First off, I've never been so relaxed and respected at a dentist's office After losing my tech job in a mass layoff and moving away, I continue to visit CitiDent. It's worth the 4-hour train ride and BART trip! I thought I was properly adulting before my insurance helped me find CitiDent (I had just gotten a tech job and the office was less than a 10 minute walk). But boy, was I wrong. I wasn't even using an electric toothbrush or floss picks. My permanent retainer was super old, in poor condition, and wouldn't let me floss properly. The other one had come off years ago and I never replaced it Dr. Jasselle has been amazing! She explains everything she is doing or planning to do like I'm a 5yo...cause I need it I may have found CitiDent because I worked in tech, but I am a BIPOC and previously lived off of minimum wage. Dr. Jasselle is a true professional and doesn't judge her patients' ignorance. She wants to help them live a healthier life and be happy...so we can show off those pearly whites Dr. Jasselle is so positive and outgoing...and gives me so many great tips along the way! There hasn't been an appointment where we're not laughing The only downside is it's difficult to schedule/reschedule appointments with her sooner because she's so popular. The front staff are amazing too! Great communicators (I was a tech recruiter, university library supervisor, and also studied conversation in a master's Linguistics program) you can tell have decades of customer service experience, are well treated, and just really enjoy coming into work. Alex (the staff member who greets you upon entrance) especially has helped me so many times with rescheduling and answering all of my questions. I have been seeing Dr Amini since 2006, for everything from routine checkups to crowns to minor aesthetic touch ups. He and his staff are excellent. They take pride in the quality of their work and the way they treat their patients. This includes being as up-front and transparent about pricing as they can be given our Byzantine insurance system. More than once they have helped me figure out the best treatment plan and timing to minimize out of pocket costs without sacrificing having the right work done. My dad is a dental specialist and so I have been in many dental offices over the years, and heard many more stories about how dentists run their practices. I always feel so welcomed coming into the office. All the front office managers remember my name, Dr. Cabugao is always careful to explain everything for me. I feel like I can reciprocate the values of gum health, flossing, using an electric toothbrush, even just swishing with water after eating, etc. The assistants also always remember my name; it feels like they all know me beyond work! A year ago, I needed an emergency dentist due to an enormous infection in one of my premolars. A friend of mine recommended CitiDent because they use the most up-to-date technology, good care, and service. Long story short, my journey to regain a healthy mouth took nearly a year. Yes, a long time, but I can't be happier with all the work, and coordination that the CitiDent team did for me. I feel good about my teeth again! First of all, I had a very effective consultation with Dr. Ngo, and then everything went according to schedule. Dr. EhZan proceeded to extract my almost rotten premolar, healed my bone with dental bone grafts, and made sure the infection was gone! Obviously, it is scary to get a procedure such as this, but it went easy and smoothly! Incredible Dr. Amini worked to get the most beautiful and perfect crown for the missing premolar after removal and when my gums were healed. He also ensured that all my old fillings were reconstructed and healthy. And to complete that lengthy process, he did a thorough cleaning of all my teeth. The in-depth cleansing was long but awesome, and smooth and my teeth are less stained and my gums can breathe now! Finding a new dentist has been daunting for me because of bad experiences in the past. Luckily I found CitiDent, where I was shocked to find that everyone seemed to enjoy working there, from the receptionists, the technicians, to the dentist! Oddly enough, their fun and friendly attitude helped me start my day on a great note! They're staff all seem to communicate and coordinate very well among each other. Even though it was basic, all of them suggested that I raise my left hand if I feel any pain or discomfort. Aligning on a single non verbal form of communication made it easy for me to not worry too much about communicating with any of the staff throughout the day. Additionally the staff was super patient in explaining what was going on, and what they saw in the x-rays or images of my teeth. They all seemed super passionate about their job and it shows in the way they interact and teach people about the state of their gums and teeth. I unfortunately had to get a cavity re-done, and got a dose of anesthesia. Initially the anesthesia didn't numb enough of my mouth but the dentist I visited, Dr.Ngo waited patiently and gave an extra dose. Her attention to detail, passion for dentistry, and care for her patients made this the best experience I've had at the dentist! Can anyone really say they love going to see the dentist?! Well.....I CAN! Dr. Amini rocks! What I love most about seeing Dr. Amini is that my visits are educational. He gives me an overview on the health of my mouth, talks me through the procedures and shows me before and after pictures. (Update): The covid experience here is great. In the beginning they required negative covid tests, but also take time to disinfect your shoes and your hands when you enter. They also have air purifiers in each room when you're there. I've been seeing Dr. Amino at Citident for 4 years now and it's been a great experience. The office is clean, professional, the dental hygienists/assistants are really nice and do a good job as well. It's also conveniently located in Fidi close to work. I did have a couple issues in 2018-19 for two procedures where the front desk used the wrong codes with my dental insurance (delta). They corrected their mistakes both times when I brought it up and I was refunded promptly. However it did require me to do my own research and call Delta to get it sorted out. read more

