Overall the bank lacks coordination. Many different departments. They do not talk to each other. Everyone is going to say it is not my department or there is nothing I can do, you have to call them. And there is a run around. There are approximately seven question to ID you over the phone and this is repeated many times as they transfer you back and forth. It seems they are not interested in small consumer like me with less then 100k in deposits. And please for God's sack do not write a bad review when they asked you to provide it. Because the branch manger will tell you that they appreciate it. So you can not be honest. Most of the branches are extremely large but not enough man power. Generally during lunch hour when I can go to the bank there is only one teller and long line. Please find a better bank. read more

Today I attempted to pay a credit card bill in the amount of $1.53. This was a finance charge because I mailed the payment but it did not make it before the due date (even though it was mailed 4 days prior). I walked into the bank, handed the teller my bill along with (2) one dollar bills and stated, "I'd like to pay my bill." I was told Citi Bank does not accept cash payments. I would have to write a check or obtain a money order. Really? For a dollar and fifty-three cent bill. I plan on cutting this card up. Done with these nuts. read more

If CITIBANK ever offers you a promotion by opening an account when you are depositing a large amount. Say NO. They will lie to you when you will receive the promotion credits. They will say 4 months, then 5 months, then 6 months. I have used this bank for 30 years, they have never given me any benefits. I am going to move to another bank. This bank sucks. Ok - I waited to post this review - let me set up the scene. Need to open a bank acct - been a a long time WELLS acct holder - and the last few years I've been pretty unhappy with WF with both service and their bungles that have been on the news the last few years. So I thought, hmmm, maybe I'll try Citibank and this one is the closest branch - reviews are not so good but I chalked it up to the pandemic. So I called and spoke to the branch manager, Albert. Had a great conversation, detailed and he was very knowledgeable. Told him I was coming down next morning. He said "no problem" - bankers, Maritza and Austin would be there. I drew Maritza. Bottom line - wasted my time - let me walk out the door. She indicated that the account that I spoke to at length with her manager doesn't exist. Did some digging on Citibank's website and the type of account I wanted WAS AVAILABLE! Called back and she literally said "oh yeah, we have that account - I didn't even know that was available?" WTH ‍. Sooo, I said I held off and decided to see how their online bank application system works - had trouble with that - sooo spoke to their phone customer service and they continued with friendly but NON-SENSE responses - it even took 2 days to get a human person. So CITIBANK - it seems that the incompetence was consistent - so maybe you do deserve 1 star. Because this would be one time when NO STARS is appropriate. I went into this Fullerton branch to open 3 citigold accounts to get a good rate and a bonus, was told that I needed to keep the money in for 90 days, then went I called the branch after leaving 3 messages for the manager I was told that I only needed to keep it in for 60 days. The employees do not know there products at this branch. I will be going back to Chase Bank when this is all wrapped up. read more

I started to come to the branch more often because the people here are amazing! extremely knowledgeable, patient, kind, courteous and helpful. I was going through some bad experience from calling Citibank over the phone but I came to this branch and one of the girls personally helped me with my problem; she was awesome! she came through with everything she said she was going to be doing for me, like: followed up with phone calls and finally got me the best service. Great service today from alber the manager and austin. I had to go back and forth from US bank. That was holding my check for a week. They got me the copy of my cleared check. But us bank wouldnt still clear it so I came back and alber helped me wire money to my account quickly. Funds were in my account in less than 30 minutes. Thanks again to alber and austin. Compared to Citibank Singapore, this place is heaven. I came in on an early Saturday morning to open a US Citibank account as I hear it plays nicely with Citibank's SG accounts (aka no fee money transfer, although they still get you on the forex conversion). Steven C greeted me and was very knowlegeable and courteous. He helped me in just about an hour to open an account, sign up for a CC, sign me up to the online portal, and point me to some good Mexican food in the neighborhood, haha. read more

They don't know the meaning of customer service here. Attitudes given to me because I walked in 15 min before closing. Telling me to pull out from the ATM since it's faster. Then trying to scare me by saying I will be charged a fee if I pull cash at teller. Then manager comes and tries to sort it out. Calls the customer service line on the card and says oh I'm sorry the system is down so I can't help you. Then we try to pull out the money and is denied and they now tell me it's locked. Then they all gang up on me telling me they are not responsible for the card and they have nothing to do with there own citi bank stamped card. But the bank lot is smelly and dirty, uninviting, remnants of someone's good time, generally filthy and discussing. Recently I had to visit this branch because my home loan statement did not arrive through the mail., but I knew it was due. From the time I entered this branch, everyone was so helpful. The teller apologized for not receiving my statement and I told he it was not her fault that the US mail did not deliver or it got lost. She even went the extra mile to verify my correct address and did look up that the statement was sent out. I've been using Citi Bank checking and credit card for 15 years. They never charge me something by mistake, like Bank of America did several times before. Today I had an issue with Groupon, and since I couldn't get in touch with them, I called Citi Bank customer service for help (I used my Citi Bank debit card). While they couldn't do much, they did their best to do what they could, and they were very patient all the way through. Today's service was friendly and pleasant, just like every other times I got help over the phone or in person. read more

