I've been coming here since 2015. Can't recommend them enough! Drs. Nazanin and Masha are gracious, professional, and take great care. Every dental hygienist has been great as well. Nicole at the front desk has always been extremely helpful with scheduling and navigating insurance copays. I'm someone who never had the best teeth. I've have my fair share of crowns and fillings. They took over Dr. Noordeh, whom I had been seeing for 3 decades. I went for my tooth cleaning, and I saw Dr. Hakim for the first time. I found out the price was so much higher than I used to pay. I was recommended to become a member to get the discount. I've never heard of a $99 annual membership for the dentist!!! Also, the doctor mentioned that I could have a Botox shot to hide the receding gum line. I don't think so. I miss Dr. Noordeh. read more

I've been with the practice for several years now, through several practice changes (COVID, office move, going out of network for Delta Dental) and overall have been quite happy with my patient experience. The Hakim sisters are excellent and the care experience is seamless regardless of who are you seen by. The office experience has been great as well. The office staff is readily available by phone, text, and email. I had a reimbursement issue with Delta Dental and the office staff patiently worked with me until the problem was satisfactorily resolved. Recently I had an acute issue come up and the office was able to schedule me in to be seen by one of the dentists the next day. It turned out I needed to see a specialist and a referral was made immediately. Really appreciate how the practice is able to handle things quickly and appropriately. I scheduled first-time appointmenteverything went well Dr's were great. Thet recommended me posterior resin; scheduled second appointment for posteriors resin. The day of my appointment my left side was done when I finished with the doctor went to the front desk and they asked for $1300 USD due right away because my insurance cover 80 % and they were are out-network means they don't take the allow amount from my insurance $590 the practice wants the total charge amount wich is $1478.Please don't let them take advantage of you; every provider should let their patients if they are out-network and what's the patients' responsibility before providing any services. read more

This review is on lack of follow through and not keeping their clients informed that the practice is no longer accepting Delta insurance. This is NOT a review of their dental services. I understand the practice didn't want to negotiate their prices down to match the insurance's reimbursement level and thus decide to no longer accept Delta as of April 2023. I was informed an email was sent out notifying they're out of network with Delta and for a lot of clients it went into spam folder. For a practice that constantly inundates it's clients with texts, calls and emails on appointment scheduling reminders and payment dues, it is truly sneaky to send out one email on change in insurance coverage (which they are aware is routed into spam folders) and call it a day! I wish they would stop surprising their patients on insurance coverage change right before the appointment and do a decent job on due diligence. read more

Have been here for a few years and love them. I was so stressed to find a dentist in SF because I was convinced I had the best dentist in OC, but this sister duo has really made my transition to the Bay so easy. Dental care is so interesting because I think its grossly undervalued, having good dental care improves your outlook on aging, facial aesthetics, confidence, fertility and so much more. And the doctors here are best in class. Their staff is polite, kind and responsive making scheduling a breeze. The doctors also have an impeccable eye and their office is beyond gorgeous while maintaining industry prices. They also pay scrupulous attention to detail- making sure your experience and your mouth are best in class. Even though I moved out of SF, I still fly back to see Dr. Mahsa and Dr. Nazanin for my dental work -- they're that good! My latest dental mishap was that I knocked the crown on my front implant loose (totally my fault). I was in Miami when this happened and went to a local dentist there who said that a new crown had to be made at some ridiculous cost. Fast forward a week later, I flew into SF for work and made an appointment see Dr. Mahsa and Nazanin, and they skillfully repaired and reseated the crown back onto the implant and I'm good as new again. I never thought I'd love going to the dentist. This dental practice is one of the best I've ever been to. I started coming here when I wanted to get Invisalign done. I've now completed my Invisalign treatment and continue to come here for my regular cleaning and check ups. The entire team is soo amazing and kind. I don't know how Nicole always knows your name and remembers everything you've told her. NICOLE IS THE BEST! I completed my entire Invisalign treatment in a year and a half, it was a little longer because I wanted to do additional refinements. I am so happy with the result. They did such a great job. One of the best dental practices I've had the pleasure to visit. I've had a lot of dental work done in the past including braces, maxillofacial surgery, etc and this office was top notch. I was looking for a new dentist closer to our home and my husband recommended Union Square Dental Practice. I emailed them to schedule a cleaning since I skipped them in 2020 due to the pandemic and was taken care of by Nicole who is very organized and able to get all of my paperwork done before I stepped into the office. I was very impressed at my appointment as the receptionists were on top of everything including anticipating who I was as I walked in. Dr. Hakim (I believe I was seen by Dr. Mahsa, they're sisters) was transparent about the procedure and recommendations. I usually have to ask follow up questions but she was ready with explanations throughout my visit. The hygienists were also great and took very good care of me during the cleaning, two separate appointments to replace old fillings, and take scans for new retainers. I would highly recommend visiting this office and look forward to being a long term patient. read more

They recently changed their billing policies. I have Delta Dental, and in the past, paid $0 out of pocket to get my teeth cleaned. Now, I'm expected to pay around $450 out of pocket on top of what the insurance will reimburse me for (the total is over $600) now that they are out of network. It's a great place and the service is top notch! I definitely recommend them to anyone willing to pay! I'm just bummed I probably won't be going there anymore due to the new cost. read more

