The only way to get out of this price category is to buy a very large set where the price per item drops significantly. At Ross, there was a reasonable selection. They had created this by simply breaking up a larger set, tacking on a buck or two and selling them separately. That's just what I need! I got the rectangular glass container with plastic lid and locking tabs for $4.99. It was the same with the colanders, the cook pots, the bakeware; they'd broken up the sets and you could purchase just the size needed with a selection from different brands. I don't often see such great choices and I wonder if they are timing their drops for Tuesday when they target seniors.... I also checked out some curtain rods; prices were running from $7 to $20 but given the prices the rods were unusually good looking. Pity they didn't have the size I needed. At the register the cashier inquired delicately if I was eligible for the 10% Tuesdays senior discount. You're a senior if you're 55 or over. Nicely done! Because I urgently needed to use the restroom, I continued shopping and went to check out. There was a long line of customers with only one cashier, so the wait was quite long. When I finally reached the register, I spoke with Elizabeth and asked if the restrooms were actually out of order. She kindly and politely confirmed that they were working and immediately helped me gain access to the restroom. I want to recognize Elizabeth for her professionalism and willingness to help. However, the earlier interaction was disappointing. As someone who works in hospitality, I understand how important customer experience and accurate communication are. She dealt with the long ass lines with no complaining from her and from us waiting 20-30 minutes in line. So I deal with medical migraines and that heat was unbearable and I felt light headed the entire time I was there. I asked why the heater was so cranked up, she said that's how it is in every location. WTF, corporate you want your customers to pass out?
