive with other theaters that don't have reclining seats. Speaking of, the recliners have plenty of walking space in front of them so you're not tripping over each other when entering and exiting. Staff is eager to please and understands that you want to run right into your movie! Refills are automated and FAST! The only thing we'd change is for them to maintain the lobby and bathrooms more frequently as well as rotate the IMAX movies within the same week so we have a chance to see a few different films in their flagship theater. read more

Just took our Grandson to see, "The Guardians Of The Galaxy 3" we had a blast! IMAX; 3-D, reclined seating, reserved seating and very wide isles! Definitely our favorite theater! The arcade was a hit with our grandson as well. By the way, The movie gets 5 stars too! Their best yet! A must see! read more

I would give it no stars if I could. I went in today to go see Aquaman. I left after 5minytes because it was boring. I went to the front where they said the concessions guy could change our tickets to go see colo purple instead then the guy said he'd have to get a manager to change the tickets. A white overweight manager (who wouldn't say her name) came up & said we'd have to buy new tickets which everyone knows you can get a refund in the first 15minytes of the movie. She was completely rude. I kept my mouth shut & she kept running hers which pissed me off even more. I will never go back to this theatre. Also the theatre was disgusting our seats had trash everywhere. The lobby was a mess also. Needless to say we go thrown out. She acted like trash. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! read more

Bought tickets days in advance through fandango, entered the confirmation number and their system said I had redeemed the tickets at 12am weeks before I bought the ticket. Talked to multiple people including the manager who said they couldn't do anything because it wasn't bought through them. Showed them the confirmation number, the emails, even the bank transaction on my phone. They just kept telling me to enter the confirmation number to get my tickets even though I repeatedly told them their system wasn't working. The only other option they gave me was to buy new tickets but I couldn't buy them for that time because they were all sold out and wouldn't even let me buy the seats I had already reserved. Employee ended up rudely telling me to enter the confirmation number again and I must be doing something wrong. I told her it wasn't working for the 10th time and she said "sir if you continue to slow down the line and be uncooperative you can leave". I know I probably sound like a Karen but the rudeness and unwillingness to help by the employees was atrocious. I will not be taking my business back there again. read more