After a super unpleasant experience regarding a scooter. The concern was escalated to office manager who used the time to lecture me on OSHA regulations. Then, after stopping the manager to remind her that she needed to be focused on solutions rather than lecturing, I was finally let inside the office only to be asked to "raise my legs" so that my shoes could be sprayed down. I was then asked to extended my hands, and the front desk person applied hand sanitizer. THEN she immediately asked for prepayment for the services I had not received. The whole experience was terrible. Just unprofessional, which is unfortunate because Dr. Amini was quite nice. Good luck making past the unprofessional front desk staff. read more

I cannot say enough about Dr.Ben Amini, Dr. Jennifer Ngo, Practice Manager Naz, Elaine, and the whole team at CitiDent. Back in the before-times, CitiDent was a best-in-class dental team with a fantastic welcoming hospitality. Now that we are in the darker times of this pandemic, CitiDent has stepped it up even more. I lost two crowns within days of each other and, as someone who rarely leaves his home during this pandemic, Ben, Jennifer, and their team were nothing short of amazing in their respectful and thorough response to my situation and it's resulting anxiety. Their pandemic safety protocols were very impressive and comforting. They met me at the door to check my temperature, spray the soles of my shoes, and Purell my hands. They explained that the sound I heard after leaving the X-ray room was their fogging machine that disinfects each room after each use. They had a machine in each exam room that would exchange and filter all the air in each room every eight minutes. They also had a machine that was aimed directly at my face that created a negative pressure, sucking away anything I expelled. I was safely in and out, re-crowned, in record time. Now, some twenty days after, I can say their thoughtful protocols kept me safe and healthy and I am happily chomping on all my favorite foods again, except for almonds. read more

He is the same down-to-earth, sincere and caring professional that he has always been. Finally, I had dental insurance so I could go and have the teeth cleaned. The one thing I used to hate about going to the dentist, was not really knowing what they were doing. I got my Invisalign done here 2 years ago. The aligners were a problem from the beginning itself. Instead of getting the right set of aligners that would fit my teeth perfectly, they would make adjustments to the existing ones such as cutting the aligner from the back because it is 'not needed'. To make things worse, the dentist I was seeing moved to a different place right before they declared my treatment completed. No heads up whatsoever. Also, I found out later that my case history during the Invisalign treatment was not documented properly either. As a result of this, I had to go to their office 3-4 times to get the final retainers. Alas! they never fit. During my final visit, Dr. Amini started pushing me to get other dental work done because it was costing him to re-do the retainers for me. They charged me $400 for a set anyway. The retainers I have, have been a disaster. Paying full price for a botched up job by Citident burnt a hole in my pocket. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Take your business somewhere else. Assistants - Ashley and Elaine are amazing though! read more

I was with Dr Amini for the past four years. He was one of the best! Professional, considerate and fun. The assistants were very helpful (special shoutout to Elaine and Amanda!). They would try their best to accommodate your schedule and communicate very well. The office is centrally located in the financial district downtown San Francisco. The place was very well decorated with high-end finishings. You would feel enjoyable when you stay here. Also want to mention that the office adopts the most advanced dental devices, like 3D printer to make temporary crowns and noninvasive anesthesia equipment. I did two crowns with Dr Amini two years ago and have been very satisfied with the result so far. Will visit for an annual check this week.