I went to citibank @ Fullerton, CA location on 4/23/216 to discuss about my house refinance. I met a home lending officer and after she reviewed all my papers she told me that I'm well qualitied for the refinance at much better rate than what I'm paying now. So I told her she can process refinance with current rate what Citibank can offer. she said she will proceed and contact me soon with all details. since then she only gave me the updates whenever I asked for it. it's been almost two month since I started my refinance and finally escrow called me yesterday said paper is ready and she will come to my house with papers that I need to sign. But escrow said approved loan is not from citibank. It's from other mortgage company I never heard of. And escrow told me that she also works with other mortgage company as a partner. Today She contacted me and said whole different story than we discussed last two month. But when I complain about this, she said if you want to cancel your loan you can cancel now.... nothing started yet.. what the heck.. she is so irresponsible and never say sorry for wasting my time !! read more

The CITI credit card department (p.o.box address) fails to receive my mailed and fax materials three times in a row over the last three months, even with the help of CITI local branch in California. They also rejected my initial application with a ridiculous reason: The SSN record they pulled does not match the one of my SSN card - Hey, if any mismatch occurs, won't they use their brain a little bit to the pull record aligned with the number specified on the SSN card? I am stunned how bureaucratic and incompetent this bank could be...If they did not pull my credit for this I will walk away to other options for sure! read more

I was walking home from work and saw a Citibank debit card on the sidewalk. Since I have lost my card before and hate the hassle and time involved in getting a new one I went home and called the nearest branch. Fullerton, Harbor Blvd. I was given directions and within 10 minutes of getting home was on my way with my son to the bank. Never would I have believed that I wished I had not. As I went in the bank I noticed that the tellers were positioned on the left side of the bank while those in the bull pen where on the right. Since I simply wish to leave the card and go I see the tellers are busy so I approach the right side where the desks are spread out and go up to the first desk situated on the right. I don't know what the man's name was or what his position is at the bank. What I do know is he sat at the first desk on the right was in his fifties and white. As he was on the phone (personal business) I wasn't sure if I should approach him but he kinda motioned to me and asked if he could help me so I went to him and explained why I was there. I then handed him the card I had found. My first sign or trouble was as I gave it to him he did not even have the courtesy to say thank you.And the second clue was after I had turned away and was getting ready to walk away he looked at me and snidely asked how much was left on the card. At first it took me a minute to figure out what he said because really what kind of idiot would say that when the person is doing a good deed right? But then his words sank in and I said I don't know and walked out. I quickly went to my car and drove away. I had gone out of my way to do right thing, because that's what real people do and he acted like I had stolen the card and used it. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!. I will never go into that Citibank again. And if he is any indication of type of individuals that sit at the desks then they need to seriously overhaul their hiring practice. And just for the record I will send a copy of this letter to both the Manager of the bank and the President. Perhaps nothing will be done, but the truth is he should be fired. Words cannot describe how inefficient this bank and its workers are. If the bank opens at 10, everything should be up and running before those doors open, no excuses. Furthermore, theres only one worker behind those desks when theres a line of customers waiting; people who will end up being late for work because this location could not get their crap together. A simple sorry will not change the fact that we are late to our jobs. However, it does not stop there, these workers have attitudes. Just by the negative tone of their voice really irritated me. They talked to me as if I am the one at fault here. It's bad enough that theres a long line of frustrated people, do not add fuel to the flame. Get your workers straightened out Citibank. Wow!! I went into branch to make an opening deposit for another checking account I had opened online. Now up to this point, I have had nothing but good things about customer service at Citibank. That is until today. I was greeted entering the branch with a hello from all the tellers, that was the warmest welcoming I experienced ever. Only to have my expectations come to an abrubt halt with the least friendliest "May I help you?" I explained my reason for visiting the branch and was given a rude and non-informative version of Im guessing is the protocols of new online accounts."But we can take your deposit if you want." Wow! A bank that doesnt want money. Was blown away again. Have you ever experienced blatant prejudice? You dont know how to react. I closed my accounts today.
