JUST AVOID CITIBANK ALTOGETHER. When we opened an account at this branch because our home loan required it, we were not told any of the fine details regarding direct deposits. Just that we needed to set it up, which we did. When we started getting charged for the account, we chose to close the account. I transferred everything out and then called, as required by Citi, and asked for the account to be closed. They said they couldn't do it and I would have to call back. I called back and again, they couldn't do it. I'm sick of dealing with a business that lies to catch customers fees and then refuse to close the account. I will close this account but I may have to physically go in and allow other customers to hear my conversation and dissatisfaction since they are completely unwilling to handle this privately over the phone. read more

Zero stars for this branch & manager, they are very prejudice and will choose to service you if they want too. The branch manager, Tanya Freeman was horrible and judged a book by its cover. I went in today to get a cashiers check and was denied because " Zelle transactions were pending and I had to wait 24 hours" but my account balance was available for the amount that I needed for the cashier check. she told me three different reasons as to why she wouldn't provide the cashiers check which were all different stories to cover up the fact that she was discriminating against me. She said it's the branches policy to wait 24 hours for Zelle transactions to clear before they can withdraw any money to the customer so I asked her to show me that in fine print of that policy and she said she couldn't because she does not have it, which there is no such policy because I called corporate And ask them and they advise that that was not true at all. She proceeded to tell me that I'm able to take money out of the ATM and asked if I'm able to withdraw money from an ATM why aren't I able to withdraw money in a form of a cashiers check and she finally stated "because if the money bounces back it'll fall on the ATM and not on me" PURE DISRESPECTFUL & DISCRIMINATING! this was totally unacceptable. UPDATE 03/29/24: The Area Director reached out to me after my situation was brought to his attention. He was extremely understanding, polite and sincere in helping me resolve this issue. I was able to go into the branch and finally get my daughter's account setup this past week. The manager and staff apologized for my troubles and were much more pleasant this time around. They did an excellent job of providing my daughter with a unique, professional but personable experience. I hate that it had to come to this to get things moving along but they did sincerely apologize and make up for the prior mishaps. Thank you and changing my star rating from 1 to 4. Lastly, to the people up top at Citibank....still.....please open a branch in Stockton! It only makes sense since Stockton is the most centralized location in the area. That would be ideal for the majority of the customers in this portion of the central valley. read more

1/8/2021 at 4:45pm I came to this location to make a deposit. There were only 2 tellers at the time. The older female Asian teller with short hair was extremely rude. She kept insisting that my debit card was not activated (when I did activate my card and show her the confirmation from Citibank) and instead of offering help with my transaction, she threw my card back to me (yes, threw!) and told me to call the back of the card for help. I politely asked her if I could work with someone else in the bank and she annoyingly replied "Sure, if you want". I felt disgusted by her response, but not wanting to make a scene at a public place, I moved to the next counter to ask for help from the other teller, who was very helpful. The problem with my card came from Citibank side, and she helped me to reset my pin. While this transaction was taking place, the rude teller kept giving provocative talks over the counter to the teller that I was working with and insisting that it was not her fault and I had not activated my card. I technically had to ask her to stop talking. Extremely disrespectful! The brand manager just stood there and did nothing. This is not my first encounter with this rude teller. I have been to this location once after opening my Citibank account in December 2020. The first encounter was just as bad. She did not know how to deposit my money with an ID and account number. She just came up with some weird reasons why I should not do it and refused doing it. Now I can certainly say that she did not know how to do it. Unfortunately, no one else was available to help me at the time. Here's a piece of advice. Train your people so they know how to do their job. If they can't, then they should know how to say "I'm sorry I don't have the knowledge to do XYZ. Let me find someone else who can", and not to show hostile/disrespectful behavior towards your customers, and more importantly, apologize when you are clearly in the wrong. At the end, no apology was given (neither from the teller or the branch manager). I am disgusted by the way this branch treats their customers (even with the branch manager, who was also unprofessional and tried to deny the wrongdoings from her team member). The worst experience I have ever had dealing with a bank in general. I already filed a complaint to corporate. I sure hope they look into this. read more

One of the tellers always makes me feel super uncomfortable when I go here. It seems as if she almost doesn't think that it's my bank account. She always seems very suspicious and weird when I go in to make transactions. The last time I went in, she even had me resign something to how I did when I "first opened up my bank account", yes she literally told me that. My boyfriend and I tried to go cash a check and Manteca was the closest one exiting the freeway, We called ahead of time and asked if we were able to go and cash my boyfriends check there even though we did not have an account with them. The "Manager" said yes as long as the name on the check matched the name on my boyfriend's ID. So we get to the Citibank on Manteca just so they can tell us that we cannot cash it due to HIS 2ND LAST NAME NOT BEING ON THE CHECK. He does not use his 2nd last name on anything. We have always gone to the one on Modesto and we've never had a problem with them. We were so upset. Poor customer service, Go to the one on Modesto, at least you'll be treated like a actual customer there. read more

I came to this bank twice trying to complete a specific task (private), but the people who work there are unfamiliar with their bank rules, not even the branch manager. The first time I went they asked for certain papers and I came back and got it for them. And the second time hoping it will resolve, but no they kept on trying to find out anything that could possibly delay the process. They should really go get some serious training from the Bay Area branches who operates bigger and bigger branches than them. They were fumbling through papers and papers trying to understand how to process a certain task. They are not even that courteous to you. Definitely won't recommend this branch to anyone! I ordered a Wheelchair online via a Facebook Ad and canceled my order after reading the poor reviews. I immediately called Citi Bank card and informed them of this transaction and that I had canceled my order. I also had Citi Bank card cancel my bank card and issue me a new number to prevent any future problems. The vendor sent me an empty envelope with a shipping label attached and told Citi Bank they had shipped my order. I took a photo of the envelope and sent it to Citi Bank. Citi recharged my card and told me I had to pay the charges. I told them I never received a product. They told me I should request a refund from the vendor as Citi has denied my claim and expected me to pay even though I never received any merchandise. I have been a customer with Citi for 20 years and have always paid my balance in full every month. I told Citi Bank I would no longer be a customer if they would not resolve this issue. The customer service person at Citi said I should file a complaint with the Secretary of State and the Better Business Bureau. She said CitiBank policy would not allow her to make any adjustments. read more

I tryd to Cash a Check from one of my Clients today March 25 2019 the teller actually called my Client who the check was from and no answer she then tells me I haft to wait untell they get a call back. ummm no I cant wait this is your Citibank Check addressed to me here is my Drivers License cash it she again said no. I went into the branch about a month ago and wasn't able to close my mother's account due to protests happening that day. However, Tanya made a simple suggestion that I make an appointment the next time I was in town. I did and was able to complete my transactions quickly and efficiently. They aren't even courteous enough to call you back. I've been there multiple times, only a few people in their bank, but they're, "too busy today" and "don't worry hun, well give you a call." Great Place to Bank. I've been at this bank for will over 10 yrs. I have had issues on my account but every time it was resolved in a professional and timely manner. Every one of the tellers and managers have been professional, courteous and knowledgeable in helping me. I will be a member for many more years.