At $400/year, you get 2 dental visits a year that include an exam and cleaning, and yearly x-rays. Costlier things like fillings will have a 15% discount. There's more to the plan but I was focused on exam and cleanings. Punctuality - amazing thus far. As a new patient, I was taken into Dr. Nazanin's office to discuss my dental history. She was very thorough and asked about my concerns (major like!). I then spent ~20 minutes on x-rays with her awesome assistant. The general exam and cleaning took ~1 hour. In at 3:30PM, out at ~5PM. After the exam, she recapped everything we went over, what dental work may need to be done, what work should probably get done, potential costs, cost options, preventative care, and my overall dental health. Working in healthcare, I can honestly say she's a great provider. It's not easy finding quality doctors who are good at their craft, have great bedside manners, AND know more than they need to so they can be as helpful as possible. Their prices are also fairly reasonable. Can you find cheaper prices for dental work? Probably. But I'd rather pay a little more for quality care that I know I can count on. If I could, I'd visit the dentist every 3 months. What can I say? I like getting my teeth cleaned! read more

Rating based on the last visit. So the crown for my filling wasn't done perfectly and they didn't explain why. I had to come back to redo the crown. The doctor seemed pissed off, gave me a super painful injection that I never experienced in any dental practices, my face is still numb now after 4 hours of the procedure, which usually go away in 2 hours btw. What's on top of that, is the doctor pulled me aside at the end of the appointment, told me that my questions in my previous visits had made her uncomfortable and anxious. I mean, are you serious? You expect patient just lay there, no matter how uncomfortable the experience is, don't ask you anything or raise their hand if they are uncomfortable? I think they can do their job better and care about their patient more than just their procedures. read more

On the date of the appointment, my dentist, Dr. Mahsa Hakim, greeted me in the reception on time and brought me back to their immaculate and state-of-the-art dental palace. She explained all the procedures they would do during the course of the visit and why as well as answered all my questions--probably too many--in easy to understand non-medical jargon. There were some slight communication mishaps due to extenuating circumstances but they were accountable and still gave great service. I would continue to work with them but will be relocating soon. I have been going to this Practice for 2-3 years. I have encountered nothing but a first class experience. The Team is considerate and actionable. If there is ever an issue with payment or insurance, they're sure to follow up and explain anything that might be of complication. Their rigorous approach to craft is also unmatched. They installed an intuitive plan that i've followed for the past 2-3 years and my teeth have benefitted, with every check up. True, it's on me for upkeep, but their staff is able to be meticulous in their approach to formulating it. Simply put, I hadn't been to the dentist for 5+ years, before I walked in the first time. My gums weren't strong and there was natural build up. Through extensive cleaning and constant upkeep, my gums are back. Nicole, my main hygienist, is a wonderful person and makes my checkups engaging. She's always prompt to follow up with our last conversation, even though it's 4-6 months apart. Nicole, the woman at the front desk, echoes the same attributions of the team. She has been gracious during the holidays, with payments, allowing a little surprise discount. I am so grateful for Dr. Hakim and everyone at Union Square Dental Practice. I knocked out my permanent front teeth playing sports as a kid, and the bonding I had done then had run it's course. I saw Dr. Hakim for a consult and she ran through my options patiently and with zero judgement (my teeth looked awful). I was trying to decide between bonding and porcelain veneers and never felt a second of pressure to go with the more expensive option. I did end up going with the porcelain veneers and am so glad I did because I now have a smile that for the first time ever, I cannot stop flashing. The entire staff is completely dedicated to making your experience a positive one. Nicole at the front desk is not only incredibly accommodating, she is a delight every time you speak with her. The hygienists and techs go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and pain free. I got Zoom whitening as part of my process, and when I mentioned I was nervous (I had heard it could be painful), the hygienist produced a bell for me to ring if it became too much. (It was not painful at all - a much different experience from friends of mine who had gotten the treatment elsewhere). And Dr. Hakim is not only a magician, she is the most compassionate and thoughtful health care provider I have ever met. She thinks of everything - I was blown away when she suggested a softer shape for my veneers because she noticed my red nails and more feminine way of dressing. I love Dr. Nazanin Hakim so much. She is sooo amazing. When I filled out my patient form the first time I went in she saw o wrote I had a traumatic cleaning experience before. She took it upon herself to do my cleaning personally to get to know me better and was so detailed. I got my X-rays done and I came back the next month to fix a very old filling I've had since I was much much younger which was wearing down. She did an amazing job. She kept saying I wouldn't need numbing shots and I didn't believe her bc im so scared but she was right, when she did my filling it was zero pain and I didn't need a numbing shot. I had to leave :( because I changed jobs and insurance, they were no longer in network with my new insurance and I had to look for a new place. I am sooooo sad. This place is amazing... it's visually beautiful but the dentist is just so great. Sigh, I'm sad I have to find a new place. But I recommend this dentist and office SO so much.! read more

When I made an appointment I provided my insurance info and company I'm working for. They said the insurance is ok even it's out of network. I visited twice, one for exam and one for two teeth filling and paid for out of pocket onsite. Everything seems to be perfect. But after one month I received another billing saying I owe them money that insurance didn't pay much. So I end up paying $800 for a preventive exam and two teeth filling (after insurance). Had a crown fall out tonight and called Dr. Masha Hakim after hours and she worked me into an appointment. before noon tomorrow, so relieved, you can't be charming looking like you're the henchman or enforcer for a pro hockey team. This is my go to place for dental hygiene. Both Dr. Hakims are super professional and have very nice smiles. I got one crown done somewhere else and had some infection issues. Dr. Hakim helped me examine the issue and got it resolved quickly. There was a time when my gum really hurt and they tried to squeeze me for a same day appointment. They do care about the patients. Nazanin is our neighbor so that was always a little awkward to choose her as my dentist. My wife moved to her practice first and immediately began to rave about their hygienist and how well taken care of she was. I soon followed and wished I had several years earlier.
