Absolutely unbelievable experience at this Citibank. I walked in at 3:01 PM on a Thursday, and the bank doesn't even close until 5 PM. The place was completely empty. No customers, not one. Two tellers standing around, no lines, no activity, nothing. So naturally, you'd think this would be the perfect time to open a simple checking account, right? Wrong. I was told I needed an appointment. An appointment in an empty bank. Even better, there were "no appointments available" for the rest of the day. This is while I'm literally standing in a lobby with zero customers and employees who clearly had the time. It's honestly impressive how efficiently time can be wasted here. Instead of helping a ready and willing customer on the spot, the solution was to send me away and tell me to come back another day, as if opening a basic checking account requires the scheduling precision of a surgical procedure. If this is the level of customer service and common sense you can expect, I'd seriously think twice before banking here. Completely illogical, unnecessarily rigid, and a total waste of time. read more

Citibank convinced me to open a savings account to earn a $1,250 bonus. For that I must keep my account above $500,000 to $1,000,000 for 3 months. I'd followed the guidelines and met all requirements. Upon maturity, no bonus. Had to go into a branch, and also called customer service. After one month of nightmare, I finally got the $1,250 bonus. But I have 20 other accounts in other banks. I never had to fight for what I had earned. Only at Citibank. I would not participate in any other future promos. Thanks to Dylan Cabral for assisting me. I logged onto my account one day and much to my surprise, Citi closed my account. The reason they gave me is that it was closed due to "significant amounts of cash transactions were made". WHAT???? So because we made large cash deposits the account was closed??? What kind of a bank does this? Ohhh I get it, Latinos aren't allowed to make cash deposits without it being suspicious activity. Worse bank ever. Have been waiting for a call from the branch manager or distist manager for a couple days now. Spoke to a customer service representative in regards to fraud. They said only the branch can grant provisional credit. Asked to have one of these 2 associates call me. Still no call and still no provisional credit. Close your accounts and run to another bank. The rules in regards to fraud is not like other banks. It could take 2 cycles to get credit. [2 months] I have a police report and photos to show it is fraud, but they still make me feel like I'm lying. Worse customer service ever!!! read more

THEY MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.....There are not too many locations here in Riverside, so I have to travel a long distance to conduct my business with this bank. I have a personal and business account and about a year ago, I used to make night deposits in a receptacle on the side of the bank which was very convenient. They closed this....and I was told that all deposits have to be made via the ATM machine. Just about every time, I tried to make a deposit in the evening, the ATM machine would reject one or two checks so I have to make a long trip again to deposit them with a teller. Secondly, this stupid ATM machine will reject more than one transaction if you try to do it in two different units...once again, I have to make a long trip to come back and deal with the tellers. I think I will switch to a better bank. read more

This branch has some problems. The manager will not work and makes you wait to have her employees do all the work. So if you are a customer you have to wait an extra long time just to open an account. I went in to open a business account and the manager Adriana told me i had to wait to see jenny who was the only one in the branch that could open a business account. so I came back and waited another hour. Jenny called me 10 mins to 5;00 closing time. she looked at the papers and had the manager look at them and came back and said that she would need all signers here in person. This is a Corp business . so I said fine than forget about the other signers and just list me the president which is allowed and filed with the secretary of state. Than she says we need all the others signers to sign that only you will be on the account. I told her no forget about the corp resolution that you did not want to accept. the "Statement of Information" from the secretary of state says that any one person "officer" has authority to open and conduct business. They just didn't want to take the time to open an account when they were closing. after I waited over an hour. This is what poor customer service is. I even told jenny "that i dont want to be scuttled out the door just cause it is closing time. If you dont have trust in the people tat hold your money take it somewhere else. that is what happened in the great depression. read more
